How can you spend 1300 on this game?

I mean like, what is there to actually buy that costs that much?

I've spent the cost of three DLC's, but that came in the form of subbing to get the most of the money. I won't sub again until two months months dark brotherhood now.

    I'm guessing wedding dresses.....

    Bout $400 here

$400. One account subbed monthly since PC release (less 60 days I won in a guild auction). Two other accounts purchased on sale. I'm running around $.25/hr played (not counting the two accounts family members play on).

It seems clearly that those big spenders have no patience and wish to immediately upgrade everything, I have only purchased the game and the 2 dlc, you got the bear mount as an alternative with wrothgar which is great and the bear cub too. Patience is a virtue my mount is maxed out with not a penny spent my bank is almost maxed with not a penny spent and I'm a very happy bunny after seeing how much has been blown to achieve what I have for free

    $300.

$80 for original purchase, roughly one year of sub, $50 for recent DLCs.

Just under $300 total (from prerelease two years ago to now.) I have a spare 5500 crown pack that I bought just because it was on sale so I'm set for a little while.

As mad as I was when they switched the payment model after the first year, it has saved me over $60 so far and based on some of the responses here, they seem to be more than making that up from other players. Sounds like it was a good business decision.

Well, this basically shows, their business model works and this game will be around for a long time, as long as we can enjoy the game and are not plagued with too many bugs and performance issues.

I think ESO is fairly cheap compared to some of the other MMO's.

I was reading a topic named "Cash Shop Hero's" on another gaming forum. Someone spent like $300 dollars in 30 days on a different MMO.

those free2play are the worst - their pay2win shops with RNG item boxes cash in lots and lots of money from whales and collectors. And 300 dollars is like nothing, I have seen people spending 10 times that in Archeage, buying lots and lots of RNG boxes just to have a tiny chance to get a specific item - it's insane.

-The game was $15 on Green Man Gaming (PC Download).
-I had to buy the 750 crowns package to have enough to buy a standard horse for 900 crowns (because as a Level 5... getting a horse for 10k gold is very possible according to ZoS Logic).
-Decided to get the $15/mo ESO+ thing.
-Bought the max crown (5500) offer when it was cheap (about $24).

    Round it all up... $61.97.

    £70.38

£12 for the original game, £20 for the Imperial Edition upgrade, and 2 5,500 crown packs (one half price).

I still have about 7,000 crowns left so it's going to be a while before I spend any more.

What I have sent to ZoS is just a few hundred (game + sub + a few crowns).

But my other hobbies are swordfighting and horseback riding so this is still my cheapest hobby by far. :-)

Cost of the Imperial Edition in May, 2014: $79.99
    Monthly subs since then ($15.99 x 21 months): $335.79

    Total: $415.78

And actually that's probably a bit high since I buy monthly subs three months at a time.

Wow ... $1,300 seems high. I used my crowns from my sub to pay for the DLCs and I still have a lot of crowns left that I'm not spending.
