Use rapid manoeuvres. Then just run without sprinting. Gets u around fast enough. Or at least it used to. With current patch speed in general has taken a bit hit for some reason....

    It's a bug.

When i am playing my characters that use stamina i find i am forced to always use my mount instead of just sprinting place to place. The reason being that after sprinting around an area i am left without enough stamina for my next attack. Magicka users do not have this inconvenience and are able to cast a flurry of attacks after their sprint. I suggest some sort of passive ability for magicka pures that reduces the physical exertion of sprinting therefor using magicka to sprint instead of stamina which would make things a bit more fair. Could call such a passive ability something along the lines of (magic assited movement) or (magicka infused steps) or perhaps even (spellbound runner)

For leveling purposes, I personally put the reduce cost of sprinting trait on my armor, problem solved. At end game you probably have a mount that is much better than simply running around and you probably have the wayshrines unlocked. Dungeons have no need for sprinting if you are in a good group and in PvP the locations are so far apart it would be idiotic to simply run. During PvP fights if you need to close gaps use a gap closing skill.

As previously mentioned, stamina is about physical skills and running/dodging and CC breaking take physical effort. The only thing I think that could be changed here is if you have a fear or other mental type of CC on you and in order to break that you need to use Magicka.

Maybe the solution is not to put all your eggs in one resource basket and not be a "pure" anything..?

So much talk on these forums about how "magicka" build or "stamina" build can't do something. Instead of asking for changes to everything all the time, try balancing your build, learn to manage your resources or recognize that min/maxing will leave some gaps in certain situations.

How running can stop me from shooting an arrow covered in poison when a light attack takes the same time and has the same range.

I hate to say cause it really dumb and weak but well fitted helps with that.

^This, totally. Again, my sorc is total magicka build, but CPs/pots help to make up the difference/get my stam back up if/when I need it.

What about leaving the stamina bar for abilities and using the same, thinner stamina bar that mounts use for sprinting? Could be an idea. I'm not really fussed either way but I can see where folks are coming from.
Yes this is along the same lines as i was thinking, having it seperate from mount stamina would be more ideal.

I'd love if I could run a football cross-field using rainbow farts. But I can't. Stamina drain is a realistic mechanic and why the stamina passives are called things like endurance and conditioning.

The wizard archetype isn't athletic, trading physical power for spell knowledge. The warrior type is athletic, but getting tired/fatigued is the trade-off.

I find it pretty funny that you used the phrase "realistic mechanic" as an argument in a game with mythological creatures/animals casting spells and fighting each other.

Nightblade gets something like this in the form of Blur. Sorcerers get Streak and Boundless Lightning. In a way what you're asking for already exists, as long as you're not a DK or Templar. Dk/Temp can nudge a little speed boost with blade cloak, but that costs stamina, and I consider inferior to the previous two abilities.

I could see this as a 5pc set bonus. People would complain about it being useless, but, it might be just what some stamina builds need.

Roll Sorc. Use Bolt Escape. So it is already in the game. You can thank me later.

(To Vangy's comment above this) doesnt stamina already involve sheilds? AKA blocking? Or do you mean damage absorbing spell type of sheild? If u could clarify please. Personally i think using stamina for healers is too far but there are already stamina based skills that already do group heals to a certain extent, IE (heath funnel) in the siphoning skill tree, but this is only a minimal amount of healing so not the same as a full out healer build..

Blocking? Block is in a sad sad state even for tanks in pvp. Blocking turns stam regen to 0. Dodge rolling increases in cost every consecutive roll. My stam pool is shared for both defense(dodge/block) and my offense(abilities). My dk/nb has to deal with these penalties whereas my sorc can keep hitting hardened ward a 100 times and my mag regen is to the point where I won't run out of mag anytime soon. Moreover her stam is reserved for break free and this in no way affects her offense because mag and stam pool are seprate. All this is balanced because of the way stam and mag work. Stam can run longer and break free more times vs mag And that mag has more utility. What I'm trying to say is that I feel that things are balanced the way they are.
