Empower requires an attack within 5 seconds, all methods i tried was within those 5 seconds. Also tried empower when casting, but that doesn't work either.
when proxy det is within 4-5 seconds i use the ability Empowered chains(Activates Empower). I tried the same with the mages guild passive (might of the guild) which grands empower after activating a mages guild ability.(vulcanic rune in this case)
Yes, proxy counts as dot and therefore can't benefit from empower.leepalmer95 wrote: »Empower requires an attack within 5 seconds, all methods i tried was within those 5 seconds. Also tried empower when casting, but that doesn't work either.

Isn't proxy considered a dot?

How about Soul Tether?

Magicka Detonation and its morphs in general aren't affected by Empowered whatsoever. Both the base and its morphs are considered DoT abilities. The funny thing about Empower is that it can confuse you. You can cast an ability that grants Empower (Ambush, Mages Guild Might of the Guild, Empowering Chains, Solar Flare (and its morphs), and check tooltips for all your abilities where it be Single-Target/AoE, Channeled/Instant, or DoT or both, and it'll actually show you increased damage but it's just a UI glitch and it doesn't actually do increase damage if you actually cast the ability. Empower only gets consumed when you use an ability that is:Extra: Daedric Minefield and Fire Rune aren't affected by Empower.
- Single Target, Non-DoT
- AoE, Non-DoT
- Single Target Damage, but DoT afterwards. (This one's tricky. This category includes: Searing Strike, Eruption, Lotus Fan, Crippling Grasp, Blazing Spear, Sun Fire, Entropy, Cleave, Twin Slashes, Poison Arrow, Arrow Spray, Destructive Touch, Elemental Ring, Trap Beast, Entropy, Infectious Claws, Razor Caltrops, Meteor, Dawnbreaker, Storm Atronach, Radial Sweep)
In this category, only the INITIAL DAMAGE gets Empowered, the DoT afterwards isn't affected at all.

So the initial dmg of Soul Tether would benefit from Empowered? Its an instant AOE dmg skills so I would assume it falls under the second category you mentioned.
@Croaxor Yes, Thaumaturge increases (and Thick Skin mitigates) Proxy Det dmg.
I can't consider Magicka det as an DoT, did they do this on purpose or is this a bug aswell? So if Magicka det is a DoT, does Thaumaturge increase damage? Since it's'considered a "DoT".
