If the tank doesn't take aggro from bosses, the tank is bad, not your fault. If it's on packs of mobs and your dds can't kill them fast enough, they're bad and need to think about their gear/rotation/... not your fault. Healing Springs should keep them alive + breath of life/repentance (if some mobs are dead). Just ask them not to run far away from your healing circles/healing abilities, or they'll die and it'll be their own fault. If you're out of magicka before mobs die, hum, maybe ask your dds if they're doing their job. I really don't see what to say about that, mobs are just mobs, they're supposed to die quick. If you need magicka during fight, use pots and heavy attacks. If you're not playing with PU groups you can add Mystic Orb during packs of mobs to add little DPS and gives magicka back to the group. Also, what to do with DD when it takes agro from tank? I went a few dungeons where all the mobs are on DD. I try my best to keep DD alive, but if others don`t kill mobs fast enough, eventually I`m out of magicka and... we are all dead.
As a templar, kagrenacs is stupid effective. My personal suggestion is to have at least 50% crit. After that I would go max magicka, max spell power. Having regen is overrated. Resto staff, dual wield swords off bar. For your main heal, go with mutagen or rapid healing. Bol is good to have for holy *** dudes are dieing quick, but you do NOT want to use it often, BOL spam is reliant on regen builds, therefore making everything else you do weak. While your fighting, you make sure all have the rest staff heal up, and on you off bar, start dosing. You notice somone being a *** and dieing due to not mitigating properly, heal em up, making sure your magick NEVER gets below 50% for oh *** breath of life moments. With this build not only are you putting out the strongest heals in game, you are able to put out CRAZY damage numbers. Pvp capable as well.

Totally agree with this !
@puffy99 2k Magicka regen sounds weird for me in PvEWhen do you need that much mp recov ? I only have 980 and I'm never below 40% magicka (and i don't use channeled focus). Remembrance is the worst ulti of the game, if you want damage mitigation, Nova would do the job (better cause it's 30% for 10,4 secondes against 23% for 4 secss for remembrance) + it adds dps and stuns mobs for 5 seconds. If you don't need damage mitigation use meteor, aggressive horn.
I did all these dungeons with my 975 mag regen, i never ran out of magicka (EDIT : my magicka never goes below 30/40%). Even in PU groups (cause I do dungeon with PuG everyday)... These are really easy dungeon. I don't use healing springs myself so even if people are running around that's not a problem for me. BoL isn't crappy but it's not a spammable skill, you don't need to (even in bad PuG), you're doing something bad if you need to spam it (even with a bad PU group), same goes for Remembrance. The difference between Kags and Seducer is about 300 magika regen vs 250-300 spell damage.
COAv16 often requires a *** load of regen, same with Engine Guardian and Also the last v16 Boss in believe in Fungal, first V16 boss in WGT also since everyone unless you have a good tank is running around.
Can't tell about the other, but as I said I do it everyday, on every char. And yes, I played with bad PuGs (very bad PuGs >.<) and with good one (it's rare though).I tend to think many of you don't heal PuGs but that is just my opinion.
That's normal, if someone is below 50% i use BoL too, but it doesn't happens that often enough to put you oom or almost (even with 975 magicka regen). I'm not saying you should only use HoT and don't use BoL, I just said i don't understand why you need so much magicka regen (2k+) while i'm doing fine with only half of it , even in PuG.Plus if I see two dudes below 50% I hit BoL and boom they are 100% my regen is good and I can go back to spamming shards, sweeps or general DPS that takes far less time that trying to position a situational HoT when the boss is on the move.
So yeah that is a pure healer build I get that.. I still don't know how you get by with that little regen but you probably don't throw many shards I would guess or do much other than staff attacks. No RO execute?
Mine like a lot of people is more of a hybrid and also suited to PvP without having to go full julianos, unless I want to swap it out. You can add in DF and RO and spam that in PvP without swapping the gear out.
good build- thanks
Hello,
I recently started playing ESO and I play for altmer templar (rank 1 now). I want to be a healer but I`m terrible at it... At least now. I die alot and my heals seems to be not effective at all... I read some guides, but they all seems to be outdated.
I kept last slot for sun shield to get some protection (can`t get it now because I just started leveling aedric spear).
I read very very old forum post (it was written in 2014) that blessing of protection is good. But now as I look into newer guides - none suggest to use it. Why? It has decent heal + magic resistance and armor.
Some suggest using entropy, from guild mage tree, to make heals even stronger, but I didn`t noticed any significant effect and it just takes up a slot...
Also does health over time stacks? If before fight I cast Rapid Regenartion and then put healing spring, do they stack?
In other words - what healing skills should I use for best payoff? And of course - to keep my party and myself alive.
Now my healing tactis are very simple and not very effective: before fight I use Rapid reg. + Repentance. During fight I always try to keep healing spring on the ground, around every 10-15 seconds buffing again with rapid.reg+repentance and when neccesary I use Breath of life. During dungeons I don`t switch to my destruction staff - if I have time I do some damage with restauration staff + it heals party members. How should I change my tactics?
Also, what to do with DD when it takes agro from tank? I went a few dungeons where all the mobs are on DD. I try my best to keep DD alive, but if others don`t kill mobs fast enough, eventually I`m out of magicka and... we are all dead.
Other important thing is gear - now I wear Seducer set, 5 pcs and 2 pcs of heavy armor. Why heavy? Because as I said - I`m terrible. I die... a lot. And I want to have some survivability. But does such build works? Yes, after adding some heavy armor I don`t die as much, but it seems that my magicka drains up faster. Maybe I should only use light armor and stack it with armor enchantments?
So the questions here are
a) What set would be best for healer? (now just for PVE). For people new or asking for advice, 5 piece Seducer. The other pieces should be Mara's Gift or Magnus.
b) Can I mix heavy and light? See above
c) What enchantments should I have on staff and what would be best on the gear? Gear: see above. Weapon: Precise
d)What kind of mundo stone should I choose? (Now I use Boon:the ritual, for increased healing but it sucks a...). Thief is by far the most efficient for healers. Atronach isn't bad, but you are better getting magicka recovery from your gear and the using this Mundas.
Any tips on healing skills, tactics, gear, enchantments and etc. is very apriaciated.
Be helpful guys, maybe one day I will heal you in dungeons)
DW gives you more spell power cause of the last passive of the DW skillline. Wich means better heals. It won't cost you stamina cause you won't use DW skills, it's only for more spell power. You'll use your magicka skills (such as BoL, radiant oppression, structured enthropy, ...)Also, if I switch from destruction staff to dual wield - won`t it mean I will need stamina? I don`t quite understand how dual wield templar works, since I mostly invest in magicka to be able to heal.
Already answered this in my previous posts ^^Any tips on how to spend champion points?
I don't use it in PvE, my oh *** button is BoL, but it's not a bad skill cause it heals + gives a good shield if you cast it on someone with low health. I use it in PvP though. And what about the shield ability on restoration staff? I use it now on me when do skyshard farming/quests alone. I went one dungeon as DD and healer there used shield and I liked it pretty much.
