Abah's Landing Design Praise

I know people are super frustrated with bugs right now and have every right to be, but I'd like to take some time to talk about how absolutely amazing the design for Abah's Landing is. It's like a giant game of "Am I allowed to jump on that? I AM!!" One of my friends started calling it Assassin's Creed: Tamriel Edition. Probably minus the conveniently-placed haybales, though. Either way, it's a total blast running around the rooftops and jumping places no Khajiit was meant to go, but which no Khajiit has any right to resist trying to get to.

It's also just a GORGEOUS zone. I've barely begun questing 'cause I'm too busy playing tourist and gawking at everything! LOL

Just saw the trailer on the Bethesda youtube, it piqued my curiosity.

The scene where they showed climbing a pillar though -- is that a "cutscene" for show, or has climbing vertical surfaces actually made a return?

I also love how you are sneaking from one rooftop to the other on this skinny little plank. It really changes things up and it's so cool looking down on the town to see people there and you're like "aha! But they don't notice me!"

Just a cutscene, unfortunately, and not one that your character can do, as far as I'm aware.

That is unfortunate to read, but appreciate the clarification. :)

May pop back on and check it out anyway.

Abah's Landing is indeed a very nice city. The main Thieves Guild questline is also very good single player content. It feels straight out of Skyrim.

The characters are great too. Walks-Softly and Quen are absolutely lovely.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

ZOS has great content design, art, sound teams but programming and combat design are just pathetic.

I am enjoying it as well, and actually wish they could work in more game mechanics like Assassin's Creed. Assassin's Creed has to be one of the best game series of all time along with Elderscrolls.

How is it that ESO has one of the worst jump mechanics I have seen in any video game, ever? Why is it so terrible?

I think their coders and engineers are probably also very good. ESO's technical issues are probably the result of very bad upper management. Those are the guys who make the decision to launch unfinished products and waste, collectively, thousands of hours of our time.

ZOS, and perhaps Zenimax as a whole, needs a management shake-up.

I have been playing the game fine in TG and Orsinium was pretty smooth. I think they need to get better at minimizing bugs but it hasn't been terrible.

I agree with @b92303008rwb17_ESO on the combat design though. Combat design has potential and could be so much better, just not sure the mentality of the Designers are going to make it more exciting though. MY HOUSE !! GET OUTTA MY HOUSE !!!!

The new zone is gorgeous and Abah's Landing also made me think of Assassin's Creed with all the ramps, alley-ways, and rooftops to e-parkour about on. The delves are also stunning, cool art and I like some of the other touches; it took me like 30 minutes to figure out how to get to a skyshard in one last night (I actually enjoyed figuring it out, less straight-forward and theme-park feeling than some of the previous content). Good job on the content Zos! I look forward to exploring the rest of it.

What's interesting is that if you check the employee reviews from websites like Glassdoor, pretty much all blames go to the management. I can't tell if it's the truth or they are just making excuses. LOL.
