Should ESO do large WOW like expansions

Should ESO start doing large WOW like expansions, or quarterly DLC. To me it makes sense to do quarterly releases for a year or two. It makes ESO plus more worth it and gives room for various needed upgrades. It is a good system. But I think people want to feel emersion, like the first time playing ESO. A huge expansion to give hundreds of hours to players and really liven up the game, what do you think? Maybe both?

Only reason WoW can push out a giant new expansion every year is due to unlimited funding. I'd rather have quarterly DLC's that are smaller than expansions but have more detail and story put in it. Orsinium was a masterpiece imo. Thats the kind of DLC's I want.

Wouldn't mind it for big content like continuing the main story.

I like the DLC but I wish they had more meat to them.

With all the empty parts of the map, quarterly DLC will be a lot of fun. I'm fine with continuing as is.

How much would the large DLC cost? Orsinium was already $30. AAA titles release for $60. They could charge $60 for double or triple Orsinium, but much large that that would be a questionable financial move.

Other = both. I love frequent DLCs but every couple of years or so, it'd be nice to have something dramatically big to sink our teeth into, something with many zones instead of one. WoW's expansions take awhile to come out so I don't mind it taking ESO a fair amount of time to do, but I'd be a little forlorn to think there will be no larger-than-DLC additions forthcoming to the game.

Something like housing with our own generous parcel of land as is so well done in Rift and EQ2 could be an expansion of that nature. Lots of land to explore and some to make our homes on (or instanced off for server performance) would make me happy.

Increasing ways of traveling with personal boats, airships, with lands to sail over and oceans replete with island chains to discover--that's expansion worthy to me.

Not all who wander are lost. I love to roam for the scenery, the locked chest tucked behind a tree, the harvesting along the way. Land and loot. I always want more. So I'd vote both DLC and something occasionally vaster in scope if it's at all possible.

Leave the DLC, just some staples will be nice - barber, duelling, small scale pvp matches. I am personally not interested in the DLC's AT ALL.

I mean, hell, you don't fit a turbo to a car that has only three working wheels? (according to ZoS you do)

WOW PVE content is mind numbingly boring:

    Go kill 5 things
    Go gather 7 things
    Run pointless errand

    Go kill 8 things
    Go gather 4 things
Return pointless errand back to sender

    Rinse

    Repeat

So far I am enjoying ESO content. I estimate that if I spend 10 hours a week playing I have enough content for a year or two.

When I get bored with the content, another game will come out and I'll play that. It might be an Elder Scrolls world, or it might be something else, but if I'm bored with Elder Scrolls and want to move to a different company's product, I wouldn't want them to re-do the same thing I got tired of and left. I would want something different.

So no WOW - like content.
    Please

I think its coming first Zen have followed the genre standards like pets, mount-shop, real-life holidays so why dont they do Expansions too. Not to mention we havent gotten any new skills either, is this going to be it really? So that said, there must be another team we dont know yet. Theres Brians team, PVE team maybe Lambert and then Expansion team, maybe Matt, thats my guess.

House sounds like a feature that they will just roll into a patch, not a major expansion type item.

Oh and wait! Things like toppling charge are working outside of Cyrodiil? Didn't know that :o

Lucky, we get no crashes/disconnects outside of Cyrodiil.

Toppling charge is a mess. Don't need it though. Nowhere near significant enough to delay DB.

Similarly, I gave up on Dragon Leap at launch since 15% of the time I would get stuck in a crouch with wings out, unable to continue combat. Plenty of other skills to turn to.

ESO would need one huge expansion pack from time to time in parallel with the DLC system. So once 3-4 years... instead of 2 DLCs we get one HUGE expansion pack instead consisting in way more zones and new content.

I like it to look forward to new content and stuff every couple of months.

No harm done when expansion packs are bigger and deliver more playing hours. The Creative department does a wonderfull job.
But I am happy enough with the size of the current DLC's as it is for the coming year.
Gives some room to get some nasty bugs removed, continue the anti-lag program, do root balancing, class balancing, root features (like difficulty scaling), and so on....
Will take a while before this game gets mature. Still lots to do.

And I guess as well that, in terms of business continuity and risk management, quarterly DLC's are a no-brainer.

We should have fought for our village and not have backed down, with our tail between our legs. I put yes... But now I'm not so sure.

On the one hand clockwork city deserves to be an expansion. (No spoilers, figure out why for yourself).
On the other hand a content drought would be terrible for the game and I'm enjoying the DLC every quarter rather than WoW's model of an expansion every two years.

We had a drought of new content between upper Craglorn and Imperial City being released. (That was September 2014 - July 2015) barring the Justice System. Those were dark days indeed.
