Random Dungeon

I queued for a random dungeon (I chose "Any Dungeon") on my lvl 38 Sorcerer and he got put into White-Gold Tower. How come? he couldn't travel there because it said "You need to be a veteran rank" bla bla.

Is the dungeon feature just not advanced enough to filter out those Vet-required dungeons or something?

While the groups to finder for dungeons has been improved, it started out as a product of a high school intern experiment which drove many away from using it. The seasoned players from early in the game do not use it for this reason so it probably doesn't get decent feedback and as such would still have major flaws.

I never use it.

Weird as:

1. Using the Group Finder your battle leveled to VR16
2. WG has a Normal Mode
3. You can't set your Dungeon Mode to Vet until you are a Vet, nor join a group that is in Vet Mode

Makes me wonder if the group finder put you with someone who had Vet Mode set and it tried to set you to Vet Mode. Did you happen to notice if your Dungeon Mode changed? But, it should not have changed your mode as you are not Vet yet........

Weird. Sounds like a Bug

Exactly! and yes, the dungeon tool was set as to Veteran. Strange... must be a bug then.

that or the person selected as leader had qued for random dungeon but had his mode set for veteran and the conflict made the dungeon veteran difficulty instead of normal difficulty

This reminded me. A few weeks ago we were doing a Pledge night and someone want to just run the same dungeon while we ran the silver pledge. This person was not a Vet. He got the same exact error message about not being able to travel to that dungeon blah blaf vet mode. So, it seemed like somehow the group finder, since it ports you as the group is formed, got confused on the Vet mode being set by someone. Only thing, we were trying to set the group up manually, but someone had their group mode set to Vet.

So, it seems that the Group Finder can get confused. Who would have thought.

Grouping tool may have considerate you as a veteran, since you get battlescaled by using it, and thrown you in a group of veteran players wanting to do a veteran dungeon.

If you have previously been grouped with a veteran, who had his dungeon mode set to veteran - your dungeon mode may have been bugged and set to vet mode - despite the fact that you are below veteran rank.
-the easiest way of fixing it is to group up with a veteran - give him lead, ask him to change dungeon mode 2-3 times slowly between vet and normal, then finelly set it to normal and pass you lead, then leave or disband group.

Prior to TG, for WGT and ICP the Group Finder tool could only be used for getting into a VET version of these dungeons. They did not appear in the list of nonvet dungeons. So, I think this issue is a leftover of that, i.e. there is simply no way of putting together a random group for the NONVET version of WGT and ICP.

The new group tool defaults to looking for a random VET dungeon if you don't change the dropdown at top right (with the other options being random nonvet dungeons and Specific dungeons). You might want to try change the pulldown to make sure it is on "random NONVET dungeon" first, before doing a random dungeon, if your character is not yet at vet ranks.
