I still find a lot of good things about this game though and getting strung out over one dungeon or a specific drop item is not worth it. If you can successfully run vWGT hundreds of times I suggest you do not really NEED the helm anyway.

Templars now are only a husk of what they used to be. Sure. Dark Flare and Radiant Oppression or whichever morph is nice. Yep. But compared to what they used to be? It's it a damn shame. Their breath of life was pretty much robbed from them, and given to the Sorcerer. So yeah. There's that among numerous other things. Even the Sorcerer is a fragment of what it used to be. They nerfed my precious Ball of Lightning... Q_Q
I'm tired of you not fixing PVP, and mistreating the people who partaking in it. Ignoring the obvious class flaws, and refusing to fix the lag.

The great thing about the ESO community is that enough (see what I did there?) of us are old enough to have watched that show when it originally aired on network TV.
And the boy with the helmet looking hairstyle was called Nicholas. Unfortunately I had to go google that and after seeing his pic it drove me nuts because I couldn't remember his name!
Does RNG *** me off? Sure it does, but I try to not get too worked up over it either. I think next time someone complains in-game about the RNG I'll start saying "Eight Is Enough!"

So out of curiosity, do you honestly not see anything wrong with someone having to run a dungeon over 280 times to receive a single piece of gear? You don't see ANYTHING very wrong with the drop-rate(s) and or loot tables...?

Huh? What part of my saying "Does RNG *** me off? Sure it does, but I try not to get too worked up over it either" do you possibly construe to mean I don't see something wrong with drop-rates or loot tables?
I've been around the block a long time and this RNG nonsense has been done in so many places that I refuse to get caught up in the whole thing and grind content like a lab rat. In every game I play, ESO included, I make do with lesser gear and find plenty of ways to amuse myself.
After all, remember Eight Is Enough!

Hm... I see... And yes, I agree. The RNG nonsense with game developers needs to cease; immediately. All it does is cause a divide within their player base community, and make some players feel left out and or superior to others. And why is that? Because they are lucky enough to have something drop for them that is incredibly below average...?
I wonder sometimes if these developers learn from other developer's mistakes. Time and time again we see in specifically RPG-based games, that RNG brings strong negativity and rage from its consumers... Yet, this pattern still continues... Title after title... Expansion after expansion...

ZOS enough is enough! Fix yourselves and THEN fix this game. I'm tired of this. What is "this"? This is everything. Literally everything.
I'm tired of doing dungeons constantly back-after-back, and get nothing in return. I've been running Veteran White Gold Tower for 4 weeks straight on PS4 (NA), and haven't gotten the helm yet. My guild thought it was a good idea to record the amount of times done until received. I'm on run this dungeon 277 times. No helm has dropped. Nothing. This is NOT okay. I don't care what you say. RNG is broken. Meanwhile people are having them drop fin their first run, and getting it constantly? Really? But, I can do it constantly — and get nothing in return? It feels like I'm being spit on constantly for my effort.
I'm tired of you not fixing PVP, and mistreating the people who partaking in it. Ignoring the obvious class flaws, and refusing to fix the lag. It's discussing it. And then having the audacity to say something literally as stupid as you're making a reverse slash a Zerg buster. It's not funny, it's not cute, it's not disgusting. Stop the bandaid fixes, stop pushing content, and fix what is already out.
I'm tired of you bullying the Templars, and driving their class into the dirt further and further. The class unbalance is the worse it has ever been, and you're making it worse with each DLC. Stop with the focus on vanity items, and look at the classes. Balance them. Not nerf things constantly, and putting up silly "fixes" like what you did to Magelight. But actually fix the classes.
Seriously Zenimax. Fix your game. There are threads appearing right and left of people refusing to sub anymore, and of them leaving this game. You even went to extremes such as banning Sypher for game sharing. Cool. You just made more people hate you. No, not dislike. Hate. You're making people HATE you. You have people on: Console, forums, and Mac/PC comparing your company to EA Games and other hated companies. Someone called you all the demented clone of Comcast, but for gaming in the area chat one day. Get. Your. ****. Together.

OK, I'm about to move into broad speculation here. I'm sure someone who has formally studied game design theory can chime in and I hope they do to shed some light on this.
That's the thing, you and I might view this RNG nonsense as a developer mistake, but it is done so often that I have to believe developers don't view it as a mistake whatsoever! They must believe that it provides some benefit to the overall health of a game. Perhaps one of the RNG design intents is to generate passion over a game because RNG drama can induce strong emotion from players.
And no, I don't think it's done just to generate cash shop sales in games because the crappy RNG trick has been around in games before cash shops were everywhere.

I came from a game on the other side of this issue, LOTRO.So out of curiosity, do you honestly not see anything wrong with someone having to run a dungeon over 280 times to receive a single piece of gear? You don't see ANYTHING very wrong with the drop-rate(s) and or loot tables...?
Also, speaking of how "RNG is RNG", and how "oh we all have bad luck in games" — do you know what happens to games that favor incredibly high RNG...? They die. And they become very much so hated. Case and point? Destiny. Destiny is a relatively new game which like ESO — favors high levels of RNG. And do you know what the Destiny community is like now? Even with a somewhat-recent DLC/expansion having been released, the game is steadily dying at an alarming rate. And you see complaints everywhere.
Would you like another example of RNG-heavy games that are/have suffered this same fate? Diablo 3. D3 is a game that focuses heavily on chance and luck for drops. And made things even worse with the introduction of ancient legendaries. It also did the same in terms of "rifts" with mob types and density. What ended up happening? The community became more and more ticked off by this, and with the introduction of seasonals to further separate it's community — things grew worse and worse... Now Diablo 3 is only but an ember of the flame it once was.
...And what do you know... Elder Scrolls Online is following the same damn path as these games. Granted albeit a few things are somewhat different. But the source issue is RNG. RNG this, RNG that. ZO$ is putting RNG into everything. Even motifs and crafting things such as: Kutas, rogue soot, etc. Everything is luck, luck, luck. And yet, people here in the forums act as though they don't understand why threads like mine are created... They act as though they don't get why numerous people have quit and are still quitting. They act as though they don't understand why ~61% of people said they wouldn't purchase another ZO$ game. And yes, that is an actual percentage. I hosted the poll myself.

I felt like i grinded that place until my eyes bled, but after doing some basic math, i realized I didn't have nearly the # of clears I thought I did. I believe I am right around 80-100 clears of this place, and I have a helm in every weight/trait combo except medium Divines, and have deconstructed a few duplicates.
In other news, I fully support a complete rework of the abysmal RNG in this game. Layers upon Layers upon Layers of RNG makes getting exactly what you want almost impossible.

No. It definitely took 281 runs to get my first and only Molag Kena head piece. As I said, I counted, as one of my guilds thought it would be interesting to see how long it'd take. But even so, apparently there are others who've had worse luck than me. I read either in this thread or another that it took a person 350+ runs to get a monster set's head piece. I think it was a 'Skoria piece they said.
