is infuriating. I havent played in a long time, came back a few weeks ago to try some of the new content, and for the first time since returning tried some pvp in cyrodiil tonight.
First off, absolutely impossible to find a group or communicate on consoles. We need text chat.
Second, it's still (STILL!) all zerg. If you arent in the zerg, you're just going to die before you have a chance to even attempt fighting back.
Whether or not you're part of the zerg, everyone you fight is just spamming the same abilities. There's no variety, there's no skill involved, it's just a massive DPS race, and right now it's quite clear that damage > mitigation, by a long shot. There's simply no way to survive the amount of damage you take even from a single enemy player. Despite throwing everything I had at an enemy templar I fought, all he did was spam puncturing strikes, and that alone was enough to outdamage and outheal me in just a matter of seconds.
At one point, long, long ago in the early stages of pc launch, PvP actually seemed to be a little more fun. People were a little more spread out, you didnt see zergballs, and you could actually outplay an enemy. Damage vs survivability was balanced at least well enough that you had time to react and think in a fight, instead of just button mashing and dying in five seconds flat.
How has this game's pvp only gotten worse after so much time? It's absolutely not an enjoyable endeavor anymore, at least not for your average player.
