It seems to me the people who often say the game is too easy or boring are the same one's who grind to max CP and and run trial after trial to get that end level gear.
If you want a difficulty slider, there it is. Go back to using low level weapons and armor.
Or, check out dome different MMOs. There are a few out there, where you will be griefer bait for the first, oh, two or three years until you can build up your own "skills" ... I mean stats.
Yet the OP said he's running a lvl 6 green bow and no armor except for the starter pants, no set items. He can't really do it less than that, yet still kills everything super fast.
I was actually replying to a different post than the OP, I should have quoted it. If someone has a low level char like that and are one-shotting things, then they probably have a ton of CP.
Again, it's normally the folks who grind out max CP who come back and complain the game is too easy.
There's a free market, and it's full of MMO's where you can be griefed constantly by higher stat players, if you find that sort of thing "challenging". None have the player base of quality of content that ESO has, granted.
Going back to the OP, remove your CP, then tell us you can one shot anything with your bow.
I'm pretty sure he stated he has no cp.
Nothing in the OP says anything about champion points. If he's one shotting with a lvl 7 toon, he's using CP to do it. Period.

Who on earth would be doing 1k DPS at V16?? Is that a thing?

So I guess he's just that good then. I'm sorry, I don't buy it. The game is not exceptionally difficult, I grant you that: it's not intended to be; it's a game designed for mass appeal. However, when someone comes on and makes these kinds of claims, seriously, it's trolling. No more, no less. The game is what it is. Accept it for that. If you're looking for the ultimate challenge as a hard-core gamer, then this game probably isn't going to satisfy that. But I find it highly suspect that someone is one - shotting enemies at lvl 7 with no CP. Everyone else should too, because we play the game and we know how things work. Moreoever, the OP has 3 stars and has been posting on the forum for a year and a half. If that player only has a max 40 char, and has no CP (meaning they didn't delete their vet toons), do you really think he would be one - shotting enemies with a lvl 7? Really?

I was one shotting at lvl 7 when the game launched on pc. I can totally believe it.
This was back when things were more challenging. Back when there was no cp. Back when I had no gear. Back before people qq'd and got everything nerffed. If they couldn't settle for the game being how it is, why should I?
And tenure on the forum means little. I know a few people from launch who haven't broke into vet yet. I'll admit I haven't read through his post history to see any comments about vet or not, but simply having been here means little. Especially if he just came back from hiatus.

I guess there are those among us who just posses extraordinary gaming skill. I've leveled up new toons and have not been able to one shot anything, especially at such a low level so, maybe I just suck, who knows?
I think the goal of this game is to have a broad appeal so that all kinds of players can enjoy it. Maybe you would be happier playing a more hard-core game then? There are plenty out there. I would give you names, but I'm not sure it's really appropriate on a Bethesda forum.
I find the game to be challenging enough to be entertaining while not being so difficult as to be frustrating. I play for entertainment.
I'm not opposed to the idea of a difficulty slider in PvE, but not at the expense of a whole lot of other things I would want for the game first.

Have you tried stealth attacking? I really don't know how much skill it takes to stand behind a guy and charge a heavy attack, but I wouldn't think it's all that much. I guess positioning is just such an 'elite' concept that it can't be used by anyone under vet level? I mean, seriously, it's not that hard to move around behind a guy and hold down a mouse button. I'm happy playing this game thank you very much. I'm not going to go over to eve or the secret world, or go solo in the souls franchise simply because I don't like where the devs nerfed things to.
I also play for pure entertainment and fun. Mowing things down is neither. (I compare it to walking down a bowling alley and kicking the pins down and calling it a strike.)
Now, we both have our selfish desires for the game, you want other things before something like this, and we want this before other things. And that's why we are discussing
I know many, Zenimax included, like to point to trials or PvP as a source of challenging content for those who desire it. However, some players don't PvP at all and those who do both, don't always feel like PvPing every given moment of the week. For those who exclusively PvE, trials are out of the question as many cannot find 11 other willing players to experience it with them.

Solution: use the group finder tool and do dungeons. It's the middle ground between the easy solo content and the hard trials.

I have a VR16 DK that I use Camo Hunter, Combined with Rally and attack with Critical Rush from stealth. I have never once been able to one shot kill anything with this attack method. I have all purple VR15 armor, 5 Hunding's Rage, 4 Night Mother's Gaze, all purple stamina enchantments, chest and head are heavy, the remainder medium, mix of Divines and Infused traits, Theif's stone. 2 handed skill line is at 50 and Critical Rush is maxxed.
Please tell me what I'm doing wrong then?

This isn't a solution, but thanks for the dismissive answer.
There are few 4-man dungeons in the game, while there are many many hours of quests and large solo PvE zones. Some of us do actually enjoy experiencing the story and the questing areas (at least visually), but the gameplay gets very stale, since you can pretty much solo things with only 1 active ability. ESO combat at its best is very dynamic. Why can't this be true everywhere for those who want it?

Now, we both have our selfish desires for the game, you want other things before something like this, and we want this before other things. And that's why we are discussing
Not heavy attacking from stealth?
You arent lvl 7 in a lvl 7 area?
Heck, a wrecking blow from stealth should be hitting for arround 40k.
Are you talking pvp here?
Doesnt crit rush take you out of stealth?
I never had substantial gear all the way through to vet10 back then. I think the only one i ever used till then was the one that steals hp if your hp gets to low. And that was only because it went with my lifestealy casualish RP for my class. Did you know the forceful passive actually hit harder out of stealth than a heavy? I could oneshot a guy and his friend standing next to him with a 2hander. Everything except bosses.

Period.
@jkemmery If you read through the thread, he says his main (his max lvl) is lvl 40 something. I take that as a statement of no cp. Indirect, yes.
@Shunravi
Really?
Sorry, I don't buy it. This is a troll thread, as far as I'm concerned.
[If you like the game as it is, then why are you spending time on here instead of actually playing it, instead of annoying players who discuss how to improve it?

Why are you such a troll? If you are over-leveled (7) in the tutorial zones, you'll one shot most lvl 4 mobs. It's easy to be over-leveled there if you explore everything and do all quests.
Now, I don't see "accepting the game as it is" as the purpose of this forum. We're here to give praise, point out problems and discuss ideas on how to improve the game. What I find annoying is people like you, who disrupt the process of discussing new ideas by making idiotic suggestions and challenging obvious facts. If you really want to help the intellectual process, I suggest you look up my comment from above where I make a concrete and workable suggestion on how to implement a difficulty slider in this game by leveraging existing technology (DLC zone/player scaling).

I was one shotting at lvl 7 when the game launched on pc. I can totally believe it.

@Shunravi
That is a solution, and you're welcome for the informative answer.
It is most certainly not a solution again. I'm glad you enjoy the game as is, but the suggestion put forth by the OP would not change the game for you. I see no reason for you to come in here and tell others how they have to play the game.

@Shunravi
What class are you?
Same as the op. <-(very relavent no?)
And blah blah nb op and all that. Im talking back in the day when both nb and 2h were considered the most underpowered things in the game.
I've never been able to one shot anything with any attack, ever. Maybe it just sucks to play a Nord DK? I don't know. Maybe my fat, 48 year old fingers don't press the buttons with the agility necessary to make those kinds of things happen? Who knows. I think of all of the things this game might need the devs to spend time on, adding a difficulty slider is pretty low, considering you can easily nerf yourself by using low level gear. Or maybe your NB toons really are THAT OP. I know it sucks to think about it, but I have been playing this DK since almost launch. Never once have I one shot killed anything ... so what does that tell you?
