High level versions of low level armour

Hello all, my first post here, though I have been playing since March 2015. My question is with regard to the low level craftable armour in the game. I understand that there is a system of progression; low level armour is less ornate, even tattered in some cases, which as your character progresses appear increasingly ornate. For instance, I happen to really like the Breton homespun armour, as I play a Templar in the cleric role, and it has that quintessential monk/ priest look to it (especially with its simple, robe appearance). Perhaps there could be a way to have some sort of wardrobe system where previously crafted levels can be placed on to high end gear? I'd love to have this appearance again, albeit in a way that it's usable as well. I'm sure the same goes for other players too, perhaps there are lower levels of armour that they fancy being able to utilise at endgame as well. I'd like to hear the community's thoughts on this, and whether it's viable.

The community has been asking for this for a while but ZOS don't seem to have any plans on adding it any time soon, if at all.

Yep, what Turelus said. Would love to have the option to get the look of some lower level gear, esp weapons.

    +1

I walk around in plain costumes with all my characters.
The high level Armor is too showy, gaudy, flauting, overwheening, ....

I am just a plain, hardy, rugged Nord from Bleakrock.

Some of my favorite weapons are lower level versions, i.e the dwemer staff at one particular stage is so cool imo but only get to have it a very short time. I get super excited when I get to make and use it but you level so quickly its just a shame.

We have asked, they do not comply, sadly. I think it would be awesome if they could/would implement a way to do this.

Thanks, all. Perhaps if enough people voice this particular desire in the game, ZOS may take notice.

Yeah, they should implement it. Many high level weapons/armors look absolutely horrendous.

Bruh.....We all want the ability to make higher level items, with the artwork of the different armor tiers within.

Yeah this would be great. Wardrobe systems seem to becoming standard feature is most MMO's nowadays, would be nice if ESO gets it eventually. The costumes are kinda helpful cause some of them are lower level stuff, but its also a fail having to pay for stuff I can craft, but then I can use the crafted stuff cause its to weak. Plus no dying or shoulder removel either from costumes

      BUT
      LET ME SAY THIS!!!!!!!!

Its really important that ZOS address the issues with models because I don't want my female characters looking like males so this request comes with that as well.

I agree with that, Wolfydog, a wardrobe system is something I have seen with a few MMOs, and done quite well. Is it something that should be bought with crowns? On the one hand, it would be reasonable incentive for ZOS to implement, as it'd be a money-maker. And on the other, I'm not sure if it's justified, especially given how in other games it's free.

Custom 'costumes'. Being able to place items into a 'template' and then save it into our Collection with names we give it. 'Street-Walker', 'Pub-Crawler', 'Battle Monk', 'War Shaman', etc.

Reeza gra-Zuni - Orc Templar 'War Shaman' and Apothecary
Noemi Snowpaw - Kajiit Dragon Knight - I laugh... or I'd have to kill you.

I really like the low level Argonian armors, higher levels are too gaudy and shiny for my taste.

Most wardrobe systems that I have seen in other games adopt a hybrid path: first set is free, each set after costs money to unlock. Hoping that if ZoS ever puts a system in play it goes this route, that way we get a freebie, and ZoS still has a way to earn extra revenue.

Ff14 added this which I loved, gw2 did a wonderful job so you can customize your armor.

Eso yea.....really needs this kinda system badly

Yep... Rawhide male argonian chest is beast! Also love the simplicity of the level one imperial epaulets.

The best work around is to allow players to buy costume slots and create their own costume sets.

One of my alts runs with those bits of clothing you get that has no armor value.I have each piece dyed dark brown,as it is leather. The Pirate boots,Loose fitting pants, worn leather gauntlets,..all of it has no armor value, but I still get along just fine.
I too like those lower level armor and clothing. I wish they could be improved to our level,or we could do something to add more armor value.

Yeah sadly they aren't interested in this kind a system, even if community really wants it.

I came on here to post the same thing. I really like the shoulders my new level 10 is wearing and much prefer them to the higher level version of the same style. Would only add even more variation to armor combinations. Heck I've even made lower level armor to wear as a 'costume' item before. I see plenty of new characters running around in fancy glass and daedric armor; I don't see why the reverse can't happen.

I wanted this for so long. The robes become stupid looking with hip flaps and shoulder guards which make 80's Diva look understated but we keep having to up grade.

I suspect however they wont do this and we will just get more costumes sold to us in the store for cash.

As stated above in the pictorial:
It'd be great if - during armor creation - we could pick/choose the look of any armor at or below the level of the style we're crafting.

I assume that this would apply to weapons as well.
