Nirnhoned is a fantastic trait and I'm sure many people would love this change. It diversifies the builds open to us as often we ignore using certain weapon/armour combinations purely because Nirnhoned weapons are only available for crafted sets.
Nirhoned for armour is useless.
There's plenty of it going for cheap on guild traders though.
Would it be possible to allow the Nirnhoned trait to drop on weapon and armour world drops? If there are worries about overflowing the system with Nirncruxes then simply nerf the chance to extract them from world drops on deconstruction.

Don't get me wrong by this, I totally would love to see well-sh*ted go out the door and replaced with a more relevant trait, but adding nirn drops does not add to diversity at all. It just means casters get another 4% spell pen and some extra magic resistance. How is that diversity? Also all of the current weapons that cannot come in Nirn have some other augmentation to them that puts them ahead of it anyways (Maelstrom staves , trial set 3/5 pc bonuses, etc)

Gilliam, you are often narrow-minded with 'diversity' if it's not benefiting stamina. I'm not here to argue stamina versus magicka. It WILL diversify magicka builds. For example, a magicka Templar uses DW swords mostly (I'm sure you're familiar with a guy named Nifty...) yet we refuse to use certain sets because we need CRAFTED swords. If Willpower, Vicious Death, or a number of other world drops came with Nirnhoned swords it would open up more options to us.
More options = diversity. So yes, it does add diversity. If you want more diversity to stamina builds go make a separate thread.

On PC that's expensive. Fortified Nirncrux is dirt cheap because they nerfed the trait into trash.
Potent Nirncrux is still bis and worth ~20k.

I am not arguing a stamina vs magicka benefit. You are misusing the term diversity. True diversity would mean you have more options that truly differ from one another and offer unique advantages and disadvantages. With this change you merely take a trait that already exists, strips a useless stat to you, and adds 4% more spell penetration and 18% resistance, meaning it REPLACES sharpened for you. If it was Diversity you would still have sharpened as a valid option. So quick to call me narrow-minded but you yourself show that you are just as much as I would be.
Now if this was done in tandem with allowing more sets to drop in extra pieces such as Bahraha's or Syvara's where it can literally come in any trait, any armor/weapon, then yes it would open diversity up. As I stated before, those sets that come in sharpened already have augments to them that have added gains that alleviate the loss of penetration from sharpened to nirn, which again, what real diversity is. Perhaps you need to take a look at some of the new sets and realize that there's a few new options to run that deal with non crafted, sharpened swords. That's all I'll say, since I'm so narrow-minded.
Why not have master weapons or any other weapon that drops have a chance to drop with nirnhoned? I mean why the F would you sharpen your staff? I thought this game was about my immersion. A sharp staff breaks my immersion ZoS. Please drop items in Nirnhoned trait.
I think they want us to interact with each other, trading our nirnhoned reward from craglorn with others until we get the trait on all the items we want. I've sold some via the guild traders, and bought some pieces too. The main problem is the lack of nirncruxes.
