Templar Gear

I have a V1 Magicka Templar that I am leveling to be a healer/off-dps. When solo PvE, I'm generally full-on DPS, but I switch to healer/off-DPS if I group for grinding or normal dungeons. I've been reading some conflicting information about what gear set-up would be best at my level. Some say Kag's with Torug's, others say Warlock set with Torug's (interestingly enough, I found 5 pieces of Warlock while grinding). I was also told to wear 2 pieces of heavy in PvE since I do not yet have the Undaunted Mettle passive. Here's the question:

What gear set, including ratio of H/M/L, would be best at my character's level given his skill set and ambition. I would like to take him to PvP as well, so please recommend a good PvP set. Just a reminder, I don't yet have the Undaunted Mettle passive.

Kagrenac's is a very good set for pvp, so if you want to do both, then kag's is my answer.
I would suggest you use 7 pieces of light armor for now, less you want to level the other armors.

Spell power. If lower level WGT is an easy farm on normal for it. Combat physician is pretty good too.

If you have undaunted then do 5/1/1

I have been playing with
3 eye of mara
3 seducer
2 (can't think of name now) but it gives extra spell power

I rund restro staff on both bars. All of my sets are crafted. I don't have maelstrom restros so using the above. Seems to work pretty good for me as main healer and some dps. Obviously dps solo works! I'm vr8.

Wow. Your magicka pool must be pretty large. Do you find that your heals are less efficient but you're able to cast more often?

What would you add to 5 Kagrenac's? Torug's or possibly Julianos? I guess the real question is what do healing spells benefit from the most, spell damage or spell critical? If damage, then Torug's would seem best (with a slight boost to health); however, if critical, then Julianos is the logical choice.

5 Kagrenac, rest Torug. For Accs, warlock's one are kinda good for that lvl.

For your question about Spell Damage or Spell critical, it really depends how much criticals and spell damage you have atm, and how much CPs you have. What mundus are you using ?

Combat Physician is kinda bad. I tested it, it only procs on one person at a time. You'd do better with SPC or Kag or Julianos at v16.

Personally I run 5 kags, 3 willpower, 2 torags, and a Kena shoulder. 5 light, I heavy, 1 medium.

Sounds like you are aiming to run exactly like I do, primary healer in group pve / trials, off dps.

I run a couple different setups in pvp but kags is the main component. If you have questions, feel free to shoot me a message.

Thanks! I think I'll wait to farm SPC until I'm v16. As for CPs, I'll have to log and check but I believe I'm sitting between 200-250ish.

Yeah, so I think kags is the best all around. Julia is give about 100 more spell damage buffed and what 5%(?) more crit? Kags you get regen, max magick, and health...plus you get a awesome rez speed. My philosophy to healing is max damage build, with healing spells. Need more regen for healing? You get it the same way DPS characters get it, heavy resto attacks, channeled focus, potions. If you absolutely need more regen, swap mundus and food/ drink. That's it...with a max damage DPS build, you get the strongest heals possible. Julianos is is amazing though...trading one potato for a tomato out of a thousand potatos...not much gained not much lost

If your looking for PVP I would go 5 Kags unless you have farmed or the BiS gear out of WGT and ICP.

Julianos is a great sett but crit is completely negated in PVP by so much as a puff of smoke shield so your effectively negating two slot bonuses in PVP with Julianos somewhere between 20 - 80 % of the time.

Heavy cheat
Medium legs

Monster helm and shoulder of choice if you have them. If you don't you could 2 TP swords 2 anything max magica or 4 seducer

Willpower jewelry if you can if not 3 trinimacs in jewelry is not a terrible sub until you can find willpower.

PVE I would go Julinaos or TBS with thief and shadow mundus stones are very comparable

Kags is a nice all around not giving up to much not OP choice, plus the Rez benefit synergies nicely with Templars
