ZOS only bans the account. Really nothing stopping you from making a new one if they ban you. I dont even think thats against the rules.

Ever hear of time served or off for good behavior?
Man I would hate to be a judge.
Maybe we should remember this is a game after all in the end.

It's a game, yes, but the TOS is not, that is a real life contract, once you agree to it.

***************The other player that was unbanned that is not a streamer was most likely unbanned for the intent of using him/her as a tool later on to address threads like these where people are bringing up the special treatment given.

Think of it, "go ahead and unban that person there as well in case they start complaining we can use them as an example that there was no bias involved".

    Isn't it convenient?

Btw I love Sypher lol, I'm just being unbiased atm

So I guess in order to violate the rules I need to setup a twitch stream. All this sypher guy ever does is rag constantly on the game and on the development team. What exactly has he contributed to except people leaving the game? Ridiculous that because the guy is a streamer he can bypass rules and gets bans removed.

Pretty much. Yep. Streamer status equates to special treatment. And if @Sypher is able to get unbanned with an offense as serious as account sharing — imagine what @Deltia would be able to get away? He could probably hack the game inside and out, and just a chuckle from the devs and a stern talking to from the big wigs.

Instead why not just punish the very few people who do exploit this, ie:
    • Gold Farmers/Sellers
    • Account Hacking

Don't punish everyone because there are a few baddies.

The interesting thing is many of the streamers take money then have "raffles" for in-game gold. I would like to zos to explain how that is any different from gold farming. The major issue that someone who has been clearly violating the rules on multiple times keeps getting breaks while people with less offenses don't. It displays zos' lack of integrity as individuals and as a company.

People arent rewarded in game money from the raffles. They are completely separate from each other.

Why you trying to link Sypher to TOS breaking activities?!

I never said sypher nor did I say tos don't place words in my mouth. I know what I said; I am very particular with my words.

These sites and services are not for use as corporate, business, commercial, or income seeking activities.
    https://account.elderscrollsonline.com/code-of-conduct

It goes far deeper then that.

    Read up on Copyright Law

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copyright
    http://fairuse.stanford.edu/
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Millennium_Copyright_Act
    http://www.copyright.gov/legislation/dmca.pdf

All these streamers are literally walking lawsuits waiting to happen. Unless you have a letter in writing from the game publisher granting you a license to stream that content, you are violating Copyright Law and can be sued at any time. Its really crazy the liability they have opened themselves up to.

who knows, "shrugs" ZOS's legal team could be waiting till the game is finished, then file lawsuits against all the streamers to extract money from them on the grounds of Copyright...why not...the law says they have exclusive rights to that content including profiting off it...it would be well within their rights to...

if your a streamer i would suggest talking to a Copyright Attorney...if you don't have written permission its almost a forgone conclusion your violating Copyright and are liable if you were to be sued...i'd do everything i could to avoid potential litigation...

In some countries, the TOS may not apply as a binding legal contract. Since most legal contracts require you have the ability to negotiate changing parts of the document so that both parties agree.

ESO TOS, after rereading quickly, says you agree to forgo this legal negotiating right.

In general, these quick TOS agreements really need a revision and review against an updated Gamer/digital-consumer Bill of Rights.

As soon as people try to say that the ToS don't apply in that country, the service will be withdrawn from there. If the company has no legal standing to protect their interests, why would they take the risk of extending these services to these areas?

Why is anyone sharing a F2P game?

Edit: rhetorical, obviously since it just doesn't make sense.

People will sometimes share their account info so another individual or entity can power level their characters. This was the case. It can be attributed to the straight up lazy characterization of not wanting to level up his own characters.

You have been after me for 2 years now. I respect your determination to try to end me.

Letting my brothers have my ps4 to play ESO on my character is a bit of a stretch to compare it with "power leveling" services companies offer in return for $.

Again, I respect your determination to hunt me down.

Firstly, no one is "trying to end you". No one is hunting you down. Let's try to not be overdramatic here. You don't have to do a ton of searching or spend any effort to find these things. A simple "crawl" with "Sypher+Account Sharing" pulls up plenty of pages on the net. I don't claim to be clairvoyant but I'd imagine the ban was due to having someone level your character(s?) for you on the PC megaserver. Not the little brother PS4 sob story you told to get sympathy.

Take a look at the chat that you carelessly forgot to cover. It sure looks like you're having someone progress your character to me. Even something as simple as grabbing skyshards takes time and increases the capability of your character thus is considered leveling. This video is from 2014 and the PS4 version of the game had not come out yet.

I didn't cover because I didn't care to cover it (initially I did, but realized how silly I was being). Which is also the same reason I was open about using other peoples accounts to play on EU for example, or letting my brothers play my ps4 account for me.

@Sypher I've been meaning to ask you something for quite some time. Approximately how many free crowns is ZO$ dumping into your account, and what does it take to get special treatment from the staff of a game as big as TESO:TU?

Hypothetically speaking, if I became a big-time streamer... And I made sure to rip into the devs, but big-up the game when it was "hype time" (new DLC release periods)... Could I get special treatment as well? I mean sure. I'd be a subscriber to this company's game as well, and all that jazz. But seriously. Could I pull it off? Because I know people who probably dumped in way more: Effort, money, time, etc. and ZO$ still banned them like nothing. So please. Instruct us on the ways of having your hand held by ZO$. Better yet, make a YouTube video and do the whole "Be sure to hit that like button and subscribe for more—" bit. It'll get you more likes and comments as per usual.

@Sypher You have me mistaken. You see. My issue (originally) lies in the fact you were banned for an issue as petty (in the grand scheme of things) as account sharing. But! Account sharing from ZO$' point-of-view is a serious offense. Therefore, you committed a serious offense — this banned. Once you were unbanned for having special treatment, I then had an even larger issue with ZO$ for playing favors.

You give yourself WAY too much credit. To me, you're just a guy who plays on camera, and received donations from adolescents and young adults to support your career of gaming (which is fine). You're as special to me, as the worker at Starbucks asking me my order. How ZO$ handled this is my issue. M'kay? And I was asking you how'd I go about exploiting the system, and receiving special privilege like you have. That's all. But a straight issue with you? Lmao. Please.

On last thing. Using your name to rally people? Lol. You streamers really do give yourselves way too much credit. You see @Sypher, there's 2 kinds "big PVP'ers". M'kay? There's the ones who have a platform (Twitch, YT, etc.), and get their fame and support through it. Then there's the ones who are known for their rep in Cyrodiil, and don't need to record it all through pictures and video to be spoken about. They keep their info low-key to the casuals. You see? I'm a "random on the forums" to you. I bet this. However, in-game? Whole other story. And you can keep talking reckless, and videos may leek of you getting gankers up and rage-quitting. Plenty of my guildies and I have done it. Now please call my bluff on this. We double dare you. I'm sure the forums would love to see the great @Sypher getting chumped in 1v1 when cameras aren't rolling.

Be sure to stream it guys.
Winner gets... well nothing really as it's clicking buttons so not really worth bragging rights.

Hmm ... do streamers get free crowns?

Seriously, I'm curious. I know some streamers get free early copies of games, but crowns and stuff from the crown store?

So many people here need to be ashamed of themselves. ZOS you could of handled this better and with more tact. @Sypher I don't know much about you other than you stream and you quit college to do so.Well at the time. Maybe you are back in college, and, well you should be if you stay away to long you will wind up with admission/readmission issues. Do not put your future off.

My son did that and after two years the College made it real difficult for him. So I kicked him some hefty funds and got him to enlist in the Corps he may never leave his new brothers now. If he does he will have the finances to pursue college on his own.

I do not agree with how ZOS handled the situation. And you young man knew better. Be glad that your lapse in ethics was just in the game. Being a public streamer is probably making this harder on you than the average Joe. Hang in there and by next month this will be old news.

I would love to. I honestly would. However, after it taking me 250+ runs to get my Molag Kena helm and grinding it daily? I am taking a break from ESO. I'm ESO'd out. And I damn sure don't want to put-up with lag in Cyrodiil. Plus The Division has had an amazing update released, so I'm busy with that. Not to mention the new Dark Souls is out. So ESO can suck it at the moment.

HOWEVER! I have absolutely no problem arranging a battle with you once I'm back. And adding you on PSN to do this. You're not the only one who does 1vX. And no. It won't be 2v1. 1v1 is more than sufficient.

You sir, are one of the few streamers I respect. If my respect means anything to you. You along with a few others genuinely care about the community, and the things going on with it. Not to mention, your videos actually tell it like it is. No sugar coating anything. No hype/meta/OMG-train content. No. Just raw facts and truth, and giving things how it is. I salute you and what you bring to the table of TESO:TU.

Not to derail the thread. But that is news to me.... Anywho... ZOS you have terrible people skillz plox fix them right Meow!

To be honest I wish I could stream I just burn out too quickly. I don't think this is special treatment because that would be low for ZOS. I am more a Grey Knight here theres things I like and things I hate about the game. But just because hes a streamer he can't break the rules like he can't glitch too where game masters hang out and get away with it. Which is why this may not be special treatment.

This is partially how I feel. It's like this. Game sharing isn't too big of a deal to us players. It's a small thing in a sea of way larger things. However! It is a big deal to ZO$, and for very good reason(s). Therefore, a ban is warranted. But, for them to lift the ban and go about it the way that they did? I have a very large issue with that. A very large issue. @Sypher is probably a good guy in real life. Probably a brilliant man. A man I'd have a chuckle with, and share a few BBQ flavored chips with. And honestly? It isn't his fault that ZO$ went about handling it the way that they did. However! I have a HUGE problem with how cocky he is coming off about it. At least in my opinion.

We do not allow account sharing to protect our players from the following:
    • Gold Farmers/Sellers
    • Account Hacking

Anyone whose ESO account is suspended or banned may appeal the decision via our Support Portal. We can and do give players another chance when the situation warrants it.

Dear Jessica, can you please say if changing ingame gold to ingame crowns is the Terms of Use violation or not?

Why is anyone sharing a F2P game?

Edit: rhetorical, obviously since it just doesn't make sense.

    Free to Play?
    Lets see:
    • You need to pay 230$ to be even able to play.
    • Then there was nessesary to pay 50$ monthly to be even able to play each month.
    • You need 128$ to buy the biggest pack of crowns because it's the cheapest one.

And before you say that one beer in club costs you 8$, and Cheeseburger and Cola in McDonalds is 5,50$, or cinema ticket is 20$ when you are on a Student's discount and it's Thuesday:
    1. I preffer to drink beer 3-4$ at home where it's quiet, nice, I'm under my blanket and can fart as loud and as often as I want to. And pick my nose.
    2. I can buy 2l of Coca-Cola/Pepsi for 5$ and drink it as much to be able to roll around my house from being so fat.
    3. Why is anyone even going to cinemas these days? At home no one is talking, I can pause whenever I want, watch when I want, and I'm basically as free as I want to, even my "ticket" from "The Bay of Corsairs" is 0$!

And, before you judge me for being a bad, smelly pirate, I don't see a difference between watching Harry Potter form Streams and Torrents, and watching it from free public TVN TV channel. And when buying movie on DVD I need to watch it as often as I can, even few times each day, because I invested money in it so why they should go to waste?! </sarcasm>

And coffee? I don't know what this everywhere mentioned Starsbuck is, mine coffee is from Biedronka.

You see what I did here?
I switched from mine currency to "yours".
Oh, and I forgot to mention that minimum wage is 1355"$" per month. So it's like... 8"$" per hour?

You see, I'm not mad, my reality is just different than yours.

In example my boyfriend didn't even know that you need to pay for WoW. That's why he was a little bit upset when I told him I pay 50$ each month to play a game. He's a little bit like Winnie-the-Pooh when it comes to more sophisticated topics as subscription fee, but he was sure WoW is free, because all his friends were not too rich and they all played it. They even compared their servers, one said that on one he plays exp is 10x bigger, other one said they have a better launcher with a naked lady. Oh, and I almost forgot, my friend was once really sad because they couldn't push new patch to server and they decided to reset whole realm and delete her lvl80 toon.

So because of that I'm glad they use megaservers for ESO because it would be much more difficult to emulate 50+ sub-machines on "Ur Mom's PC".

So I think I already answered to your question. When I want to play WITH SOMEONE, like with my BF, we have 2 accounts, but I can imagine having a younger brother who won't be 2manning Veteran City of Ash with you and he only wants to smack some mudcrabs with his dwemer hammer. So what's the problem with letting him create a separate alt and play as you were ALWAYS playing, as brothers, sharing your mutual PC, with your mutual games changing each 2hours?

Terms and Conditions are created to make things simplier and more fair. And we should look at them having that in mind.

So while wife playing on her husband's account on her little alt when he's at work should be fine. But playing 20h/day on one toon by 3 different people only to get the emperorship/farm lots of gold/do other naughty things should be prohibited.

If someone is really willing to spend 360$ at once on his little brother then please, send me your poop, because you're clearly shitting with diamonds.

@Khamira $1 doesn't equal 1 zł. You're misleading people when you say you had to pay $230 for the box. Subscription cost is no longer relevant in a discussion about recent ToS violations as ESO hasn't been sub-based in over a year, and crowns aren't necessary to play. You're right that ESO isn't F2P (it's B2P), but your explanation is kinda iffy.

As I said, for most of people it's 15 "Something". But for me it isn't. It's 50 "Something". So why not to explain to people how I FEEL about paying for something and how untruth is calling that "Free to Play".

I would really buy an account for everyone including my mothers' sister's father's uncle's brother if it would cost 15zł. But it's 3-4 times as that. I want to support this game as much as I can but even then someone says that it's free or (quoting someones post from my memory back from 2014) "Sub is cheap, you pay 400 Moneyz for a cheeseburger, if you don't eat it you can pay for 50 subscriptionz!".

    And that's pretty annoying.

And part of that issue could explain why people share or used to share accounts. I sometimes buy games on Steam that I never played but I heard they're nice, and 15-20 "Moneyz" once per 2 months is not that bad, but I wouldn't buy a game for 150 "Moneyz".

And when I used to buy games like that...

...ok, I wasn't buying them, they were a gift from someone and we played it with my sister switching each 2 hours.
