What type of Tank do you play the most

Dragonknight Magicka Tank

I don't really tank, but my favorite type of tank to run with is a Magic DK because CHAINS. It is much easier to explode things that are in a nice little group. I also am a big fan of running with templar tanks, but I think the learning curve is steeper. If they are good, they are really good, but the bad ones are really bad.

THis, they tear *** up.

Stam only needed for taunts and blocks, then you can heal and regen stam from magic forever. Plus all the added help from non-stop magicka spells....

@Jar_Ek , I think part of what explains the differences in tank choice is indeed the disparity in strength that you suggest. That being said, there is also a factor were players choose one thing over another based on a perception that they trust to be true.

For example, most players are choosing stamina DK and it has been very popular to use tons of stamina since at least patch 1.7 was introduced. In my opinion magic DK is much stronger and that is despite what seems to be the popular opinion among most players.

Sorcerer Magicka Tank

I played a Health DK Build For awhile, Also Tried a Magicka Templar Tank and a Stam Templar Tank, loved it but then I decided to try a Sorc because lets face it no one see's them that often.

My Sorc Tank, is Magic based and I am loving every minute of it. I wouldn't go back to a DK ever again.

There are no tanks in eso nor legitimate taking mechanics in ESO . It's DPS with a taunt and avoid red puddles.

To be fair... I'm not sure there is such a thing as a 'magicka' or 'stamina' tank.....

All tanks to some degree are going to have to use skills in their non primary resource.

Which means all tanks are hybrids.....

Any variation is relatively minor.

My opinion is that strongest is a DK with a magicka BIAS... but still at least 20k in Stam.

But mine personally has 20k stam, approx 30k magicka, 2.5k spell damage (buffed) and has an uber defensive main bar, and a half dps back bar. She can main tank literally anything at all in the game... but also add at least 10k+ dps to any fight in the non pressured situations (Such as most gold keys)... I LOVE aggressive tanking!

Swear I hate tanking. Only reason I have tank characters is because no one else will put up with the role and if I'm gonna be shoehorned into it I might as well have some fun.

I don't enjoy playing Templars or Sorcerers at all, much less tank with them.
Tried NB tanking, it got the job done well enough, even cleared vDSA back when there was some level of challenge to it at VR14 but I hated every second of it. I had no fun whatsoever when he was a tank. I tried every combination of skills I could think of to try and make it entertaining but nothing worked.
Then, I leveled my DK. It was night and day for me. I didn't feel like I was tanking because it all felt so natural. Drop a Cinderstorm, talons for a debuff/root and just watch everything around me start to drop one by one. If they ever strayed, a simple chain would keep them loyal to me. It is perfection.

OK, so all of a sudden this thread gets necroed from about a month ago with people saying bs like tanks aren't a thing. Please tell me how you do Veteran Maw of Lorkharj without a tank, see how it goes. Would love to hear it.

And what I meant by magicka or stamina tank is your main focus. Mine for example has 30k stam 30k hp and only 11k magicka. I use magicka abilities as well but far less than my stamina abilities.

Templar Stamina Tank

I am in LOVE with Stamplar tanking right now. There is no real downside other than "no chains." Not a dependable heal-tank like our Magicka cousins can be, but quite good at support DPS.
