You have no idea what they were fixing/preventing in the Sign-in system or account system. But to shut the servers off for five hours just to anger @itzeffect ? Try to at least act intelligent.
But even while they're working on that (and they are working on it), there are still other parts of the game and other systems that need to be maintained and patched.
That's what this downtime was for. Some of the other stuff.
I understand that the lag is frustrating, but you and people like you think that you can just scream about it on the Forums, and the Support team can somehow just snap their fingers and the problem goes away.
These types of major fixes need to be fully mapped out and planned in-depth before ever touching a line of code. The fact that you're asking for everything else to be put by the wayside until the lag is fixed in one aspect of game play also shows that you know nothing about how an online company is run. The loss of revenue from putting everything aside until @itzeffect is happy with the levels of lag in the PvP portion (and make no mistake, there will always be certain levels of lag in Cyrodiil. There's no way to excise it completely) would kill the game.
So calling something you don't even have a passing knowledge of "pointless", is in itself pointless.
Just because they didn't fix the one thing you wanted, does not make the maintenance pointless.
I'm not saying lag is the one and only problem and i demand results, i am saying we have yet to see any real proof they are working on the big problems in this game, also i am not alone in this argument, they are losing tons of players due to *** like this, they are just trying to make as much money out of this game as possible then dump it and work on their next game to suck the wallets from every gamer
I'm done. You're still in your frustrated/pissy mood, and you're not listening to sensible explanations.

ZoS mentions the lag issue on almost every ESO Live episode. In a recent episode, they detailed their plan and the steps they are taking, have taken, and are planning to take to try to solve the lag issue. Along with a plan to improve the technical side of the server, they are also trying to implement abilities and gear to try to change the way people pvp currently. They hope both these layers of their plan combine to help improve the performance and stability of their servers.
Whether you like their plan or not, you cannot say they dont have one, that they dont care, or that they are doing nothing.

Zeni has communicated as much as they possibly can about how server lag (especially in Cyrodiil) is the foremost thing on their plate as far as fixes are concerned. As I said, it's a HUGE job (I know from personal experience), and they're working on it as fast as they can without breaking the rest of the game irreparably.
But no, none of that seems to be good enough for you.
So why don't you cut through the pretentious s***, and tell us exactly what you'd like them to do. Because apparently what they're doing will never be enough for you.

Just because they didn't fix the one thing you wanted, does not make the maintenance pointless.
I'm not saying lag is the one and only problem and i demand results, i am saying we have yet to see any real proof they are working on the big problems in this game, also i am not alone in this argument, they are losing tons of players due to *** like this, they are just trying to make as much money out of this game as possible then dump it and work on their next game to suck the wallets from every gamer
so basically, you just took this opportunity, that has no relation to your point, to point that out...again?
"hey guys, we're patching the login servers"
"wtf?!?! you patch the login servers and there's still lag?!?!"

gets a bit old that someone has to always shamelessly plug that same old song in almost every post no matter what the subject
maybe if it is complained about enough, we will have results
Because apparently what they're doing will never be enough for you.

i never said what it was for.. this is my exact point, maintenance for pointless problems within the game or problems that stop players buying things are top priority while they ignore what the players tell them
You have no idea what they were fixing/preventing in the Sign-in system or account system.

I'm done. You're still in your frustrated/pissy mood, and you're not listening to sensible explanations.
I refuse to talk to a wall.
what is it that makes you think you know all and can talk down to others? take your head out your ass and realise there's more to this world than your opinion
okay so that does not mean you are above all others
What my career does do is allow me to point out that you're calling server and system maintenance "pointless", yet have no idea whatsoever what goes into doing it. And you're complaining more that they didn't halt all other business operations just to fix the server lag.

your essay is too long its useless
if ZOS working on fixing PvP lag as necessary, it will be fixed, patches will be rolled weekly/monthly
but they are barely doing a thing, however, did you take a look at the crown store? there is also a new DLC coming
with few bugs that will be fixed in the DLC after it
