I never thought I'd say this: I would prefer them to skip a DLC and just fix the game and get a good balance to it...

I don't care about the size of the dlcs as long as they don't have major bugs. What's the point of an awesome trial if the boss mechanics are invisable for half of the players.

    No, do quarter DLC
I'm saying no because the model as is...is widely accepted and it fits the current market as many other games utilize a DLC approach vs expansions. I'd rather not deal with a Destiny situation or even WoW situation where large portions of the community are annexed off unless the upgrade.

Just look at what is happening on the DirectX11 update and imagine that multiplied. (Many already have DirectX11 machines)

I would rather ZOS put a lot of effort into taking a complete quarter off of DLC @ZOS_GinaBruno and devoting that period of time to releasing updates, fixes and bug removal. Could you imagine playing a game where 95% or more of what exists, all works as intended. This should be done 1 quarter every year or on a 3:1 ratio for DLC roll-outs.

    No, do quarter DLC
    I prefer this system.

Firstly because it means we get more regular updates, even if each one is smaller it makes for a more regular supply of content overall. I can't say it would be exactly the same but GW2 switched from regular small DLC type updates to an expansion and it meant putting the smaller updates on hold for almost a year, now they're trying to do both and at the moment it seems like the end result is a bit of a mess of different types of releases and long breaks which means no one's really getting what they want.

But it also means you can either subscribe and get everything included or buy only the DLC you're interested in. For example I'm not interested in PvP so I won't bother with IC, but I love PvE questing so I'll get Orsinium and probably Thieves Guild. If ZOS made an expansion it'd have to include a variety of content and we'd all have to buy all of it even if we don't intend to ever play some of it.

And subscribers would probably have to buy it separately too, like the do for WoW instead of getting it as part of their subscription package.

Finally it means they can pick maps to suit the content or content to suit the maps and if it ends up with bits and pieces added all over the place (like IC, Wrothgar and a bit of Hammerfell) it doesn't matter because it's all stand-alone DLCs. If they released an expansion it'd have to be one cohesive area and all the content would have to fit into that (see above regarding releasing a mix of content), whether it makes sense or not.

    Yes, large expansions
Yes this is the best way to expand you game, and more features and land masses, story, then you can fill in the blanks with dlc's between the expansions, I think just using dlc's is kind of lame and the content they bring is only short term fun maybe a week if your lucky. But I will take any new content something is better than nothing.

I like having something new to do each quarter. It keeps the game fresh and I have something to look forward to. With WoW, I always felt like there were great droughts between fresh stuff to do.

I would honestly go as far as saying if they could they should STOP Dark Brotherhood alltogether...

Redo it from scratch.., and make it a massive expansion.

WoW goes through 1 year and a half content droughts before every expansion.

TESO needs a wardrobe system badly. Something similar to WoW's tmog system would make this game one of the best mmorpg out there!

The current dlc releases are fine. They really need to get a handle on their version control, but other than that, the game is in a good place. There's a lot of content, far more than reading the forums would lead a newcomer to believe!

I don't want to wait for a year or so for one giant expansion, I like the smaller growth. The huge yearly xpacs are pretty risky, a lot of time and money devoted up front without anything new on the horizon in case on a flop. The growth rate of content is steady now, steady is good.

Since every DLC that we receive gives more bugs that it fixes, @ZOS should cut down to 3 DLC's per year and get the fixes/bugs correct for them. Either that or take 1 entire DLC to concentrate JUST on fixing bugs/exploits.

If there wasnt DLCs coming then people would whine why there isnt content coming "We give all this MONEY for nothing??" for example, I personally think from my 15+ year of experience that players can handle bugs way better than lack of content, shortly said, lack of content is the end of the world, bugs are just small plague.

So you'd suggest that is better to have something new to do...even if most of it is either bugged, not working as intended and the old stuff is also broken and not working as intended....

    instead of

fixing and stopping the problems from continuing?
Serious question because we all don't think alike.

    Yes, large expansions
For those of you who are voting against WoW type expansions, I wonder if you have ever played WoW. I am sure some of you have, and I understand you may not like it. For those that haven't, I will explain a little bit about how it works in that game.

When WoW launches an expansion, it contains new areas (MUCH larger areas than DLC in this game) and several new dungeons, which have 3 difficulty modes. That content can take a good while to get through. After a couple months (and before most people have finished the original content of the expansion), they introduce their first raid for that expansion. Their raids are MUCH bigger than the Trials in this game, and they come in 4 difficulty modes. Most of their raids have 10-12 bosses, and it can take weeks of running it to finally get a kill on the last boss - and that's just on Normal mode. After that, you have Heroic and Mythic, and those can take months to finish. As you progress through the content, you begin to get better gear, allowing you to beat the harder modes. After a few months of the 1st raid being out, they introduce the second raid, and that goes on for a couple more months. After that is a 3rd raid, and so on. (number of raids varies by expansion, but I think there is usually at least 3). With this system, there is always a goal to work towards, so you always have something to do to progress your character. No need for convoluted CP type systems. As a side note, they have something for everyone in EACH expansion (PVP, PVE, solo content, RP). In ESO, you get a PVP DLC, then non PVPers have to wait another few months for more stuff to do. Then you get a solo PVE DLC, and group PVEers and PVP people have to wait, etc.

The expansions they make, and the way they release bits of it over time gives you something to do for more than a year. *From one expansion.* There does tend to be a bit of a content drought after the last raid is released, but there is so much to do in that game that isn't tied to end game, that many people find something to do to fill the time. Mount farming, pet battles, archaeology, achievements, etc, so it works for them.

In my opinion, the way WoW releases content is pretty darn good, and to me at least, is superior to the tiny DLCs we get here. I understand that some people won't agree, but this is just my opinion.
