first few days it was perfect, wasn't too hard.. with some careful planning it is totally doable.. now? it seem rather impossible. i went to deadhallow hall today..and every patrol have the "circle".. and they almost never leave the doorway.. there is just no way to do it in seven minute without been spotted!

can you imagine to have 6 "circle" in a same small room?? i hope am not the only one...

    how? the circle prevent both sneak and invisible.. there is another path but the patrol is the same. i tried the other path back and the i waste almost three minutes waiting for the patrol on the door way..

    p.s. do you by any chance suggesting to kill them all? everytime you are spotted the timer get decrease.. battle means no optional.. and no optional means wasting another 10 minute for mere 400 gold... must complete optional to get a random blue set item....

    I did Deadhollow Hall today and I am wondering the same thing. I sneak through the first room and onto the second hallways, the patrols there literally do not give you even a small chance to sneak past, the circle which stops sneak is always blocking you from getting past and entering the second room in stealth, I'm not sure what I'm missing either.

    i did deadhollow once before the patch and it was nothing like this... now it is just unbearable ....

    it was fun..until the last patch T_T used to be hard and challenging mission.. now they are just mission impossible with crappy reward and you can only do it once per day... lame

    Oh I do find them fun mostly, the first heist I did I made the timer and was successfully not detected, however this heist in particular seems to be giving people trouble, we are probably missing something. But they are quite fun.

    If i can do to it, you guys in medium armour should faceroll it.

    I never do timed content, ever. I am getting older and doing anything that makes me rush things is never going to work out for me. In this case being a thief, to me, is being willing and able to wait out those perfect moments when you strike. I love pick pocketing and lock boxes, for apparent reasons.

    Heists may be fun for many, but I would much rather pick 10000 pockets than run one timed event as I can take my sweet time on them.

    there is no difference in which armor you wear, the circle prevent you from sneak and invisible.. you might want to give deadhallow a shot.. maybe you could give us some insight once you done it?

    I am sure I will figure out the best path and way after time. That is part of the fun.

    However, what I don't like is all the spam messages about how slow I am going if I decide to engage mobs, or the 2 or 3 messages about how I failed the time challenge as the clock goes to 0. I purposely decided to not go for the time challenge the first time through and the constant nagging by the game was a real downer. Then, after all is said and done, the quest giver gets on your case about the time challenge, not once, but twice. Look dude, if your not happy with the way I did it, then do it your self. Let me just say he got an earful from me as I turned in that quest.

    I can't wait for the No Thank You addon to update to suppress these messages. Until then, I don't think I am going to do another Heist.

    Deadhollow Halls is bugged as hell, or poorly designed. I've posted about it before here:

    http://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/252036/heists-deadhollow-halls

    The patrol routes are such that sometimes it might take almost 1 minute to evade a guard, yet killing them isn't an option because you lose even more time.

    I've completed it twice with perfect runs since TG launched, but each time has to make multiple tries, as opposed to finishing most of the others on my first attempt. If you're struggling, keep dropping the quest until the treasure positions reset to more favourable locations.

    it has gone far worse now.. i did it few days ago it was hard.. but doable.. now the guard just block the entire path never give you a inch to sneak through...

    Yes, I've noticed some guards will get stuck on their routes. The one time I remember, though, he was inside one of the rooms and actually made it easier for me to go in the corridor. Bottom line is, I've been posting about it since PTS and the only thing they fixed was the hiding spots - they used to be invisible...

    I noticed this as well and sent a bug report in. It's good to know I'm not the only one with problem. I've done Deadhollow Halls before and there never used to be that many NPCs with circles around them. Hopefully it's only Deadhollow Halls that's bugged.

    ^this. For deadhollow Halls it's all about luck. The positions of chests, if you're lucky you can do it, otherwise don't bother since a couple of patrols there do not give you a choice and you will be detected.

    I'll continue to do the heist quests only because they give you exp in the thieves guild skill line. So far I'm tactics are go in kill npcs that are in my way, get the chests, leave and get reward. The loot I get from the guards I kill, seem to make up for the lowered rewards I get for not completing it in time.

    Several questions here :

    - Do you really "a way" or are you just bragging / pretending ? Until you actually explain, I'll assume you don't have "a way".

    - Is this "way" legit or usebug ?

    Just use spoiler tags and explain this "way", or just shut up, because it helps noone.

    no, not that. no guard are stuck.. but their circle is too big, and they never patrol outside the hall. which means the way is 100% block all the time.. this happens to both side now.it wasn't like this a few days ago..

    not any more.. the patrol in the hall leading to the entrance are blocked.. both side. 100% of the time.. so unless they spawn at entrance right under your feet, there is no chance from what am seeing

    Unlike other heists, this one does rely on certain terrain/objects to evade some of the guards. But those do not apply to all guards, sometimes you need to use the hiding spots, and in at least once case you need to step in the blue circle because the guard never goes past the hiding spot.

    In my experience, stepping into the blue circle doesn't matter and causes no penalty as long as you're at the back of the guard and noone sees you. You just leave the circle, go back to stealth and go on.

    The following is a spoiler for how to do some things, please be advised.
    You sometimes just need to run past a guard while its back is turned to you, even if that mob is a guard. I mean like full-on sprint past it, giving it as wide a berth as possible, and you also need to be sure you aren't running directly into anything else. Run right to a dark corner and re-stealth, you should be able to be "unnoticed" and not lose time. It's incredibly tricky, though. And you can do it this way as any class, no Dark Cloak required.

    That's what I do, but:
    - It seems if you take too long inside the circle the guard will detect you even with his back turned, and you don't have long until this happens so sometimes you're lucky, other times not so much;
    - It's bad design. There are useless hiding spots that don't allow you to evade guards because their path doesn't reach past them;
    - Guards are far too slow here, if you encounter them at the wrong place in their patrol you waste almost a full minute to evade them.

    I agree that too much relies on pure luck on these heists (the random design that is chosen at the start, and some NPC routine combinations make the run impossible to complete on time).
