Not sure offhand, but every player can check this themselves.

Go to any crafting station, make sure the option to show only known and have mats is turned off so you can see all. Then set the item and level to what you need made. Set items don't take any more or less than normal ones.

The only things that will be different per player is the upgrade items, with full passives 2 for green, 3 for blue, 4 for purple, and 8 for gold quality.

My apologies, the person crafting the items for me said certain sets take more or less mats. This is untrue?

If they don't have the passives, the upgrade material requirements will be significantly higher. That said, those costs are per piece. So for a full set of armor, you're looking at 14 green, 21 blue, 28 purple, and 72 gold. If you're also making weapons for the set, each one will be 2/3/4/8 as well.

The type of the set doesnt change the quantity (kagrenacs), the amount of pieces, the type of pieces and what level they are changes the quantity.

    Yes it is untrue.

Sets require that the crafter have researched between 2-9 traits on a particular item they want to craft, before they can craft it.

The amount of materials required for crafting a set or non-set item may differ, depending on the desired level.

Iron Ingots = material used to craft armor and weapons between level 1 - 14. Let's use a dagger as example:
    • level 1 dagger = needs 3 ingots
    • level 4 dagger = needs 4 ingots
    • level 6 dagger = needs 5 ingots
    • level 8 dagger = needs 6 ingots
    • level 10 dagger = needs 7 ingots
    • level 12 dagger = needs 8 ingots
    • level 14 dagger = needs 9 ingots

The amount of materials required for crafting gear between level 1 - v14 are somewhat decent, v15-v16 is the little "special snowflake". If a level v15 item requires 15 ingots, a level v16 will require 150 ingots.

Zenimax wanted to make it hard to gear up for v16.
