Best MMO I've played (only one other), I play ESO the most right now and it does have great potential.

Lol @ the 8 people who said it's "crap", it's a "bit better than crap", "I hate most of the game" and it's "okay but not for me" yet still browse the forums.

When it came out it was "painfully average", as Angry Joe put it - I actually think this is a perfect description about what it was. But has it changed a lot?- I think it did, but it still has flaws and bugs which are there since long and it does not seem as ZOS will ever fix them. The "best MMO 2015" was not given for that it would be the greatest game in 2015, but for the effort to repair a messy game, this is what makes it the best, that ZOS put in effort to fix their mess. But it will not be best MMO 2016, if they continue like they currently do - not showing any effort to get into a proper bug fixing shedule, which would be responsive. As in fixing bugs within days or a week, not as in months or never.

People are still surprisingly patient, but this might wear off and then a lot will just give up and go play something else. ZOS is not seeing this, they think, people will stick around forever - but they won't, as soon as there will be choice to play something similar (and a lot of such games are on the horizon) they might just give it a try and never look back again - do not let it get to this state, ZOS, change your way of handling bug fixing. Hiding behind the TES logo works just for so long until it will finally fail.

Edit: Honestly it makes me feel sad, that a game which has so much potential and such a big franchise behind it with such a huge and passionated fan base is so underpopulated - compared to what it could be - just due to the way in which the game is managed. EVE online was like this as well - until players made clear, that CCP has to fix their crap and make it a proper working game or they will leave - when CCP grasped this and changed, it became what it is today - a great and unique MMO, a one of a kind - I wish ESO to become that as well, but it will not get there, if ZOS is not changing their way of dealing with bugs - and this is sad, really sad.

This is my 3rd MMO and the one I've stuck with the longest by far (since early beta), and still enjoying enormously today. It's actually become more fun as most of my play is now grouped with hubby and some very good friends. Between us, we've been tackling Craglorn, Imperial CIty and even got me into a bit of PvP now and again, which takes me back to my Quake days! Good times. :)

Of all of my complaints, chief among them is the idiotic idea that any changes, fixes, or balancing is held off until a DLC product is rolled out. This sends the wrong message to fans and it makes bring in new players more difficult.

    ^ This. ^
If there is a fix ready (for example the costumes have had a good overhaul on the PTS), then push that fix out live NOW, not in a few weeks time with the DLC. If it's fixed, push it, let us have it. Because of this, I give it 8/10.

I cannot imagine having stuck with ESO since Beta. Far too few class options, far too little endgame content, and PvP becomes a complete lag-fest in the touted "large scale battles!".. so much that disconnects can be almost guaranteed.

ESO kept me hooked for about 6 months. Now, that's 6 months of gaming that few other games have accomplished. For an MMO, however, that's actually pretty short. I spent 6 years on WoW (off and on through the first two expansions. After this, I came back one last time for.. ugh.. Pandaria-which actually wasn't too bad-and then quit for good).

I'm not knocking anyone's ability to stick with ESO. My biggest question really is simply.. why? An MMO is only as good as its endgame content and let's face it.. ESO is severely lacking in this department. Severely.

I guess it's all in the eye of the beholder, however. I really hope ZOS brings some much-needed content because I want to come back, I really do. But I'm not going to return just to trudge through Silver/Gold (yet again) or farm repeatedly for a monster helmet I really don't want. If ZOS implements raids and dungeon marks, I'm in.

5/10. If I didn't like roleplaying with other players I would give the game a 4/10.

I don't like MMO style combat at all: Homing projectiles, red circles, almost instantly regenerating health, respawning cannon fodder mobs with short aggro ranges and bad AI...and so on. I only play the game to roleplay with other players in a TES game.

Potential could hit 10, alas the reality atm, is a 4...tanks should tank, healers should heal...and beyond the lag in the lake, animation cancelling has no place in any game in the 21st century...tbh, eso is like a headless chicken that will, if not guided to common sense, peck itself to death :(

It has the potential to be great but some many little issues still hovering around bother me.

Additionally being stuck in this transition stage between VR and CR systems with most gear sets never seeing updates leaves me (and new players I've asked to join) with the feeling this game isn't in a finished state.

There needs to be at some point an ESO Patch 3.X where we burn away all of this half done work and put a new 100% completed system in place some how.

It's one of the best MMOs I've played but sometimes I think ZOS isn't as open to explaining issues as they could be, especially ones which affect a large portion of players (see Templar changes). Do skills really need to be broken for well over half a year? Other little issues like crippling Cyrodiil's economy and making everything Bind on Pickup really hurt the game, but ZOS was kind of mum on a lot of it for a while.

That said, the game plays amazingly and looks fantastic, and Gina is pretty good at tending to the bitter flock. I give it a solid 7. It could very easily be a 10/10 with improved communication, bug fixes and more end game content.

I rated it 8/10 due to some of the bugs and how long it can take for patches on the bugs. Also the not having text chat on consoles bugs me to no end( so glad it is coming.) After text chat comes in I would say 9.5/10 but still will have room for improvement and has potential. The potential I saw in the game is the only reason I stayed instead of hopping games. That and its TES game and always was a fan of TES games since Morrowind.

I like the game - its the best current MMO

However the thing that really annoys me is the speed of changes and how insaly unbalanced it is. They have stopped even pretending that races and classes are balanced.

They need to bring in some pretence of balance on racials and deal with the spamming abilities which are 1 click win any fight.

ESO is One of the best games I have EVER played. I played SWTOR for a while on PC, although good it doesn't come close to the awesome quality that ESO has. I used to play ESO on PC and was subscribed since May 2014, but back in November 2015 I had to switch to Xbox One as my laptop no longer has the strength to handle ESO. I play on Xbox One and mostly play by myself currently and combined with the excellent graphical quality of the game itself and the Astro A50 Limited Halo Edition Dolby Digital 7.1 Surround Sound Headset it makes playing ESO so immersive it's like being in the game yourself. I used to use Turtle Beach headsets, but all 4 that I tried were absolutely terrible. The only Stereo headset that I tried that actually had good quality was the Microsoft Stereo Headset.

    10/10 for me.

I think, generally, TESO is a pretty good game. Great graphics, music and atmosphere. Combat system is ok, but I've seen better ones of that kind. What bothers me most are those little bugs scattered everywhere (some of them as old as the game) and missing QoL things (various parts of the UI simply are too simplistic, guild management, mail system, ...)

Overall I'd give the game a solid 7/10.

Can't really vote with these options because they are misleading. I would probably pick 9/10 because it's the best MMO out right now but that would imply ESO is a 9/10 which is not correct. Being the best MMO out right now says much more about other MMOs than it does ESO, sadly. I would also rate ESO potential really high but I think mostly that potential has been squandered so is irrelevant at this point.

I played far better mmo's which eventually had the plug pulled.

The extreme unlikelihood of ESO ever being canned is one of the big positives in my book. It'll also never be sold to some money-grubbing company who installs the most evil cash shop imaginable and then basically halts development.

Their single player games make them crazy amounts of money and the Elder Scrolls IP is worth a lot to them. Even with ESO probably not performing as well as they would have liked, they're not about to pull the rug out from under it. They'll keep it going and try to fix it.

Had potential but fixes and improvements are coming in way too late or not at all. I like game devs that work on problems first and store items last. Games that are far less buggy and with less lag are about to be released. I like to actually play with my friends instead of us taking turns lagging out of pvp. 3/10. One point higher than my Destiny score. Had good times but not enough to keep me here.

Massive online battles lol you should take that off the box and put Lag out of massive online battles.

6/10 but its not the fault of the game.

Zenimax have been far too ambitious with the multiplayer part and have so far failed to give the problems proper time and investment to find solutions. The game and content are fantastic i love it, but the function of it is a little wonky. We are all waiting for the march patch in the hope that some of bugs are "fixed" but im affriad some console cash cow players are already grazing in new fields.

I realise that the hardcore amongst us will kepp on scrollin' but for how much longer can we take it?
