Well I've been waiting eagerly for months, and Music of Tamriel, Vol 1 is out. iTunes Link

For those that don't know, it's a selection of music from the Imperial City & Orsinium DLC's.

Haven't had a chance to listen to it yet, but I can't wait to get home & crank it out on my home theatre gear.

First I don't use iTunes.
Second, I already bought the game (and pumped some extra money in it) so I don't really feel like buying the soundtrack "again", even if I really like it.

Oddly the original Eso soundtrack isn't on Apple Music. Seems strange to have one each of them on both.

Any information on if this will be released on any other platform, I don't have an iTunes account and don't really want to make one and deal with it for a single soundtrack.

The original games OST was available on Amazon as a digital download, could we see this again?

I wish we had the option to play the soundtracks for the other games in TESO. I would love to be adventuring to an awesome song like "Ancient Stones" from Skyrim.

I listen to Outta the Woods on repeat when in greenshade. Just mute game music and play your music.

Pretty sure even the consoles have this feature? I remember 360 having that anyways..

The frustrating thing about this, like with the Fallout 4 OST is that I know many people would would be happy to buy the music, they just CBA with the effort of doing everything via iTunes.

I would buy it right now if I could just go to Amazon and drop the cash there, then hit download and move it to my phone.

I do know how you feel. I've been in the iTunes ecosystem for many, many years, but there's music I can't get legally in Australia because it's not on the Australian iTunes store & you just can't get the CD for love nor money anymore.

Releasing on multiple platforms (iTunes / Google Play / Amazon etc) is a must nowadays.

Back on topic: I love this album. After Skyrim, the original ESO soundtrack just lacked "Soule" (pun intended). It seemed too generic for my tastes. Brad Derrick has outdone himself with Music of Tamriel. It really hearkens back to the Skyrim days. And it sounds awesome on my home theatre system. It's very atmospheric in 7.1 surround.

if they released the bard songs from the taverns I might buy it but just the music from the game..nope. It's not Age of Conan quality music IMO.

Well maybe after hearing it over and over I've grown bored with it. It's not bad by any means and it does its job as ambient music but like I said I prefer the bard music and I think it should be purchasable. Hell I normally purchase game music. I still fall asleep to AOC and all 3 witcher soundtracks lol

There was talk with Brad Derrick on ESO Live that Malukah might be coming back to record more music.

Legends of the Frost by Malukah & Miracle of Sound (for Skyrim) is one of my favourite pieces of gaming inspired music.

We asked about this, @Turelus. At this time, we don't have any plans to offer this soundtrack outside of iTunes. If that changes, though, we'll let everyone know!

I've worked in the music industry for the last 11 years, specifically in digital distribution. For a major record label (barring contractual constraints, of which nowadays there are fewer) all music automatically goes to all platforms. That said, this is a video game company, and the handholding required for non-music companies to publish music is a bit of a pain. Most indie bands that do this regularly use some sort of third party portal to streamline the process and hit all of the streaming and retail outlets at once. Actually, hey Zeni, are you hiring? Lost my job January 7th and it sounds like you need someone to help you exploit your soundtrack assets.

What's the reasoning behind this? I would have thought you guys would want to release on all the same outlets you used before, and that would include Amazon.

Yeah, this is kind of slap in the face. It forces fans to either use a platform they don't want (I use Microsoft Groove, which DOES have the ESO soundtrack) or it forces them to want to get it through other means. It just doesn't make sense why Zeni would choose to limit it this way. And even then, why not offer it as a digital download from the account store?

They should make a series of CDs with all the ES game music instead of limiting themselves to craptunes.
