Well to be fair here, the Vestige isn't on the level of the Skyrim, Oblivion or Morrowind Protagonists, basically what the Vestige is, is a normal person with a unique factor that makes them able to come back to life.

By comparison if the Dragonborn or Nerevarine is the hero then the Vestige is one of those countless random Bandits in that fort you just cleared...one that annoyingly keeps respawning but that's pretty much it, hell the Vestige can't even beat a large majority of enemies on their own, people mind you who someone the likes of Dragonborn would consider "weaklings" the Vestige would be more on the Agent or the Eternal Champions level.
