Create a third party website specifically for consoles for trading, pricing, and management. Games like Diablo 2 didn't have any kind of auction house or pricing valuation so the player base created a website for specifically selling items. It eventually became the standard for trade and bled into the game.

I was just thinking today the easiest way to improve the economy without making huge changes to the way ZOS designed it would be to radically increase the number of items you could list at once.

A better search/interface would be a huge improvement too and is sorely needed, but 30 slots per guild is a ridiculous bottleneck in the system that should be incredibly easy to fix.

I agree it's not a well constructed system, and only being a recent new player I find it really disheartening that selling or purchasing items isn't more accessible. At the moment the economy is highly segmented.

Here's some real examples from my experience over the last 2 weeks since I started:

As a buyer if I'm short of (for example) a rune for my Enchanting Daily I might as well skip it. I could spend almost an hour (manually) searching every Guild Trader in the hope that not only does one have it but it's also priced worthwhile enough that I'm not actually losing money by doing the quest, but it really is not worth the effort. I'm better just waiting for the next daily.

As a Seller I've got very little hope. All the guilds I've come across want you to deposit weekly sums to have privileges to list items. And even then unless that guild makes a guild trader for that week then you're only advertising to a very small handful of the population. I've got a number of items that I know would sell but it's just not worth the constant maintenance to get them sold.

I know other people may think differently, but as someone coming in with a new set of eyes whom wants to contribute to the economy it is currently broken in its current state, being closed off with limited accessibility to both buyers and sellers.

A global auction house without search function would be even worse. And with a search function as provided to pc players via Addons, the guild stores are just fine.

Also, I'm sure text chat will be limited to subscribers, or you'll have to pay a crown per word to use it, and it will be limited range local chat that can communicate with a max of four nearby players.

I disagree. In fact there is another thread going right now where this is being voted on. Between this new one and some old vote threads, most people prefer it to stay this way. Personally, I think a global auction house would destroy the game, my fun, my bank roll and so much more. It would just be an undercutting fest till everything was garbage.

•Enable text chat on consoles later this year to help players – if they wish – to communicate zone-wide with other players, have easier access to emotes, and be able to chat with others using text instead of voice. This will be optional, and we will continue to fully support voice chat on console as the primary means of communication

its zone wide and optional it will be part of the base game. like the combat text is. you don't pay 1 crown per time the combat number that pops up ;)

EDIT: because if they make it for subs only they could only talk to others who sub making it useless.
and everyone will be mad and rage quit

this happens or everything instantly goes up haha I have seen both happen once an auction house is introduced. cus anyone selling low will be bought and sold higher and then there will only be that persons price and they will make money long term it takes some time to get started doing that but in the end you win. if you can afford it. or AH comes and sometimes it tanks @Gidorick has a good idea for this type of thing though.

Sounds like console trade leaders need to l2t. charging players to list. makes no sense to me. Its beneficial for them to have more people listing...

They should just make local auction houses.

Make a real auction house with a search feature, and all listings at the same NPC, but every major city has one - 1 per alliance would be best, one in each capital; or one per major city...but that's still way too many auction houses lol

Would still create different prices at different places, but it would be more convenient than the garbage we have right now.

I know, how dare they do things to encourage subscribing. Subscribers should have an XP penalty, take double damage and have to log on backwards uphill in a tutu. Encouraging subscribers is a good thing for the games future.

Or maybe just see subscribing as a great way to get to use text chat, without it being flooded by immature crap from free to play players.

So basically I'm hoping it is sub only. It won't be though, as it would have severely limited use then.

If you don't like the interface on your squishy game box, get a platform that allows you to play games like ESO in their full glory. Game boxes don't have enough horsepower to play games like ESO, and they are forced to dumb the games down to cater to the kids playing on game boxes.

I don't mind the guild traders, but the interface is horrible. There is one very simple, and very easy way to make it much better: Allow us to sort items by name. This function already exists in the game in our banks! Why not in the stores? There is ZERO logic on why it is not included in Guild Stores.

When I'm looking for a specific recipe, I don't want to strain my eyes against hundreds of results only to find it not there and have to go do the same thing at another guild trader. Or specific runes for enchanting.

I have a gaming pc, and I started on eso at pc launch. I took the transfer to ps4 because most of the people I play with don't have gaming pcs.

Unfortunately there's no way to transfer back, and I'm not about to lose all the character progress I've made since moving to ps4.

Well we have issues on PC too, people fiddle with Master Merchant addon prices, because a lot of players trust what the freaking addon tells them.

They don't understand that the Master Merchant pulls information of sales within the guilds you are in, and only those. It counts minimum and maximum prices of items that have been sold and sets the price at middle.

The biggest trading guilds tend to sell some really expensive items for noobishly low prices, such as Kuta that is around 8k and they sell a few of them through the guildstore for 20g - those small cheap noobish sales will force everyone in the guild's Master Merchant price to show Kuta a bit below 8k, so guildies who trust the addon will sell their Kuta for cheaper prices in that particular guild. - Because they have these cheap prices compared to the other guilds in the same area, they will get more costumers and more sales.

More sales = more money into the guildbank of that trading guild.

Master Merchant is a good addon if you want to sell armor sets, and you wish to know what the price of those items can be ~30%-/~30%+ in price.

The search functions of guildstores are horrible, eyewatering, annoying, close to impossible at big trading guilds for certain items.

You can not search for trophies -
Items such as Treasure Maps, Psijic Ambrocia fragments, Bone Shards etc. are considerate trophies.

Because you don't have a search function for trophies specifically, you have to click the "show all" tab and browse through the pages at the start, to get to where the trophies are.

You can not skip pages when you search.
Each page have a cooldown of a few seconds, before you can click on the other page.
Imagine you are browsing through a 500 member veteran trading guild store, and you have to buy a trophy item worth 5k. You have to browse with the seconds of cooldown through 400+ pages before you get to items worth 5k.

It is utter rubbish and brainlaggingly primitive system. I don't get why they continue to force players to spam local and zonechats, download third party addons on their machines or create accounts on shady websites, to be able to trade treasure maps.

And these are just some of the issues with it.
