Can someone explain why they can't make 100v100v100 happen again?

It's not that they can't. It's that they won't. The netcode is drastically different now. ZOS has no interest in repairing the damage they did to PvP by reverting the game back 2 years worth of bad patches. Their business model relies on PvE, selling XP, and crown store cosmetic items.

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out why they would mess up the massive pvp battles the game used to have. Why would they hurt their own product?

They also put to much crap in there for PvE so people can have a jolly oh time wondering around the emptiness it sometimes have to offer in end games. Sure I enjoy PvE but I mostly go to PvP to have some fun on there. But hey PvP is nothing to them. Let's just keep selling PvE for no reason cause people wanted Thieves guild, Dark Brotherhood, and such. Just hopefully whenever they release Dark Brotherhood there better be change to PvP mostly. And also stamina build balance with Heavy Armor Passives buffs or changes to them.

You know - theres a lot of trailers for it. You dont have to look hard. Ill grab you one.

That game in that video doesnt exist today. It doesnt work if you tried to play the game in that video.

Did you ever play this game on PC? Or are you xbox only? If so - the part of the video directed towards console-only players should resonate a bit more with you.

I followed this game for years, and a lot of PC/console players did. Also - pointing out these issues dont exist on console really isnt accurate. The biggest xbox streamer agrees that performance is hindered in a big way, and many players from console have messaged and commented how they experience these issues as well. Discussion is welcome - denial is embarrassing.

Your wrong about that video, played PvP the last few days for like 8 to 10 hours straight each day and its pretty close to that video, only difference is you move around a lot more then in that one scene in the video when they are standing there fighting each other.

The discussion isn't about what advertisement got you into the game. It's about whether PvP was advertised as being a main feature of the game, and it's a fact that it was. Just because you got into the game for one advertisement doesn't make all of the others invalid.

Well thats what that other guy was trying to say lol, for me though if it had of been only advertised as PvP I would not have started playing/ bought the game in the first place. It was advertised as a "MMO" Not PvP only.

When this game launched, there were no trials. No DSA. No Maelstom arena. PvP was Endgame. It was the ONLY endgame activity and the only reason to get your character to max level.

PvP was the pinnacle of this game's achievement and the crow jewel of marketing campaigns. So many people joined the game after seeing the epic siege battles.

But everything changed when the bot nation attacked.

Well ok you maybe right, Some people joined for that reason, but not everyone, I didn't , I really disliked PvP, still not very fond of it but have been playing a bit since the servers have thinned out, less lag, less ganking. The Non Cp and the CP enabled is a good thing in my view.

What he wants is to ultimately hold ZOS at ransom by creating a support base of followers that are all apparently "anti ZOS and anti PVE" and want ZOS to meet all of their demands. It wont happen.

Begins with talking about how long he's been playing for and says BS such as "I can see whats coming with ESO"

All I see is a very large ego that cant handle ZOS not listening to a word that comes out of his mouth.

The horrible game footage the whole "The game is gone, they cant bring it back. There is no amount of changes that can bring it back" hahah it literally sounds like he's trying to do everything to stop people playing ESO. Its all for pride because ZOS wont give his lame ass the time of day. He's lucky Im not a part of the company because I would simply ban or delete his account or even make the RNG or his damage ridiculously to stress him out even more.

Dark Brotherhood/Player housing so what? Because it isn't PVP ZOS shouldnt bring two of the highest demanded additions to the game?
ZOS make PVE DLC because TES are PVE games. If you dont like the PVP, TES or ZOS just get on your bike and play the many other games you compare it with on the forums every other day.

and btw, wtf do you people even want added to PVP? All I EVER see is "I miss the good old days of PVP" but WHAT do you even want added? All your ideas conflict with each other but ultimately its because "Fengrush" says so. Its like a little rebellion against ZOS haha "lets all join the rebels because that means we have our own voice!" the complete opposite effect is happening you crowd following rats

You know what I want added to PvP?

    A freaking working server.
There is nothing wrong in demanding proper fixes to the performance which has been degrading for years. You can hate on Fengrush or any other streamer, but it's the truth. The performance is crap and it's unacceptable that is has been left in this state for close to 2 years. I could play this game's PvP during beta and release on a *** macbook pro better than I can on a super expensive way too over geared high end computer (performance wise) these days. That's simply not okay.

But sure, someone like you who only plays PvE is never gonna understand the troubles that plaque Cyrodiil. Go whiteknight ZoS all you can, I wish you the same lag and the same crap we have to endure. You would get of your high horse rather quickly, believe me.

Correct, i dont agree with what is going on. Like i find it incredibly hard to believe they didnt know the cake was bugged. It was one single item being launched, thats it. They had to know it was bugged and knew people would buy XP stuff off the crown store to stack which would make them money.

I appreciate them posting his videos because I don't visit YouTube for same reason I don't visit imgur on my own free will. I'll wake up from a stupor and realize I just wasted 5 hours of my life browsing videos and pictures.

Plus I really enjoyed his TG review. It resonated the same feeling I have.

Like I said I have nothing against him or his videos. But what I've seen from people who consider him (Lord Fengrush) they are usually angry and disruptive, they get very combative when others don't agree. Several threads were closed due to this.

I agree with some of what he says but don't agree with the mass who follow him trying to combat players who don't share the same view as them.

Plus, despite all the protestations to the contrary, they turn each such thread into just another PvP whine-fest and then complain bitterly when it gets moved to the PvP forum.

When the game was released, it was infested with bots. Bots everywhere. Wherever you went, there was a bot farming a delve boss or farming flowers. They forgot to add anti bot measures into. So they did it a few months or so after release. They moved more things to server side instead of client side. It worked with the bots, they were never seen again. But Cyrodiil with its large amounts of players and abilities and everything? The server couldn't handle it from that day on. And ever since then, we've had lag in PvP.
    That was the bot/lighting patch.
ZoS never admits mistakes, which is way instead of reverting it and trying to do the anti bot thing some other way, they kept pushing patches, worsening performance in the process.

I lasted to 9 mins 43 seconds...k...pvp, zos are working on a fix for the lag...arenas are coming...with duels coming at some stage too, I dare say. To say that pvp'ers have been left out to dry doesn't quite ring true. Atm zos are making eso a familiar TES game with as much of the features one can expect, and yep, that means pve stuff. But that does not mean that zos is totally neglecting a large chunk of their player base: wheels are in motion, you just got to stick around for the ride....

There are Dolmens in Cyrodiil too, you know? I didn't see one boss, I didn't see skyshards, I didn't see guild traders, I didn't see trials, I didn't see a solo arena, I didn't see people gathering materials, making gear, leveling up etc...All I see is a faction fighting another faction getting interrupted by demons (another faction?). PVP brah. I PvE too don't get me wrong, but the majority of their trailers focus on the Alliance War, which is a GIGANTIC PART OF TES LORE

Only problem I had was long loading screen at peak hours. Which is quite annoying for sure. Plus the game crashed maybe 2 times each day.

This was vet non CP campaign.

The argument wasn't if PvP was like that video or not. It's if ESO advertised big PvP fights as a main feature. It Did. Look Up.

Dont need too, this is the Video that got me into ESO looks like mostly PvE. I dont think Molug Bal is a real person... so thats PvE

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XH9fCA3dmGc

    Opps and this one

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIlFMSyIOk0

You know what's funny, those aren't even "PVE" trailers lol. Idk if you noticed or not but they are fighting a WAR give or take some "monsters" thrown in for cinematic purposes.

The entire PVE story is based on the lore. The games are TES games. PVE solo casual like all the other TES games. I find it ludicrous people thought those trailers were advertising the PVP side. I dont see any zergs. I dont see any keeps. I dont see any horses running for 20 mins to get back to the fight. I dont see any monster armor vendors. I dont see them waiting until they have enough AP for their gear. See we can both do this.

    Getting Back on topic,

I love both PvE and PvP, and I totally agree with @FENGRUSH here, I was on PC since Beta, got my pets to show it, and PvP was Awesome in the past (we had extremely epic battles with so many people and now it is extremely laggy and has alot of issues, I switched to the PS4 when console Launched (even though I still have my PC account, which I use from time to time and check and test the PTS when new DLC's are dropping) hoping that the PvP would be better but it is not.

It seems ZOS will do whatever they want with the game and they refuse to listen to the PvP community and the Hardcore gamers on Changing things. They only do one way communication, from them to you, the players. Now Gina Bruno and Jessica Fulsom (the English community managers) are awesome and do the best they can but of course they will tow the line since they work for the company.

I agree with everything FENGRUSH basically says, I was there as well and I saw what it was like in the beginning of the game and stayed when so many people left the game, then Console Launch came and I am still here on the PS4, its been over 2 yrs and the game has made great improvements but work still needs to be done. I love the game, and the things that the Dev's do sometimes really make me angry alot of times and I accept most of it but PvP / Cyrodiil needs to be fixed and Only ZOS can do it.

And the reason I stay with the game, other than loving it and the community, is that I still have hope it will get better and ZOS will fix PvP / Cyrodiil and make the game so much better than it is..

    I guess we will see..

PS- I am not a Fengrush groupie, matter of fact, I am a AD only guy (all my Characters will only ever be on the Aldmeri side) and when I was on PC, I Got killed by Fengrush and his group more than a few times, he is DC, and I hated him for it because he is such a good player but I respect him and SypherPK for being the awesome players (amongst many others) that they are and aspire to be as good as them..

The lag get's worse with every patch they release. There has been one actual PvP change that the community has asked for since IC, a siege damage update. That's all we got in seven months. Any attempt to fix it by ZOS has only resulted in an increase in lag and more bugs in game. If arenas are coming then we won't see them any time this year. If they are anywhere close to IC then they will be bogged down by PvE content that we don't have any interest in, and closer to an unfinished testing environment than actual developed content. PvP was the major feature of the game when it launched, and a lot of people got the game because of that. Any time we try to engage the Devs in the PvP forums all we get are "Be nice" or "We'll pass that along." post from the CMs in an attempt to placate us. Unfortunately the ride for most of the PvP community is coming to an end very soon. I love ES games and TESO's combat system, but as a PvP player I'm not going to play a game that can't give me a fun environment with minimal lag, and decent class balance.

You dont understand how being hardcore works. You being hardcore makes you one of a small group of people. No matter if its a video game or tennis. I see a lot of entitlement out of players who have played the game longer or who have been playing MMOs longer. Simple fact is your money spends no differently than the casuals money. Except there is far more money to be made off casuals. They pay for plus. They buy $50 assistants.

Meanwhile hardcore usually means you dont pay them anything except when forced to like IC for example. So I can understand why they listen to everyone and not just you guys.

I'm guessing the proof you are looking for will entirely entail circular logic or straight up conjecture.

    Which isn't remotely "proof".

"You could have 100v100v100 at one keep and it wasn't breaking. The game ran fluidly, it was an epic siege. That's the game they built. It's gone. They cant bring it back. There is no amount of changes that can bring it back."

^^^This. They obviously made a business decision on what route they would go in the future and PVP was not a priority for the future. As people always forget, their #1 goal is to be profitable, it is never to make the best game.

Great, its a business, they need to make money, they need to be profitable. Maybe they should have done a little market research on what population they were selling to then before building a *** ton of hype around pvp and then not delivering. When you think about the idea that "its a business and the first priority is to make money" and then you look at ZoS - doesn't that say something about their integrity and their planning? They are being manipulative and deceptive to their customers by making promises they aren't delivering on and they are basically driving the entire game with a creative process and not at all looking at the quality of the game in its current state.

I won't support that, its disgusting as a business practice. Whether or not players think the game is good, if players are ok with being treated like *** and lied to in exchange for a quick fix, they need more self respect (maybe that will be available at the crown store though in a future patch but who knows, no ETA).

I also think its a shame the long-term players who are feeling burned by the shift in the business model are being treated like they are dumping all over the developers and community. If anything, they are trying to warn players that committing to this game and this company has felt like a long-con that has been running for a few years now and that sooner or later, you may start to feel the same way.

The problem I have with that idea flyguy is that if you build an amazing game, the people will come, but what ZoS has done is taken a loved brand name, promised to add an awesome pvp experience, and then slapped a giftshop to it. That's all. They haven't actually tried to create something more than a business, which is how you make a great game. Because MMOs are not just businesses, they are communities too. For me, I have no interest in spending my time wandering around a giftshop being like "oh check out these awesome keychains, this is so epic" because ZoS failed to deliver the community they promised and are just backpedaling - I will tell them straight up that their practices are shameful and stop supporting them. Contrary to popular belief, consumer decisions do matter - if for no one else at least for your own integrity.

Don't get me wrong, I love the series, and I have loved many aspects of the game - but for me to continue supporting it, I have to see that, at least generally, their is some effort being in to create a quality product, transparency, and engagement in the pvp community. When I look at it, I don't see that happening anymore in the pvp environment.

If you are getting extreme lag anywhere but cyrodill in a large fight its probably on your end someplace. I know I know other games work etc. Other games servers dont use the same routes etc that ZOS does and vice versa.
