I thought it was pretty funny.

It's pretty obvious that they were deliberately trying to be over-the-top / cheesy / campy. That's cool with me.

But then, I have a pretty banged-up sense of humor... watching too many episodes of Mystery Science Theater 3000 does that to you, I guess... Damn you, Manos and your Hands of Fate!

I wouldn't question their marketing team if anything they are keeping the game in cash.

Now, the game design/balance/combat team, they are actively trying run people away from the product.

Their is quite a bit of empirical evidence to suggest the company knows it's end game product is lacking and therefore they are constantly marketing to new players.

Never saw the two ads with the woman. Those two ads would honestly turn me away from the game. They are cheesy and just plain terribly scripted and filmed.

My favorite ad of all time was the one with the large PvP battles. Displayed 100% fluid action the entire time. I wish that was true, one of the few reasons I actually purchased this game two years ago.

Those first two commercials were awful. Very, very bad. I'd be seriously embarrassed to be associated with those.

The third one was okay though. Did a good job of describing the game and showing the scenery, which is really the only type of ad they need. Would have been better with a different narrator though; that guy was very monotone and seemed out of place.

I was a filmmaker for a few years, and in my experience, this is what happens when bosses/clients/etc know what they want and refuse to listen to sound creative advice from someone who actually does the work and knows they're talking about. They have an idea that's attractive to them in their head, and instead of thinking about how it's going to feel to people/demographics watching, they think about how much they like it. I guarantee you the people who made this were cringing as well.

Its pretty similar to a lot of the NPCs dialogue ingame. I did giggle as I watched it.

The first one lies at the end though and the irony is totally off the scale:

That Skyrim advert is fantastic though.

This one has one significant complaint about that video.

Where are the khajiit?

How can you promote the Thieves Guild - of all things - without khajiit? That is like trying to promote elves without using big ears and a nose in the air.

As far as this one can tell you think only Elf, Nord and Breton are worthy heroes yes? Not one significant marketing campaign yet has had khajiit at its heart.

Well Santie is also a hero. This one has drunk the warm, fusty ale of the Rosy Lion and lived. She has spent hours standing in puddles of cold water looking for fishies. She has completed 68 jobs for that Countess with a hoarding issue.

Khajiit are heroes everyday - not just in the big flashy battles that you have your movie cameras pointed at.

These ones will not take this any more. We will take to the streets and ...

Hold on. This one needs a nap. Khajiit will take to the streets later on after some food and a rest.
