Question for a sorcerer healer in the pts

Made a sorc healer in the pts but as I cant find any dungeons groups and debating myself to make a sorc or temp healer on live, already got a dk healer but also want one what a strong cast like bol or pet heal.

I need to ask a few questions about the sorc pet. Does it die fast in dungeons and trails with ward on. Is the heal smart cast? So it will heal the lowest hp persons or will it also heals full hp players while there are low hp players?

    The heal is smart cast. It doesn't die on trash easily, but certain boss battles will kill it instantly purely because it won't adhere to boss mechanics like hiding behind a pillar for protection on first boss vMOL. I tried it yesterday and gave up eventually because the pet is too stupid.

    Smart heal centered on the Sorcerer, 28m radius. It can be out of range of its own share of the heal, and that does *not* free up the 3rd heal for a different target. EgoRush is right, if you're going to use it in dungeons and trials, you're going to have to get used to keeping it alive/recognizing the incoming guaranteed kills. At 10,487 health for VR16, it won't survive much direct damage. The only 'relocate' command we have currently is the Command Pet+Right Click function, returning it to the caster's position. This could be used to take it out of danger by having it stick to you until you're afield, then commanding it to attack from that location. I'm unsure of its approach radius from range, though. I'll test when the game's back up.

    Be aware that it is a valid target for boss mechanics. This can be positive, like in Molag Kena: her Storm Atronach can land on your summon, away from the party. It can also be negative, such as in The Mage or The Serpent: Chain Lightning or World Shapers can choose its location to begin, sometimes causing unexpected damage or deaths.

    If you're running a Ward on your bar, you can keep it up decently. Endgame healer sets should provide you with a 12-24k ward at max level, depending on which you are wearing and your Bastion investment. Its self-heal is guaranteed to heal it for 70% of its HP even at 30k magic. If you keep it within your ground heals, it should be topped up constantly. That would use up a target for them, however, so use discretion.

    Is there a way to check the health of the pet without target it? In a mess of mobs or pvp, it would be hard to target the pets and see how many % it's left. Do we have to keep spamming ward and heal "just in case"?

    Nope. It's something which people have been asking for, it can't be done with addons either.
