I added up the /played stats on my characters, and it comes out to 1956 hours. That is almost 245 8 hour workdays. That is crazy. How many of you are ESOholics too?

    Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

    Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
    Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
    Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
    Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
    Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
    Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
    Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
    Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
    Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
    Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

    When this game was about to come out, I posted on Facebook that it would cause me to get divorced. Hasn't happened yet, but partly because I bought a gaming laptop so I could do all the grind parts while watching TV with my wife and talking to her. Otherwise I'd be toast.

    I'm in my 50s. Also work/commute 60 hours a week, help my son with his homework every school night, and do a lot around the house. It helps that I have lunchtime gaming on my laptop. Been in since Beta.

    That averages out to like what? about 2.5 hours a day? Doesn't seem all that unreasonable.

    Many people passively stare slack jawed at the TV for that many hours every day. Especially since the societal plague that is known as "binge-watching" was engineered by Netflix.
    What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.

    I get an hour at lunch, and during TV time at night. Friday night is gaming night where I get about 4 hours. Weekends it depends. I've just been consistant, not missing a lot of days.

    Dual monitors and you can binge watch Netflix / Prime while playing ESO :)

    I'm somewhat happy there isn't a counter on console, at least this was I have a degree of plausible deniability :/

    My play time is 1600 hours +. Take in account this is over a 2 year period.

    About 500 hours in total since I got the game in May '14. Have never got a character beyond level 45 though. I get bored and start over.

    My current character, first NB, is at 142 hours and is level 41. Could say that I like to take my time :)

    Sadly....mine is double that..on console so since June 16.

    But see how most of us feel guilty..... why should we, we enjoy it and we are not hurting anyone - as vices go, it's not so bad :)

    I don't feel guilty just have to put up with the sarky comments from teenage sons about what a rubbish game I play (as if the ones they play are SO much better & even tho they loved Skyrim).

    Sadly, I deleted numerous characters that I had invested a lot of hours in just because I grew bored with them... so there is no way to know how many hours I've played total. I know I've taken numerous characters to level 50, some beyond, before deleting, but I know every day off since I started ESO almost a year ago I tend to play 10-12 hours every day I have off... so roughly 150 hours per month x 10 months... that's 62.5 DAYS spent playing ESO. ;)

    There kind of is a counter on console, at least on Xbox one. In the game hub, there's a section for hours played, it'll always display the total hours of the last character you were logged into. You could then, essentially, add them all up that way, but it would be kind of a pain to do.

    Also, since at one point I decided to do a total reboot on my characters, most of my original ones with a lot of hours no longer exist. But I do manage a ridiculous amount of hours per day. Around 6 to 7 hours a day, on console, while working an 8 hour a day job 6 days a week with a half hour commute to and from while being in my early 30s with no kids.

    Moral of the story: the older I get the less of a life I have. Seems the opposite of how it should be. And I blame ESO....

    This view makes me feel a bit better. It IS a better vice for me to have than ten years ago when I was drinking way too much and threw myself into a financial mess I only just in recent years pulled out of.

    1538 hours on current characters, but I have deleted 4 that probably account for another 400 hours or so. You ever play a character for a while and just get bored with them?
