Apparently people complained and like most of the gaming industry today Zenimax pandered to forum complainers so no free reset but atleast next DLC well get a free reset since so many complained about not get it this time around.
Xbox One - NA GT: RebornV3x
I also play on PC from time to time but I just wanna be left alone on there so sorry.
This is what happens when the devs listen to casual gamers who join the community to do nothing but complain and actually quit playing after 6 months or less. Devs take their whines into consideration without thinking of their loyal player base who will stick in the game until the end of times.
As a result the loyal community members get to suffer the consequences that some whiner who doesn't care about the game's future caused. It's a sad fact that happens everytime.

Is there no Skill or CP reset? Things are drastically changed and I have to pay gold (or crowns) for my reset? Or is there something I'm missing?
Nope.
PC and Xbox had no resets, PS4 doesn't get one either.
Whiners. People and their toxic whining about having to spend five minutes re-allocating their Skill and Champion Points caused Zeni to leave out the reset this time.
Which directly caused me to spend around 20k Gold to re-allocate my points due to changes made to various Skills and Champion constellation nodes.
Don't get wrong, the Gold isn't an issue and I'll make all of that back in a day or two, but still...

They say they are working on a way to do the resets without having to reset everything for everyone, but it was apparently not ready for TG.
As for forced resets, this is great for some players, horrible for others. If they cannot do a system where the player gets to choose (see above) then the proper thing to do is to do nothing.
Think what you will, but it is a lesser evil to make a knowledgeable player who realizes they need a change pay for it themselves than it is for an unsuspecting player to log in after a maintenance only to find that CP and skills have been reset. The changes made in this DLC are not so drastic that existing characters must be reset.
And, unsuspecting? Just this week we heard from a console player who was commenting that his box downloaded 13 GB of fixes, not realizing that a DLC was being released.
