When she was rescued in the Fourth Era by the Last Dragonborn, she admits to having no knowledge (and quite a bit of surprise at the notion) of an Empire with Cyrodiil as its seat.
This means she was put into the ground before the Alessian Conquest of Tamriel, which makes Serana ancient even by Divayth Fyr standards...
Divayth Fyr though... there's a Dunmer I'd love to run into during my travels.

The "Conservative Right Wing" here in 'Murica would have had a collective stroke had they included that in this game.

How long did Serana say she had been buried there?
ha nice. She's never heard of the Empire in Cyrodiil so she's been down there dusty for a long time.
This is why it would have to be the First Era unless she was clueless about history, which would seem odd for someone who was clearly part of the gentry (I believe her father was a King was he not?). The first human Emperor was an Empress, Alessia, though her rule didn't tie together the whole of Tamriel. Emperor Reman did however gain control of most of Tamriel. Tiber Septim is the one who manages to actually conquer through warfare and ambassadorship all the provinces of Tamriel. Its been a while but it may be that she specified being shocked that a human emperor ruled the whole of Tamriel, I don't believe that is what Serana said in the storyline though. At any regard I'm fairly certain Serana is a late First Era vampire, predating Alessia.
Serana is most likely from the late first era and went to sleep in the mid 2nd era maybe a century or so before ESO takes place.
