How to enable 64 bit?

I was told it isn't automatically enabled and that there isn't an in-game way to do this yet. How do you enable the 64 bit client on Mac?

(21.5-inch, Mid 2011)
2.5 GHz Intel Core i5
8 GB 1333 MHz DDR3
AMD Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB

Only the 64bit client is now available for Mac, so simply run the updater/launcher and you have it.

The option of 32/64 only exists for the Windows client.

Thanks, I had no idea. That means the crashes aren't related to -not- running that client.

@SlayerSyrena, please have a look at section 4 of my FAQ here, I've listed some workarounds to the most likely causes of client crashes. The last one has high chances of being fixed with an upcoming patch early next week.

Correct, Despite initially crashing every 4-10 minutes, there has been a couple of hot fixes, but more importantly for me KhajitFurtrader has posted a great troubleshooting thread in this forum (Mac Tech Support); option 4, bullet 4 suggested by the ESO Mac Dev has given me a completely crash free experience which is so much better than the 32bit client was giving me.

Thanks, @KhajitFurTrader I turned off all my addons, turned off Shadows and Auto Loot. I was able to play a little longer then, inevitably, crashed again (and the game freezes so badly when it crashes I can't even use my mouse and I have to do a manual shutdown of my Mac).

@LaucianNailor That looks very technical (I'm more familiar working with a PC than a Mac) but I'll give it a try if I can figure it out ...

May I then suggest you use @smacx250's elegant solution that he posted in the same thread? It's a one-liner, and you can continue using the Launcher to start the game. You just have to redo the fix after every system boot. His excellent explanation about the issue that's causing the crashes and how the workaround fixes it can be found here.

NB: this issue will very likely be fixed with a patch early next week, so both given workarounds should become obsolete after the patch hits live.
