Serana?

Actually, Serana is late First Era/early Second Era.

When she was rescued in the Fourth Era by the Last Dragonborn, she admits to having no knowledge (and quite a bit of surprise at the notion) of an Empire with Cyrodiil as its seat.

This means she was put into the ground before the Alessian Conquest of Tamriel, which makes Serana ancient even by Divayth Fyr standards...

    ;)

Divayth Fyr though... there's a Dunmer I'd love to run into during my travels. :D

I agree. He's a strange fellow but I found him to be overall an okay guy, apart from some creepiness with his clone sister-wives (I've recently wondered if the original had died off and he couldn't bear to lose her so he had multiple made). It would be neat to run into him particularly if he has his Telvanni mushroom tower on eastern Resdayn at this point. My understanding though is that much of Telvanni development exists on islands east of Morrowind.

This whole thread gives me nostalgia!!!!

It is just that she is a Daughter of Coldharbord and I thought there was some realization with Molag

    Bal's presents in the game...
While it would have been nice to include certain aspects of Molag Bal's character into ESO (seeing as he's the main antagonist); the how of one becoming a Daughter of Coldharbor is too much to show for even a Mature 17+ rated game.

The "Conservative Right Wing" here in 'Murica would have had a collective stroke had they included that in this game.

    :D

Lets also be honest, do we really want to see a prolonged *** scene with a monster? I don't. Forget about being prudish, I just don't think some images are good to place in your head. There's a reason soldiers come back messed up: they see things that aren't good for you to see. I recall when US soldiers were being beheaded by the Taliban and other groups for jihad. I really don't think watching people be slowly decapitated with a dull swiss army knife is a good thing - for anyone. We are aware of dark things done in the world by people, but do we really need to have it all on camera? What purpose would that serve? Sometimes I think less is more. I don't need to feel the total revulsion of watching a murder to know it happened. Its just something to think about, and I'm pretty sure even much of the liberal 'left wing' of Europe would agree with me on this. Many European friends of mine think it is ridiculous how prudish we are about sex, yet we are so open to violence in our film/culture. Food for thought.

If I worked at ZOS, I'd troll Skyrim fans by opening up Dimhollow Crypt when the zone opens, and have a quest that goes there. All throughout the crypt you hear a woman's voice (Serana) and maybe see a projector and then . . . The way to the final level down to the crypt is blocked. Sad times. Lol.

How long did Serana say she had been buried there?

ha nice. She's never heard of the Empire in Cyrodiil so she's been down there dusty for a long time.

This is why it would have to be the First Era unless she was clueless about history, which would seem odd for someone who was clearly part of the gentry (I believe her father was a King was he not?). The first human Emperor was an Empress, Alessia, though her rule didn't tie together the whole of Tamriel. Emperor Reman did however gain control of most of Tamriel. Tiber Septim is the one who manages to actually conquer through warfare and ambassadorship all the provinces of Tamriel. Its been a while but it may be that she specified being shocked that a human emperor ruled the whole of Tamriel, I don't believe that is what Serana said in the storyline though. At any regard I'm fairly certain Serana is a late First Era vampire, predating Alessia.
Actually Aleesia was early first era, she was the one that over threw the Ayleid Empire in the year 242 1E, the only Vampires that predate her would be the Likes of Lamae Bal and a few others, I heard somewhere that she was turned in 105 1E.

Serana is most likely from the late first era and went to sleep in the mid 2nd era maybe a century or so before ESO takes place.

That's very interesting. Your statement makes a lot of sense.

Reman really only ruled over High Rock, Skyrim, and Cyrodiil which fell sometime in 2E 430, that leads us to the Interregnum that ESO is still in (2E 582). Serana was most likely put in the crypt a bit after Reman's reign ended, as her dialog (to me at least) did sound like she was surprised at the idea of the Empire ruling all of Tamriel, especially when in her time the Empire appeared in decline.

Did Serana's mother trick her into getting in that tomb or was Serana a will person?
