Brian made a few posts on performance this week and those had been the only ones in weeks from anybody. This is a dead horse that's been beaten excessively already. Some attempts to get them to communicate are nice and encouraging, some are blunt and lack patience like mine, some are just pure desperation. Either way they would communicate if they wanted to and/or if they actually had a plan in place.
When things get difficult and they make mistakes, ZOS tends to go completely silent and pretend like things are fine. Meanwhile I get more than weekly updates as a CU backer for a game busy trying to shift to beta than I do for a game that's been out for two years and should be at a point where it's coasting (if it had been managed properly).

We're being blown off. I try to avoid saying never, but at least up until now, ZOS has been unwilling to invest in finishing Cyrodiil. It is my opinion that the decision was made to put Cyrodiil on "life support" during the spring/summer of 2014. Whatever the case may be, ZOS leadership has determined the best course of action is a kind of whitewash to limit bad PR by not validating our concerns with honest responses.
It should be apparent to all by now that ESO launched before it was ready. It was not even feature complete. Since launch, ZOS has been focused on finishing the PVE side of the game. ZOS has also shifted lanes based on how the market has changed. When development began, this was a game being made for MMO enthusiasts. It is now primarily a game for the mainstream fans of Skyrim.
Now that the PVE side has found its stride, will ZOS now finish Cyrodiil? It's impossible for us to say. I tend to think the ultimate solution to PVP in ESO will be instanced PVP and Cyrodiil will never work as advertised.

Hey, thats not fair, SC is a 100 mio dollar project and has the resources for daily communication with their backers!! ... ZoS on the other hand ... oh ... wait... nevermind.

Put those together and presto, you get the way things are. I can understand why devs might favor the cautious approach, though I wouldn't mind more of even the boring, somewhat repetitive info. But the corporate culture at ZOS is what it is. Hopefully we'll get a pleasant surprise reveal of some new assets they've been working on in the near future.
