Just a suggestion if the OP does future polls, include an option for typical or average. After all, some folks might think. TG quest line was on par with the rest, not that much better or worse.

Me, I made my vote one of the best and meant it.

I haven't gotten really far but I will say that it seems to be more straight forward but there are a lot of OH shoot...whats that...<wonders off to new shinny>

Not sure why the post was created but context of the OP's ideas are welcomed.

Worse than Oblivion, but better than Skyrim. Morrowind's wasn't as much a quest line as it was a series of tasks requiring you to steal different items.

You got it. So let me explained what I liked about it first.

A couple of missions were enjoyable such as the wedding and the tomb quest, but mainly the wedding because it had a James bond feel to it. Other than that, that's it. The plot was awkwardly predictable, and man the Thieves Guild members were just terrible. I remember the Thieves Guild being hardened members of society that met in secret, and were rough around the edges. Quen was boring, Viras (the dark elf, I forgot the spelling) was lame, and the flamboyant Argonian's only interesting moment was when he was trying the change the perspective of an old acquaintance. Other than that, the majority of the dialogue just made my eyes roll. I'd take the gray fox or the nightingale any day over this.

Now what I'm discussing specifically is the plot. I think you guys are confusing that with the mechanics. Now the mechanics were excellent! Trespassing zones are a welcomed addition, hiding in barrels is a cool addition, and reminiscent of metal gear solid; although I wish you could grab and murder people passing by the barrel (dark brotherhood addition maybe?), and by far heists are the most enjoyable addition to this DLC. I love skill-based challenges like this.

So to emphasize my thoughts, the mechanics, and the addition of heists were great. The story and characters were just horrible in my opinion. They did so much better with Orsinium.

The main problem is a lack of stakes. I don't care about anything in it. Lets look at all the other main quest lines in the game.

Main Quest: SAVE ALL OF NIRN from a Deadric Prince's attempt to merge hell with reality.
Mage's guild: Steal back your floating island which is locked in another dimension, while dealing with the Miester of Madness himself.
Fighter's Guild: Forge a powerful new weapon to use in the fight against Molag Bal. Plots, Intrigue, and help from the Deadric Prince of Riteous Fury.
Craglorn: THE SKY IS ACTUALLY FALLING
Imperial City: Direct continuation of SAVE ALL OF NIRN but with a dystopian, secret plot back drop.
Orsinium: Restore an entire nation to glory. Plots, glory, revenge.

Thieve's guild: We used to steal things but we arent very good.
Quen: My dad was a thief.

Its hard to go from these incredible, dystopic realities to people going "no really, i am a good thief, i wont even prove it to you."

Admittedly, I havent finished the story line but the most interesting moments so far have been the ambush with the Giovesen Skull, The Tomb revelation and the "one lockpick" moment. Its all written well enough but I was 100% expecting Nocturnal to show up...or something epic.

The delves are super fun and the stealth gameplay is a nice break though.

Doesn't really feel much different other than the fact you do it with thousands of others.
Storyline was done almost the same way as Skyrim's, especially the ending.
    Sometimes, I dream about...cheese...

Dermont - v16 Pompous Altmer Sorcerer (With a very arrogant face!)
Egonieser - v16 Nord Stamina Dragonborn Wannabe
Endoly - v16 Tiny Redguard Sharpened MaceBlade
Egosalina - v16 Breton Cheesus Beam Specialist
Egowen - v16 Dunmer Whipping Expert (Riding crops eluded her)
(Yes, I had to grind all these to v16)
Akamanakh - lvl 22 Khajiit GankBlade (Inspired by Top Cat)
Targos Icewind - lvl 34 Imperial (Future) Jabplar

    thanks...makes sense.

Once I get further I may completely agree with you.
I did confuse the mechanics with the plot too.

I enjoyed it, but it was far too short. The new TG passives have made my Argonian Nightblade a rich lizard though...

Hmmm not a bad idea. I've taken all of my skill points out of the werewolf skill tree; maybe I'll put it all in the Legerdemain and TG skill line, and see how much gold I can make in a short period of time. =]

    In this order:

    1. Oblivion
    2. Skyrim
    3. ESO
    4. Morrowind

Oblivion had like this great questline that ended with the ultimate heist: the theft of an Elder Scroll from the WGT. Skyrim introduced the Nightingales and the bond between them, Nocturnal and the TG. Morrowind was pretty meh

While the story in ESO TG is pretty great and well thought out, I find the final quests a bit lackluster compared to Oblivion and Skyrim

Well it was definitely better than Skyrim's storyline for the Thieve's guild but Oblivion's one was the best by far for me

Hmmm yeah I think you're right. The quest line in Morrowind was pretty forgettable (Best main story by far though). The characters in Morrowind were at least a little less lame though, but this quest line may just be slightly better due to the superior mechanics, and more creative quests. I agree with you on Oblivion being number 1 followed by Skyrim though; Gray Fox FTW!
