Money making

Is there a decent way to make money with stealing? I'm level 22 and you can only fence so much any help would be great.

Keep it up, eventually it makes a decent amount every day. I get about 9,000g per character doing daily stealing. I'm lazy however, I grab everything in sight including weapon and armor racks; as long as its not gray or sells for less than 10g. Whatever I can't fence I decon for parts, its not a lot but great for skill ups.

When you get into VR levels, there are some places you can farm a lot of chests to get your rank up and sometimes its okay to skip "freeing" certain towns to farm steal. Malabal Tor first town is a good example, if you do the first half of the beginning quest it gets rid of the hostile NPC's, but the town is still pretty much empty. You can steal all you want from the crafting area and the armor shop as its deserted, but still counts as Stealing.

I believe you can unlock skills in the base game which increases the amount you can fence each day

If I was you I'd just grind and kill mobs at that level, that's what I did and you'll still make money but you'll level aswell. Might be a good idea to deconstruct most things you get to level up your clothing/blacksmithing/woodworking as you're leveling.

I made decent money stealing at a lower level and the key is just finding a spot and relogging. In EP, there's a house in Windhelm just on the left to north east of the inner city refuge. In DC, the Daggerfall bank. In AD, Vukhel Guard bank.

I put skill points in the first fencing increase but I don't go any further as a skill point for 10 slots doesn't seem worthwhile. Although, I did have days where I just couldn't steal anything because I had so many stacks of 'treasure'.

I obviously focused on green/blues/purples but collected the whites initially. When my inventory got close to max I would leave any whites that I didn't have (as they didn't stack) and take all the highe value ones. When you're fencing, make sure you sell the items which have the least amount in the stacks first as it'll clear your inventory faster.

If you really want to make gold at your level, try farming some bait and/or raw medium clothing materials in a low level area and join a trading guild. On PS4, stacks of 200 go for 3k-8k and ~10k, respectively. Raw blacksmithing materials go for a bit more but they're so much more difficult to farm.

Very nice to learn anything stolen thats not white will stack. I must give that a go as l could steal stuff for 6 hours strait and do some real console work with out my backpack complaining about being too full.

Selling raw material is kinda stupid. Last time I had in 10 refines 3 rosin (gold upgrade item). But yeah sometimes you dont have one in 50 refines. Its gambling deluxe

For me works the best to grind in v10 area's. Usually there is a spot with fast respawns and you can make a full inventory in 30 mins, sellng stuff its worth 10k and you even level up your character. Never tried to make much money in low level and I think I totally failed there since it took me to level 42 before I had the 40k horse :D

The fencing limit is per item, not per money. Meaning if you waste it on fencing low-profit white items, it will be quite a tradeoff... however, its a time-vs-profit thing.

If you have little gametime, steal everything and fence it, lower profit, but getting to your limit in the gametime you have. if you have lots of gametime however, take the extra effort to be picky - only steal the higher quality stuff, burglar lockboxes for better finds, and so on, to make the most of your fencing limit you can.

Also remember that laundering is seperate from fencing in daily limits, and some rare things like purple crafting books or recipes are better to launder and sell in guildstores then just throw at the fence... ;)

All the others stack as well, it's just that whites are more common and as they're lower value I only get the ones I have when inventory is low

@Omg_Pwned No, it's not stupid. At level 22 it's unlikely that OP has maxed extraction passives so selling the raw materials will be more beneficial.

What is stupid is giving a level 22 advice on farming a V10 area

Be picky about what you fence, only steal green or blue items.

I wondered how lucrative stealing would be. I have a maxed out Nightblade who had almost 50 unused skill points, so I got every Legerdemain and Thieves Guild skill that gives money, makes heat go away, makes pickpocketing easier, etc. I can sell 170 items a day, Haggling gives better prices, and I find that I can pull in around 10K a day without a lot of effort. Could probably go over 25K if I really pushed it and only kept the best stuff to sell. It's a massive moneymaker.

Just collect everything, farm all nodes possible...

    Crafting materials sell good...
    • stack of 200 provisioning materials = 900g - 2,000g
    • flowers go between 17g per flower to 500g per flower, depending on what flower it is.
    • solvents/ water for alchemy goes for 15g-40g for the waters between level 20-40.
    • stack of 200 rough wood goes for around 3,000g-4,000g
    • stack of 200 cloth goes for minimum 4,000g.
    • stack of 200 ore goes for minimum 5,000g, but is usually around 7,000g.
    • certain low level blue and purple recipes sell for 450g-30,000g.
    • Warlock set items between level 17-30 goes for 500g-30,000g

...btw. these are the prices on PC/ EU, so they might differ on the platform and server you play on.

At low level I stole everything from the markets like weapons armour. The best way to both level and make money at your level is likely crack wood cave. It's popular thoug so expect to get killed.
