It's just sad that they lack the interest in PvP the thing most people bought the game for I honestly a bit concerned about the way ZOS is handling things

Spies are apart of war which is what youre fighting.

Also I know people QQ alot about chains glitching and getting into keeps and *** and I laugh because... like if we are mages and badass nightblades and *** why wouldnt we be able to get over a wall thats not very big with something like a grappling hook. The rules for keep defense/offense are stale good to have a break from that.

Nobody crying on here and yes spies are apart of war but when a spy cover is blown they usually are killed we can't kill spies on this game so basically it like having god mode on

Spies are necessary, soldiers are necessary.

I wish there were a way to tell if a guy is spying and then his own faction could pvp kill him too

Kind of like the justice bounty system they wanted to implement...

A random "30DC inc to Bleaks from Ales" usually makes my chat window blue. There have been times when I randomly guessed some 30-stealthed-man group's movements and assumingly got reported by all of them.

DC is the best, I like people who have no sense of humor so I can have fun on my own.

Yes spying happens in real life fair enough, but they also get to kill them ;) can we not make some sort of middle ground of if a 24 man group decides you are a spy they can gank you. I mean what if it had a cool down period. I don't know what but there should be something.

The last thing I bought eso for was the PVP...but I do PVP and I get it. and often kill someone in one faction and see them a day later following our group on Their alt. Then low and behold their coloured faction they were from the day before, knows where we are whenever they are around.
You don't have to be a genius to figure it out. And yes it happens in "war". And they get dealt with IYKWIM.

I don't think a popularity contest should decide which ally is or is not worth killing. Besides all these solutions to kill spies is rather useless. Spies cannot do anything except relay information and you killing them has zero impact on their capability to do that.

    Troll....?

You are exactly right, if we are mages and badass nightblades, why wouldn't we be able to get over walls? Why only Dragonknights? Why can't mages teleport through walls? Nightblades phase through walls? Templars... be lifted by the light and levitate over walls? Nah, just because the exploitation of chains is abused by some, let's make up so wild excuse that is convenient for them.

It is fair imo because it is not like only EP can spy and DC and AD are out of luck. All factions can spy which makes for a better and more realistis alliance war.

True but it is a shame that there is no way to *deal* with spies and traitors - some mechanic where you could leave their heads on pikes or on your castle walls or fire them over into their factions forts in some sort of catapult perhaps? The old traditions should be kept...

Actually the one thing that genuinely annoys is when a 'spy' will simply take a captured scroll all the way to the enemy - there is no way to stop this and no way to prevent known cheats doing it as often as they want since reporting it doesn't seem to prompt any reaction from ZOS.

True...if spying was all that alts were used for.

Spying, although cheap and unsportsmanlike, is a small issue. Of greater concern...
    * Using alts to steal and run scrolls to apposing factions
    * Marking/exposing friendlies in stealth so that enemies can kill them
    * Providing a tgt for enemy nightblades and DKs to wall leap (past defenses)
    * Blatantly dropping siege in specific location to ensure others cannot place siege there and thus limit defense options (and then troll the defending alliance in area chat laughing about it and talking sh.....)
    * Using alts to quickly flip campaigns for Emperor swapping
    * Using alts to gank in the sewers (i.e. I am grinding an EP toon, but if I see other EPs in my loop, I switch to my DC toon, that I logged off in that loop, and gank them. Or just reporting farmers to enemy factions to help them gank

These are all problems that greatly diminish both the fun and competition of PvP.

And, as many others have said, in REAL LIFE being a Spy or Double Agent carries some extreme risk, and getting caught often results in torture and/or death. There is no risk for doing so in this game, thus there is no reason to do so unless you need to cheat to win or you lack moral fortitude and need to troll and resort to doing such things to in some way inflate your own sense of fun or achievement.

You are correct that there is cheating still happening and this is of greater concern. I cannot dispute that because cheating is hated by all despite who benefits.

i.e. A certain player on my campaign and faction has been stealing scrolls back for us during low population hours. Once when we had a few online and were making headway in the campaign, once this player stole the scroll the zone chat lit up with angry rants because we all felt it diminished all of our accomplishments and fun.

This player had used the Dragonknight ability "Fiery Grip" to steal the scroll from enemy keeps. I have seen enemy players use this tactic as well. This is an exploit and cheat, and should be addressed as such. Zenimax tried and horribly failed at addressing the issue before when they nerfed the ability.

I do not agree that people are intentionally and willfully allowing people to Dragonleap on them or setting up siege to block other siege. The primary reason is a lot of players are new and don't understand the mechanics of abilities and siege equipment in PVP. In addition the siege glitch was a huge problem, and even though it has lessened severely it is still an occasional problem. It was similar with Forward Camps; people claimed cheaters and spies because they didn't like the placement of it or it glitched and was unusable.

Spying and cheating really do diminish the fun of playing the game and really should be addressed appropriate both on a individual level and to remove exploitation from the game. However sometimes it is a player not understanding the mechanics and needs help on how to optimize playing the game without causing obstacles for their allies.

Players absolutely do it, and do so on purpose. It is obvious it is purposeful because often when they do it they will jump in area chat (console, so we don't have zone text but rather voice area chat) to talk sh.. and troll the alliance whom they are trying to screw over. Funniest part is, you will always hear players say they will report the person, and many do, often even with video evidence, yet you see the same people doing this stuff repeatedly. ZOS does nothing to curb such nefarious and unsportsmanlike actions.

Unfortunately, everything I listed happens much more often than it should.

Had a guy on had tonight jump on people's siege when they got off while it reloaded and would turn them completely around afire them. Would just move onto the next one and do it again.

So 6es they do have a negative impact outside of calling out your location. Which is a strategy buster in itself.

Ya spies are a part of war. Killing spies is also a part of war. Interrogating thwm for information is also a part of war. Being that these are not part of the game nor should spieing. Although it is very hard to regulate this, it is not hard to regulate someone who pulled a stunt like a described above. These players should be dealt with. Start with a 24 hour ban and increase it from rhere. 3 days. 1 week. 2 weeks. 1 month. 6 months. 1 year etc.

Last, there was a comment about not being able to place more than one to on on opposite faction on same campaign. This is no longer true.

They are missing a good opportunity here to add an element of fun like being a spy hunter with bounty missions. If you get reported or suspected of being a spy, with something like a "vote spy" ability, you could run and be hunted by your own faction for a time, or you could be captured and interrogated, or summoned to appear before the emperor or next in line who could pardon you or execute you as seen fit. The execution could have a really cool death animation involving lots of blood and a guillotine. People could show up and spectate. It wouldn't have to be too complicated.
