The month long wait for consoles is ridiculous

Simple... because PC players are the Live version beta testers for consoles. By playing on PC pre-console launch, it gives the devs time to begin working on patches since Sony/MS require a lengthy 'approval process' before anything goes Live on their servers. So by releasing Live on PC first, it helps them begin working on fixes that can then be submitted for Live in a timely (within a month) process. If this wasn't true, then consoles would have the bugs for two plus months... one month to work on fixes another month waiting for approval to go Live.

And then we can lol on PC when they get the exact same version with bugs that we got anyway.

Go back and watch the ESO live in April about consoles. It was briefly talked about.

Bottom line is console stuff has to be certified by each and PC doesn't .... either you get crap updates with no scrutiny or you wait and get some bug fixes and a working game cause it's certified with few or less bugs than PC

Well basically the reason why they do this is because sony and microsoft own the consoles they have full control over them, unlike pcs which they don't really have any control over. You can say they are protective with their software, basically psn, and xbox live, and they don't want anything that could break their system.

Viruses and other things could hurt a console so they have to make sure a patch is safe, and uploads the content themselves. Maybe problems in the past with this sort of thing, so basically the companies of both consoles, prohibit addons or mods, because of the fact they could hurt the console if someone uploaded a virus and that addon or mod was exposed to xbox live or psn then the mod will hack into it and hurt the console forcing them to fix the problem.
Basically they are both touchy when it comes to patches and other things. They possibly don't even allow downloading things that is not vetted and approved by either. I am not sure about this but I think the consoles have limited internet settings and will not allow any virus downloads and possibly have a very high antivirus firewall on normal internet apps that they control You might not even be able to download anything from any site not approved by either company.

Also consoles themselves are limited in design they are meant for single player and co op multiplayer gaming only, not much for mmos they do have mmos on consoles but thing is it might take months for some of them to receive new content that was released on pc months and months back. So your lucky Zenimax is able to get content and patches to you when they can.
Like others have said sony and microsoft require zenimax to send in the patch for inspection they might even say no to the patch and zenimax can do nothing and you could be stuck with bugs longer or for a few months.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but PC and PS4 in FF actually plays with each other, so there's no way for them to release DLC for one platform and delay for another :)

From my understanding its Sony and MS bureaucracy, its that slow.

Just another reason it should never have been released on Console. Then with an already fractured and limited team working and rushing to get two releases ready- they could focus and put out something decent on one platform

I was little bit of afraid first, but after a few month, console was the right more, theres tons of HC-players out there.

There's no bureaucracy from vendor side, it was on previous generation consoles, now it just a myth for players and an excuse for developers who don't want to respond.

Xbox and Sony require a certification process they send it in 2 weeks before it launches on console and we wait for the to say okay. It's not Zos fault it's like this for every game quit crying.

Don't believe this is the case.

Hundreds of games come out on different platforms (including PC and consoles together).

    Don't believe everything you read.

If ZOS wanted the release dates the same, they would have done it.

Probably by juggling the pc release date.

EA did it with Dragon Age: Origins. The pc version was finished when EA decided that it would release on consoles as well. The pc release was pushed back until the console version was done. That's why the Stone Prisoner was released as "day 1 dlc" because it was actually like 6 weeks later dlc.

All of you people on console are mouth breathers if you think Sony and Xbox don't have some type of certification in place and ZOS isn't going to hold back PC release for console very few companies release content at the same time and if they did they intentionally delayed PC release dates. Good lord just continue to give console players bad names with the lack of comprehension you guys have.

Both companies very much have a cert process, and it's specifically because they offer product warranties. The certification process is in place to prevent software from causing fatal errors in Sony or Mircosofts hardware which then either company for be on the line to fix.

The majority of consoles are under either the purchase or some form of extended warranty. So it's a sound practice for both Sony and Mircosoft to make sure 3rd party companies don't break anything they'd be obligated to fix. I have many issues with the proceedings of both corporations however, I can hardly fault either for protecting their genuine finanical interests. I'd certainly do the same.
