Would Maelstrom Arena benefit from a team mode?

Maelstrom Arena is a 1-man challenge that takes even the best players not long under an hour to finish. In my experience, logging into ESO, an MMORPG, to play by myself for 1+ hours doesn't have much of an appeal.

Therefore, what if Maelstrom Arena had a team mode too? The option to enter as a group of 2+ and not be so lonely.

Obviously it would need separate leaderboards (or could be without a leaderboard if completed as a group instead of solo). And the difficulty could perhaps be scaled up depending on the number of people.

In my opinion, most people get the weapons/gear they need from there then quit ever going back. Having it as a group instance would increase it's attractiveness to a lot of these people.

    Yeah I would love a 2 man arena. As of yet there isnt much content to do as a duo for me and my partner so this would be awesome, even if a new arena in a future DLC

    I dont want maelstrom to change. but i do want to see some 2 man group content. whether maelstrom or just something else entirely, as long as its challenging enough to be fun i'd welcome it.

    Hmm I suppose ZOS may not necessarily need to change the current content, but a poll like this will give them an idea of what the community may prefer in future. For instance, a 2-man challenge seems attractive to many.

    It's good to have at least one single piece of challenging solo content in the game (There is nothing else unless you begin soloing trial bosses for fun). As much as I am a group player I still enjoy proving to myself that I can be one of the best in my class independently in an environment that actively supports playing it solo :smile: I admit it wasn't well placed, Wrothgar needed a trial, not some solo content, that I believe should've come afterwards so we could then play both new contents without feeling frustrated in wanting new group content. This I strongly believe was the biggest downfall in Maelstrom (along with no save function for less skilled / time free players) :smile:

    2-man would be good. I play a lot with my other half, and we do most stuff together as a pair these days.

    Well, it would be nice for them to update old content when it becomes irrelevant rather than just pushing new content. That is just protecting game assets IMO.

    So to add on tony first comment....

    I don't think they should change the current version other than allowing 2 ppl. Now the drop rate in vet mode may need some adjusting but that's more of elite vs casual discussions. I'm fine either way as long as I can do the dang thing with someone else. I don't really need it to be 2-man difficulty as in more health or something for the same NPCs.

    Me and my 10 y.o. son love to play together and would LOVE to play the arena as a dynamic duo!!!!! Everytime one of us in in there we always say how awesome it would be to play together there.

    Not a bad idea, maybe they have to create something complete new then for 2 man runs. Don't change the vMA as it is now, but adding a 2 man run why not.

    I'd definitely go in there more often if I can take a friend with me.

    Simply because it would take an entire redesign. the 4 man trial is supposed to be VDSA. It would make more sense for them to update it to v16 than create a whole different version of VMSA.

    Yeah I think this would increase the replay value as was mentioned most people go in to get weapons and have no intention of ever stepping foot on there again afterwards,

    I didn't vote because I think it would be cool
    As a 2 or 3 man, leaning towards 2,

    But I do believe they should leave it he solo content as it is so not to take away the enjoyment of the guys who enjoy testing themselves and there builds alone

    I'm not the best really, so still takes me almost 1.5hrs to complete vMA on my templar. Playing solo for that long gets a bit boring.

    Having a duo version would be cool and I'd definitely do it more often. I already have all the weapons I need and I sure as hell wont run it much "for fun" solo. But with a duo option I would, do it for fun that is. Maybe with more adds and maybe more boss health?

    I dont think a leaderboard would be possible though. There's a reason solo weekly is class divided. But you cant make separate leaderboards for every possible class duo constellation lol.

    Duo leaderboard would be x2 overlords of the Overload spam entire top 100 and that would create way to much QQ.

    Imo, DSA is the best thing in ESO so I would like 4-man option.
    But 2-man would probably be easier to implement, just add some extra mobs and hp for the bosses.
    And yeah, solo arena just highlights class disparity and is a terrible idea in mmo. I feel claustrophobic when grinding it, would be so much better to do it in group... Even if the difficulty would be raised, its not about the difficulty.

    He's not saying to take your solo arena away from you. He's only talking about making more options for those that would like to play them. A 2-man option wouldn't effect your solo play at all.

    I pay to play this game and love it. I don't find the new content difficult (having cleared it within 3 attempts). But I've been in a total of 9 times and I'm already bored of it. Yet, I go to Sanctum/AA/HRC/DSA over and over because I'm there with my friends working together. I play this game for the social aspect. I'm not saying to take away the 1-person challenge - simply paying attention and reading my original post would tell you that, I'm just imploring for an extra option.

    At minium 2, but 4 would've also been nice. I think had it been a group instance, that would've greatly increase it's replay value. Which is an important aspect of any new content, imo.

    I wouldn't mind future content trials to have different modes for party size.
