Why would we need this again?
[@SomeGuy]: Hey wayfarerx what sets are you using?

Regardless of what people say, both sides will be unhappy.

Elites will be upset if you don't conform to the meta, and the "average Joe" could care less... until they get kicked from the group for an unknown reason.

Same with every other thread: grow a pair and ask, can't do that then you don't deserve to know someone elses gear.

At this point, do we need to even ask what the setup is? Isn't this the setup 90% of the time anyways?

Asking someone isn't the point of gear examine.

It's the visual experience. The visual guide.

I used this tool in WoW (example, calm down) and loved it. I was a pretty darn good prot paladin and my friends and guildies would ask me questions from time to time when they rolled their alts. I could pull up their sheet and talk to them on vent/Skype or in game while I had the visual presentation up.

Reverse the example. I rolled an alt and wanted to pull up my friends or guildies builds I could have a visual presentation while they explain why they chose this over that. Or explained rotations etc.

Hell I'd even use it to see what the very top players were doing.

TLDR: Tools and features are only malicious if you let them be

Sure. Don't see any issue with this. If you get kicked from a group for not having "THE MOST OP GEARS EVER" then shame on them.

Really could careless either way. The current meta for Magicka and Stamina builds is basically the same across all classes. You'd most likely be correct if you assume a Stam build is running 5x Hunding, 3x Agility and then a mix of Mork or Nights with Bloodspawn or Kena. As for Magicka 5x Julianos, 3x Willpower, 2x Kena with Mealstrom or 2x Torug 1x Kena. If you're not wearing those setups, or similar, oh well. Just don't die 100 times in a dungeon and we're cool.

What I'd be more interested in knowing is styles people are wearing. I have no shame in asking, would be more simple if I could just click an inspect tab though.

    This^

I think the gear you described is pretty much textbook, bog standard gear that most players use and have established as meta.

Basically, if gear check is implemented and a person uses it in hopes of finding that rare, holy grail, super sekret gear set is gonna be disappointed.

I'm against it. I don't want others to see my equipment especially when I discovered a "secret high end" setup that is going to be the most effective for PvE or PvP for sure

I personally dont care as you can just watch my stream anyways. I would say it needs to be opt in and just like dueling if u ain't opt in the option to inspect ain't there. Simple.

Gear does not equal skill. That being said I don't want to see a skill meter added either!

I would at least want to have a way to see what motif/costume someone is using. I don't care at all about stats(as long as the gear isn't 10 levels too low for you or something like that). But I would like to see what cosmetic set someone is using.

If you actually give a crap about what the next player is wearing then join a guild. I never understood how people can pug and still think they are allowed to be picky.

I have no interest in your gear, and mine is none of your business. If, however, we both want to compare our gear then there are already plenty of ways in which that can be done.

Don't be silly. That would involve communication :p

I'd rather they spent the time on fixing the bugs and adding new END GAME content that actually gives people something to do rather than wave their E-peen over the screen. I'm not against people knowing what gear the other has, I'd just prefer they spent the time making new end game content.

    Yes on the following conditions.

    A. You can opt out.
    B. It only shows gear style and not name/level/quality.

Even with A the issue will be when you join groups you'll be asked to unhide your gear or be kicked. The only reason for this to be a feature is for players to check if someone else meets their standards for running in group content.

If you want to run group content and know everyone in your group is geared correctly, join a PvE guild where everyone plays to the best of their ability.

I can agree with this. Would definitely like to see more endgame content and bug squashing but I'd also like to see things added that may, or may not, add quality of life changes to the game.

I think this poll should have more concise answers.

    Example:
    1. Yes, gear should be made known to everyone
    2. Yes, but people should be able to hide their gear
    3. No, but maybe a more refined linking system should be implemented
    4. No, if you want to know someone's gear, simply ask them

You would be surprised at how many people will presume that if such a system gets implemented they could not hide their gear (1). Which of course will never happen, and is silly to even think somebody would be forced into something.

It doesn't matter whether you add a Gear Inspection or not when you get kicked from a vet dungeon before it even starts because you're a VR9 tank and everyone else is VR16 (as happened last night).

Haters gonna hate and elitists will just use a gear check as one more indicator that you don't "deserve" to run with them.

Incidentally, I re-queued and joined another group of VR16's and we ripped the dungeon in half in record time with no deaths. So I hope that that first group spent the time I was actually running the dungeon trying to find a "better" tank. B)

I could be remembering wrong, but I'm pretty sure I've run a dungeon with you tanking before... If my memory is correct, I will attest that you are perfectly capable of tanking a VR16-scaled vet dungeon with no issues B)

Yes, but we know It never will happen after we saw the group dmg addon api changes.
That would be good, if it would be optional. If you say I do not show, that others can ispect you.
with dps meter too. I you do not want check others your dps, you can swith off, that would be good, for both side imo.
