Fishing - Shadowfen - Histcarp - Glitched?

I have fished out all the regions in Aldmeri Dominion, Cyrodiil, and a couple in Ebonheart Pack. However, I seem to be stuck on Shadowfen.

I have collected all the fish in Shadowfen except for the Histcarp, and 800+ guts later, I still don't have one. It has NEVER taken this long to catch a fish in any of the other regions. In fact, it hasn't even ever taken HALF as long as this fish. Honestly, after hours, and hours and +800 fish, I'm starting to believe that perhaps the Histcarp is glitched in some way after the recent update. I'm giving up on this fish for now I guess, but has anyone else had a similar experience with any fish?

Have you ever used 800+ bait trying to catch any particular fish and still haven't? Or am I just being extremely unlucky?

I finished Shadowfen fishing a while back so I know that you can catch it. At least last July it was working. I have had the same experience though with various blue fish. My strategy has been to jump to another zone for a while and then come back and see if the RNG jerk is a little more generous. Usually does the trick. I was really lucky in Coldharbour. The colors/glow there gave me a headache and since all the fish are foul the RNG can really screw you.

I just finished Shadowfen, Stonefalls and Eastmarch today. Was stuck with the foul fish at each zone, but early today I seemed to get a streak and managed to get all of them. There seem to be some periods where you simply can't catch the fish you're looking for - in one zone, I forgot which, I got almost 40 green fish before I got the blue one. Must have spent over 5 full stacks just for that one.

I'm down to the Rift (3 fish), Coldharbour (2 fish) and Cyrodiil (10 fish) for my Master Angler

Got Histcarp a month or so ago. It's just one of those blue rares that makes you realize how low the setting is for such catched with the in-game RNG.

It's obtainable on Xbox. Just got master angler on my alt and am 29 to go on my main. It is out there! I went well over 800 crawlers in alikr desert. You'll get it!

Okay, well I just switched zones and caught a blue fish on my first hole, which as a lake fish in The Rift... Really game? You're gonna' taunt me that hard?

Okay, well like I said, I've never had to spend so much time or bait trying to catch a blue fish, so I thought it was strange.

i've been trying to get Histcarp in Shadowfen for 5 months trying at least 5 holes every 2 days. i'm starting to believe that it's already extinct, since it's insanely easier to get the pink Crab-Slaughter-Crane in Orsinium.

It took me 2k bait to get one fish once. Fishing has a terrible RNG.

I completed Shadowfen fishing last week with a couple others. I can assure you it's there. However we all got stuck on that Histcarp. I think the drop rate on that fish may be pretty low.

I've had the very same feeling, lol - "foken blue fish must be flitched yo". I spent around 13 hours straight trying to fish out Sewer Eel (blue Cyrodiilic fish) as it was the last piece I needed for Master Angler. The next day I tried different fish hole and got it within a couple minutes.
