ultimate noob question

Hello,

There is a litlle thing I cant find an answer to.
What is the difference between your ultimate on 500% or on 200 % if you use it.
It doesnt do more dmg does it?
Is there a site somewhere where I can find out about intricacies like this?

Nothing at all no bonus what so ever. The Sorceror ultimate ability overload has a mechanic that uses stored up ultimate, but that is a whole other question.

Like nodulo said, if you're using Overload, it simply means you can use it for longer. For every other ultimate in the game, having anything more than 100% of the ultimate cost is "wasted." So if you have 200% ultimate, and cast your ult, it goes to zero. You don't suddenly have another 100% of your ultimate cost waiting to be used.

Back in the before-time, NBs' Soul Harvest ability increased in damage when the ult was overcharged like this, but they got rid of it because it was too powerful.

Now, it's basically use it, or lose it. Unless you're a sorc.

Normal ultimates need a minimum of 100 to 300 to work for example.
If you store more than the required amount its wasted upon use.

Overload works differently, it takes 64 ultimate to active it and it consumes 22 ultimate per attack.
You can store up to 1000 ultimate which allows a sorc to do 1000/22=45 overload light attacks.

Thx all for the explanation. I might go back to overload then. Now I use mainly the greater storm atronach.
