Pro tip for heists: craft yourself a Night's Silence medium armour set

- Reduced sneak cost and detection area, increased stamina regen from MA passives;
- Ignore speed penalty in sneak from set 5-piece bonus (stacks with Major Expedition, e.g. from Retreating Maneuver);
- Can have traits/glyphs specific to your less-than-legal activities.

I was struggling with some of the heists, but with this set and with my own character, who is max leveled in Legerdemain, I find myself completing them undetected with minutes left on the timer.

    If my experiences as a Templar main are anything to go by..... prepare for a nerf.

    Oh sorry. "Fix."

    ... or just be a vamp. Same effect as the 5-piece night's silence. You can use double take to gain major expedition, casting it does not remove you from stealth (unlike maneuvers).

    2 traits, you can craft it in:
    DC: Mesanthano's Tower, in Glenumbra.
    AD: Hightide Keep, in Auridon.
    EP: Steamfont Cavern, in Stonefalls.

    It's a very basic and easy to craft set that everyone should have for their thief characters (if they are not vampires).

    Do you honestly believe they would take the time to nerf the set because of this? There's not even any competitive aspect to heists or any other Thieves Guild activity except for MoL, and the sneak speed of Night's Silence isn't any use there. Why wouldn't I share it?

    If you're a nightblade, slot Concealed Weapon on your bar while wearing Night's Silence. You'll move faster in sneak than you do while running without having to use Major Expedition at all.
    AD is the best looking faction. I don't make the rules, I just enforce them.

    I don't think that there is a rational approach, so much as knee-jerk reactions to perceived advantages. Who knows what they'd do tbh.

    Nice tip. I'll be sure to craft my thief a set.

    Putting points on that Legerdemain passive that increases your chance of forcing locks can save you some precious time too in the heists that have multiple locked chests (most of them are like this, I think only Glittering Cave isn't).
    Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

    Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
    Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
    Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
    Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
    Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
    Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
    Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
    Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
    Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
    Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

    Almost all the passives are great for this DLC: Less cost for sneaking, increased stealing chance, 80 to 100% chance to force locks... I'll have a lot of fun with the heists :D

    Happily I hung onto a few sets of Nightshade armor in the event that one day they might be useful again.

    Guess that time is soon?

    Would be awesome if the nightshade stuff got bumped to CP160 drops in appropriate areas.

    It's fine using it to do the quests - but, if like me, you're using the nightshade daggers... it makes certain areas "challenging" with such low dps on a magicka build but having to have stamina gear on!! lol.
