Should the forums have a Trade section under COMMUNITY?

I know there are a lot of people who are in trade guilds, but sometimes some players want something and just can't find it. Wouldn't it be nice to maybe post it in a section like that ? Specifically for trades say for example you have a motif and you want another motif of the same worth but you can't actually sell yours, now people can just post it? What do you guys think?

Good idea in conception but ultimately would not sadly work.

Reasons being, many trade guilds are social guilds as well, and most players will ask in GC as it is way quicker than a possible reply on the forums that to be honest, the vast majority of the playerbase never actually use.

Yes

I vote yes, because it's a good way for people to request low supply items and meet customer demands. It's also a good way for people to order a crafted set.
It wouldn't be for everyone but it would be a good tool.

I think the in-game methods are what are best regardless of if you like what exists or not.

ZOS doesn't want a global AH so a forum of sorts wouldn't make sense.
If they added this forum, I'd expect the in-game offering to exist as well.

On console, most of our trading interaction is through the slow out-of-game message/community wall features. A small percent actually uses their headsets to trade in area chat, in fact, I've only ever heard about 3 people in Mournhold trade via voice in the space of like 5+ months.

At least console are getting text chat eventually, anyway.

As for the other people who are against it so far. This has nothing to do with an AH or something I like the guild stores. However let me give an example:

You have a primal motif ( almost everyone has it now, yet you need say Barbaric or similar ) why not create a thread in the suggested section to trade it for something of similar value?

^ is all I am suggesting, people who have things that don't sell well anymore who might actually find things they want. I mean nobody sells those motifs anymore, it's all Glass, Dwemer, Mercenary, Daedric, Xivkyn, Ancient Orc ect. & come Thieves guild alliance, Trinimac ect.

Keep in mind that was merely an example of my suggestion.

Er, they weren't saying this thread or your request are against the rules, and aren't trying to troll or bait. They were agreeing with you and saying they didn't get why trade threads were against forum rules to begin with.

Those things are about exchanging in-game goods and services for real-world benefits, or real-world goods and services for in-game benefits.

The OP here is asking about exchange of solely in-game goods and services, but that's not allowed on the forums either (they close down all trading threads with the comment We don't allow trading on the forums, so we're locking this thread. - example) This comes from the rules of the Crafting section:

We have investigated a trading forum in the past. Allowing them would involve a fair amount of complexity in terms of forum moderation and in-game terms of service enforcement. There are also logistical matters for how to properly support trading on six separate servers. Given these issues, and the fact that there are community sites based on arranging trades, we decided to keep

As stated in the Crafting forum sticky, these forums should not be used for trading. So, while not explicitly against the rules, it isn't permitted on the forums. Posting a trading thread won't get your formally actioned, since it isn't against the rules, although if someone continued to post them after being told not to that would constitute deliberately disobeying the moderators.

Also, please note that accusing someone of trolling is explicitly against the forum rules. If you feel that someone is acting inappropriately, you should report the post, rather than respond to it.
