For anyone wondering why their FPS is bad in the new patch:

Definitely an FPS loss for me. FPS falling below 30 on a 980ti?? GTFO ZOS. Its like the more I upgrade the worse ESO runs.

32 bit client has unbearable fps, used to be 40-50, now 20-30. Using 64 bit now, 30-40 fps, still not good enough.

hurry up and fix it already!

It's hard to surprise Templar main's with anything.

Since they buffed RD (aka fixed it, but lets call it a buff), they feel it is a little too strong and are going to add in a 10% chance to crash a client on cast.

Yes, but that isn't a specific criticism of this DLC now is it?
Semantics. Base game patch == DLC == Broken.

You know who's fault this is? The people who support this game by throwing money at the (too expensive) crownstore crap. Zos can afford to make crappy DLC because people will buy it nonetheless, and if not they just make a neat new tigerskin and sell it for 4000 crowns AND HURRY BECAUSE IT'S GONE IN 3 DAYS sales which people then buy.

The more I think of it, the less mood I get to try to install the patch because I can't even get past that (yesterday at least). And I won't spend crowns at the DLC. If I get past the patching I only go to cyrodill as a free to play player. If lag and fps is bad I log out and go do other things.
"but ZOS needs money to make neat DLC, if everybody stops paying they can't do anything".

I payed sub from start until end last year. I payed my due and hardly got anything in return. Never a purple motif / recipe, never a monsterhelm due to bad RNG. Only lag and crashes and loading screens. And I don't pay for a faulty product.

All I want them is to fix PvP lag, that's all I'm asking. If fixed=me subbing because I will then support the good work. I now treat this game as a bad alpha f2p game. You log in once in a while to see if it's better then last week. If not do something else.

Blending the disciplines of the stealthy agent and subtle wizard, I move unseen and undetected, foil locks and traps, and teleport to safety when threatened, or strike like a viper from ambush. The College of Illusion hides me and fuddles or pacifies my opponents. The College of Mysticism detects my object, reflects and dispels enemy spells, and makes good my escape. The key to a nightblade's success is avoidance, by spell or by stealth; with these skills, all things are possible."

Guess I'll leave my complaint here. First, my specs for context: Core i7 970 (6-core, 12 thread) @ 4GHz, 12GB RAM, GTX 980 SuperClocked, Windows 10 Pro 64bit, SoundBlaster Z with 5.1 speakers, and started out on a 24" 60hz 1080p screen then moved to a 27" 144hz 1440p G-Sync screen about a week ago. Suffice it to say that there should be no performance issues. Switching from 32bit to 64bit client didn't necessarily hurt performance, but there was virtually no improvement either.

In a generally unpopulated area or dungeon, even in Cyrodil, I can usually get between 60 and 80fps on both the 32 and 64bit client. Moving to a heavily populated zone such as a city, FPS drops to around 25fps. In heavy keep battles, I'm getting as low as 12fps. The same is true on both clients. My audio cut out once but I never experienced the static that others are hearing.

I've been doing some performance monitoring for several months and noticed that when FPS are good, the GPU utilization is very good. Moving to the 1440p screen has bumped utilization as high as 90% on the 980 when framerates are in the 70 or 80s. In heavy zones where framereates are lower, GPU utilization is much lower - around 50%. The interesting thing is that CPU utilization is overall low - around 15%. If I alt-tab out of the game, the utilization goes from using multiple cores a little to one core a lot, but overall utilization remains the same.

To me it seems to be an issue with thread prioritization or a inability to use more than one or two cores at once. I was really hoping that the 64-bit client would fix those issues, but I'm sure ZOS knows what the root-cause is and is working very hard to remedy the situation.

It's ridiculous how unfinished content is being forced out like this.

The content is finished. This is an optimization issue.

How can content be classed as finished if it's not optimized?
@Molec, "finished" meaning they're done screwing with it. It does not mean complete nor optimized, unfortunately.

I thought it's common sense that the PC version before console release is the real PTS and you wait a few weeks for ZOS to slowly sort their mess up.

They´ve been told about this. 40% performance loss on 32bit client and 20% performance loss on 64bit client compared to latest orsinium live patch 2.2.11 was not important enough to fix before bringing it live.

    This is completely unacceptable.

I now see ZOS with the same kind of disdain I felt for SOE. Whomever is making the decision to ignore technical issues @ ZOS needs to go.

ZOS is known or infamous for their weakness on the technical issues. It has been the case since launch.

Yet it's fairly common in the industry to release patches with bugs. The larger the update the more bugs added to the game.

    Again, virtually industry standard.

With that, game runs smooth for me using both clients though I see hot pink creatures on the 64 bit client. Think it's hilarious.

I just ran around for an hour in cyrodil on a 64bit client and had 0 issues, compared to nearly instant crashes yesterday. Hopefully that was not because Cyro was basically empty.

The game seems to run the same for me on 32 bit client. 64 bit seemed a bit more smooth but didn't do any official tests besides watching the in game fps counter.

I sure hope the patch fixes the root-cause of the framerate issues that have plagued heavily populated zones since day-1, and not just something that was introduced in the last patch. I haven't seen any change in performance between 32 and 64bit in larger PvP battles and I was really expecting to considering the memory optimization and effect prioritization changes. I was surprised to see that the game uses either one CPU thread at 100%, or spreads that across several threads, but never using more than ~13-15% CPU (for a 12-thread CPU) at any given time.
