Same here. I don't PvP or play competively so all the issues others claim to have simply don't affect me, indeed I've only had a single broken quest since PC launch and that was instantly fixed by abandoning and re-taking it. The game has otherwise run flawlessly for me since day one. I have a couple of accounts and switch an ESO Plus sub between them according to where I want the free crowns.
I would not be "only" playing PvP if there was something else to do. I did all quests and the game was good in PvE land (only 2 broken quests, including the fun naked jumping in coldharbour and the ghost quest in Glenumbra). But just asking... what do people do in PvE in the end?
I am not a raider. Once in a while is fun, but the same dungeons over and over and gear grind I find boring. I tried PvE, but once there I though to myself "... what the *** is there to do" and I hightailed back to Cyrodill.
Who can give me insight what they do in PvE what makes a sub worthwhile.
Very simple - not rushing through the content - at my current pace I will reach level 50 with my 8 characters in about 13 months and 4 days. So to me there is plenty of content there for years to come, even with the current content.

I play, since early access, 2 hours per day. I listen to every quest dialog. Some days, like a Saturday, I can play up to 6 hours. I do quests, I did all craftingskills and have it maxed, I pluck flowers and explore every nook and cranny. I PvP'ed in between (from lvl 15) also. I skipped silver and gold at first and PvP'ed. Later on I did them. I had a 3 months break to play ArcheAge.
I didn't rush anything. But after 1 year the content is gone. It took me casual (2 hours per day and doing all of the above) around 1 week per zone. I doubt it will keep one entertained for years to come.
But, I did not do Craglorn (I was bowblade back then I didn't find groups.) but did solo in the end all but one groupdelve (only the darn lamea wenches wont die)
I don't do trials.
I did pledges, but after 30 times now reward=not fun
I haven't tried maelstrom yet, but that's because I don't have access to Wrothgar anymore.

It's cheaper to purchase a subscription than purchasing the DLC packages, that's justification enough to explore the full content of the game without limitations.
Knootewoot wrote: »How is it cheaper with the rate of content they release now? One could pay 6 months of sub before a new DLC is released. That's more money then one who does not sub and buys it on release with crowns.
Rough calculation: 6*15 dollar=90 dollar
Released DLC after 6 months 3k crowns
3k crowns maybe 40 dollar (can't check)
So buying the content after not subbing for 6 months is 50 dollar cheaper.
Unless they start rolling content out every 2-3 monthys, then it might be a better deal to sub. The ESO+ benefits without DLC access are not worthwhile (extra XP etc)
Edit: Of course,.. this is my opinion.

1 zone per week is about right - but I play with 8 characters so a zone lasts for 8 weeks, that is roughly 2 months - now how many zones are there, if I count zones from all factions plus the DLCs?- More than enough for years to come, I would say.

I do not need new content all the time - I am still playing Oblivion and Skyrim, the content is the same, but I experience it with every character differently. This is what role play does to you, you can enjoy the same content in new ways in a different role.

Yeah, then it works :-)
I am no altaholic sadly. I create 1 toon. I will create at least 1 alt when the veteran levels are gone. But then I would only do the (main) questline with him because I don't want to do all the Silver/gold quests again.
I really envy people who can make 8 alts and do the same content over and over and over.
It worked for me in SWTOR with multiple alts as imperials could not do the republic quests and vice versa and every class had it's own story. That made an alt already more interesting then an alt in this game.

That is cool you will always have new experiences but Role Players are a very small part of the community. Most people finish all the content in around 3-6 months. This game needs endgame pve content something that is worth doing over and over again. They were on the right track with wrothgar they just need to expand on it.

Well, I am not forcing my characters to follow a quest schedule or so. They do as they please, I dive into the role and try to see the world from their perspective. Some might like to delve into ruins and dungeons, others might not be interested into this but rather craft or explore, some might get involved into criminal activities or PvP, others will never go there.
In those years, where I am role playing, I made the experience, that none of the characters which I created turned out like I have "planned" for her/him. So I just go with the flow and however they will turn out, I role play them this way. The same content might not feel the same for them and not all do every content - this makes them progress slower as well, because they gather less skill points per zone. But each of them is an individual character and I let them have their way.
I was a long time subber but cancelled a little while ago. The only reason I play ESO is for the PVP - why would offering me free DLCs be an incentive when they are mostly PVE content? I just bought IC and cancelled my subscription. Spend enough time there, so it's absolutely worth the purchase, especially considering the state Cyrodiil is in right now. I can't stand it up there.
When they fix the performance issues and buff stam sorcs they can have my money.
Don't hold your breath for that - as long as they do not see, that the problem with lag is a game design issue and not a technical issue, it will not get any better anytime soon. And Mr. Wrobel is not showing that he understands the problem, he is still for not nerfing zergs - so be it, there will be lag for an eternity or until he will finally grasp that zergs are bad.
And how should they nerf zergs? Large battles are one of the big parts of the game. And zergs will always be part of that.
Many people do like the large scale combat.
PvP is only useful endgame aspect of ESO anyway
ESO does not have endgame PvE aswell (ditch the single player maelstrom arena)
and im barely playing it because Cyrodiil is either empty or full (full Cyrodiil means 2 seconds delay on any key you click on keyboard or mouse)
so sub/ DLCs purchasing is not needed
if the base game cant deliver endgame for PvE, why bother?

as soon as you can buy monster sets in pvp, pve will die. oh people will still have to grind to level 10 to get to cyrodiil but you can get so much xp in pvp these days that pve is now hardly worth it.
i see people level up in pvp so quickly that you can do a veteran rank in under a day with no xp boosts.
if you love questing, great but after 7 characters the same quests for little or pitiful reward gets old real fast. the quests in cyrodiil give much better rewards anyway. The quests that give out skill points are still worth doing obviously.
oh and i am a die hard pve player before i get trolled, but the lag in pve now is great that you might as well just go to cyrodiil and get lag there.

@Clarkieson ,
you say: "as soon as you can buy monster sets in pvp, pve will die"
I do not think that PVE will die.
Players will do pledges for fun, improvement of their group play skills, the loot and not to forget the undaunted passives.
After that they will move on to the next PVE challenges, supported by new DLC's every quarter.
That sounds as a very natural progress to me.
