I suggest going into small groups if you want to minimize risk of losing TV stones to gankers.
Gaining TV stones also goes a lot faster if you have a 6-8 man group for example.

However, TV system does suck as the stones are worthless. I have 250k TV stones and nothing to spend them on now that repora are a dime a dozen.
More useful items for TV would be great!

Your last sentence is totally false, in my experience. Every time I've rolled with a group larger than 2, I've seen a drastic slowdown in TV stone accumulation. Maybe that's because my build is optimized for grinding, though, I don't know what others experience.
There are other problems with large sewer groups, too. They always seem to want to drive down the center (where Molag Bal is), and that's the one place where even a large group is in danger of being ganked. There are actually ganking crews who lurk in the center, just waiting for a group of chumps to roll by.

The only way to get PVE players there for you guys to kill is to make the stones not drop. Thats why the area didnt sell very well and thats why there is noone there now. PVE players dont like it and PVP players dont like it. Was a terrible idea to have the stones lootable. Someone was thinking they could make this into a PVP game by doing it.
Come to find out PVP players didnt even want IC. They want a lag free experience with PVP objectives free from PVE. PVE people dont even care about dying they just want to keep their currency. So the solution is going to be complicated. The first thing they could do is turn off player looting. That would help a bit but really the entire DLC was a horrible idea and needs to be completely redone.
Putting up a post decrying an entire area simply because you don't like it and find it difficult to play is simply selfish. I assumed trying to take away someone else's toy because you couldn't or wouldn't play with it to spoil the other's fun was something we all gave up when we became adults. Apparently I was wrong!
The mechanic where you lose your Tel Var stones was a brilliant move on the part of the developers in my opinion.

I am a magika templar and I have no way to escape, as soon as I get ganked I either have to kill or be killed and sooner or later i get killed, specially when I'm fighting a mob and dropping low then i get ganked or when i get zerged.
I cant go back to store them ever 100 I get it would be insanely tedious .
What's the point of this stupid system??? At least drop like half but all???
