The only way i could see this work is if they create a new class system where you can morph into a new class by combining new skill lines.

My opinions and posts are mostly on a PvE setting.

Yes when the barber shop comes.

Then we can have flavour of the month races that people rush to change to whenever a new patch drops. Yaaaaaaaaay!

Why did you basically copy your characters twice? Thats your fault. Race changes should be coming though, so you won'y have to switch class but you could switch race.

2x Mag Sorc + 2x Mag Nb, i see what type of player you are ;)

Like people said, race change is coming but class change will never come, not with 8 character slots.

You missed the point, the point was it's not going to be added so yes you could remake everything before it comes out because it never will.

No it's never coming, class change will never come. You have 8 characters slots for a reason.

Race change is another story, that is mean't to be coming in Dark brotherhood, i think so at least.

Yeah, they said class change is not something they ever intend to do.

And race change will come, with or in the wake of, the barbership feature... makes sense, since anyone changing their racet may want to change their appereance as well instead of just hoping the slider settings that made for a cute argonian maid would make a decent looking bosmer as well...
As for the when... last word I know of was still the january post in their "Year Ahead" where they stated after all the DB descriptions that:
Longer term, expect to see information about systems like a character customization shop so you can change your character's gender, appearance, name, etc.
I am guessing, race changes would come with that, for reasons above, and thus won't be here until after Q2. Meaning in sunner if we are very lucky, in fall if not... and perhaps even only next year if we are very unlucky - though that would generate a lot of hate even among ESO lovers like myself, so I really hope it will be coming...
    Sooner! Sooner! Sooner! ;)

Big "YES" from me on a being able to change your class (and race & appearance). This seems like such a basic feature that I'm surprised ESO doesn't have it already. Right now I have a VR16 and VR6 character. The VR16 is my main character and the VR6 is my crafter. On my VR16 I've completed the main story, Cadwell's Quests, IC quests, have good ranks in Undaunted and Alliance. I think creating another character and "power grinding" your way to max level just to enjoy another class is way too restrictive and time consuming...I've completed the entire story and while it was enjoyable I have no desire to play through it again.

Couple of things to consider regarding class and race change:
    1) FOTM builds: There are some who might argue that it would foster a community of FOTM builds, in which everyone shifts to the class and race combo that is considered the "most powerful" for that patch window. I don't think this applies to the casual player though. I'm more of a casual player and I login to ESO to have fun and don't really care about my leaderboard stats or if I'm dominating everyone in Cyrodiil. I just want to continue to use my main character but have some fun trying out a different class. If FOTM builds due to class change is really a concern there could be ways to address that (e.g. increasing the cost in the Crown Store and in game gold).
    2) Implementation: The question has arisen as to how class skill levels would handled during a class change. I don't think this is an indomitable barrier though. One way to handle this would be to have a system that counts the number of skills you have maxed on your current class and allows you the max the same number on your new class (kinda like assigning a skill point, you would be able to pick the skills you wanted to max). This could be extended to encompass class skill ranks, skill secondary unlocks, etc.

In general, giving players more options and flexibility to enjoy ESO on their own terms is a VERY good thing. For example ZOS adding the combat stats feature was a good thing...especially because they gave players the option to turn it off. We as players should be wary of taking a stance towards other players of "I don't want you to have that option.", especially if having a certain option would appeal to a large number of players.

There are MMORPGs with 8 slots (or more) that have class changes, but they are built into the game. One game, for example, encourages this by offering "jobs" (class specialization with new skills) by getting a primary class to level 30 and secondary class to level 15 for the unlock. You can start a new class by equipping that class' weapon, at which point your stats are leveled to whatever class you are currently playing. So eventually you could unlock and level out all classes/jobs.

But again, those and other multi-class systems in other games were part of the basic game design, and they do not remotely fit the game design for ESO. As for just swapping to a new class in ESO, they would have to consider a similar problem for leveling. If you are still level 50+ and fighting high level mobs, you could easily grind the new class skill lines to max in no time. So do they raise the cap for such skill lines when you swap, have your stats shrink to match your new class level, or some other solution that requires a lot of new coding? This is yet another reason why class changes will probably never come to the game.

Most MMO's never let you change class. Players would pick the easiest class to level then switch over to a class that has the strongest end game. I've never seen many race changes either for the same reason. They would just switch over to the strongest class and race. So the barber shop will probably feature only cosmetic changes for your current characters like in other MMO's.

I like how people come into these threads and say things like "they won't included race changes because fotm, immersion, etc" if any of you actually any research before posting, you would have seen that they already said race change is coming with barbershop or right after. My bet is barbershop will be for coin or crowns and race change will be for only crowns

Why in the WORLD would anyone think class change is going to be a thing? Level up one class to max level just to switch over and know nothing about the next? This game needs some progression; class change is the most ridiculous request. Race change fine but class change? No.

They already stated class changes are something they never want to do. Likely for just that reason. And yes, I know of no decent MMo that allows class change (not that I know many, but... still)

They also stated race changes will almost certainly be coming with the barbershop, due to them changing racial passives, and people whining a lot. Might that they change these plans, but I doubt it, too much money to be made fro them by letting the FOTM chasers pay for this...
Good thing there is no "best" race in ESO, just... different flavors. And I keep wondering if they would take the appereance of a race change option to in the future play more freely with the passives, in hopes to lure the min/maxxers into buying more and more race changes, over and over again... but... maybe I just have a devious mind sometimes... ;)
