It comes down to common courtesy. If I'm on a character that is high above the zone, I deliberately use light attacks and let the lowbies do most of the work. I do more if it looks like the need help.
So if I go to Glenumbra with my main, put on my Jester Costume and dance around on the fountain near the house where lvl 3 chars emerge in order to welcome them, I'm ruining the game?

Absolutely. That is Such a disturbing costume.
I suggest you roll up a cute buff dude, dress him up in the scanty pirate outfit, and greet newbie ladies.
What if they added a down-levelling mechanic like Guild Wars 2 has?
In that game if you go into a low level area on a high level character you still have all your skills, equipment etc. but all your stats (including those from your equipment) are scaled down to be equal to a character at the appropriate level. The fact that you have more and better skills (plus some quirks of the scaling system I won't get into for the sake of post length) mean that you're still able to kill things more easily, but you can't go around one-shoting everything so low level players have a much better chance of gaining credit for participation.
Personally I think it's a great system but I'm aware some people don't like it (although I've never really understood why) and I don't know how easy it would be to implement. It might be something that needs to be built into the game from the start.

As dolems respawn very quickly, you really have no reason to complain. Just go back to it in ten minutes, or, be greatful for the quick clear. The XP is a handful of individual mobs is nothing on the XP you get for that high level player killing the Dolmen. That player would also get no chest, but you would.
So... Yeah...

V16 players should hold back if they see a bunch of lower level players getting ready to go it.Period.Let THEM wait 10 minutes.Let the vet wait for the Dolmen to respawn. They are only one,and if they come along and take it fron a group of lower level players that's kinda rude.
Why should lower level players be the ones to wait for a Dolmen?
Just askin.
Because it's in a low-level zone. The people who are the appropriate level for the zone should be given precedence. Always. Is hlvl player time less important than low-lvl ones, and that's the reason they have to wait?
Why you think low-lvl XP is more important than hlvl achivement?
I guess the difference is that most of us are under the assumption that you should act like a decent human being who has some consideration for others. You clearly don't feel like you have any moral obligation to act like a decent person. And even if there is a group of low-lvls, what is exact reason why hlvl should wait - argumentum ad numerum?
Sorry, but just because I can wait, does not mean that I should or especially have to wait.
Exactly my point. You shouldn't need someone to ask you to do the right thing. A decent human does the right thing regardless of being asked. If you're in a zone intended for low levels, then let the low levels experience it the way they're intended to. It's not rocket science. If someone have asked me, i'd probably wait, or just do only minimal amount for achivement to trigger.
But it's only my own choice to be polite in that particular situation. Next time I can simply ignore request and there would be nothing wrong with it.
lol and then you come up with this after going on about how it's perfectly OK for you to be a giant *** and treat other players like garbage... OK then buddy.Level is just a number, what is important is human behind that character. Treat others how you'd like to be treated.

I go with assumption that when you are referring to other human being you should treat them as you want to be treated. And decent human being does not start call other names just because he doesn't agree with him. Also when you are speaking about general politeness and in same paragraph you start to call other people names, you just sound like a hypocrite, and it does not exactly help to prove your point.
I don't agree with your point about special consideration for "optimally leveled for content" players. First of all by your logic, just because i had "right" level for zone, I`m more important than any other (lower/higher) player who happens to be there, and basically all my needs take precedence above those unlucky guys.
And one more thing:
As you said, decent human being does not have to be forced to act in decent way. Think about it.
There is no moral high ground for low level players against high level players. Or rather, no player is more important in any way than other.
Virtue and decency is when one acts from his own consideration, not when under any type of pressure.

Don't judge others by your caliber. I don't (any many people too) need additional rules and terms to act like decent person
There are lots of ways for high level players to get their achievements without interfering with players who are at the level those areas are intended for. You choosing to disrupt their gameplay and make sure that they don't have any fun rather than show them some basic respect is the definition of acting like a ***. And no matter how much you try to justify it as "oh I just don't think they need special treatment just because the zone is intended for them and not for me" you're still just justifying being a selfish ***.And disagreeing with giving anyone special status or excuse for special treatment is not justification for acting like an ***.
Yes, and you're being called on it right now.I put it more bluntly if you need it: Every player is equal. No one is more (or less) important than others. No special treatment for anyone. No privilege just because you are <any adjective>.
And if someone will act as an ***, there will come a day when he reap what he sow.
