✭Dye test shows it has rather strong undyeable brown component. Testing with two contrasting colours show what part gets the dye and which parts don't.

This is really a non-issue since almost everyone will have Soul Shriven. Unless you are seeing this from the PoV of making Akaviri style more "marketable" so AP sellers can get some value out of their AP by selling the motifs and the style material. In which case I'll agree.
I'm not really sold on the armor style, I don't foresee many people wearing it, but the weapons look absolutely great.
I especially like the below:- Axe / Scythe: Will look really cool scare crow or other Halloween style costumes
- Greatsword / Katana: Really suits the Akaviri armor for those that want to RP a Samurai
- Shield: Will really suit beefy, tanky looking builds with Imperial armor
- Staff: Very nice looking basic staff that matches what the Prophet has

✭✭When reading the style book it seems pretty obvious the Katana were added specifically to close that gap in the Akaviri style.
With all the changes I almost feel as if I should grind an Argonian Dragonguard now...

Checked afterwards. The belts in pictures are all crafted as soul shriven style. I crafted also a Breton belt, and they seem to be identical to Breton. Reporting this as a bug.On hiatus. There are some lore buffs that will disagree with your statement, here. So, be prepared for constructive criticisms.
It's not about the marketability or scarcity ... it's about aligning the weapon styles in the weapon sets that have been set forth in prior Elder Scrolls games. Or, more simply put, a lot of ES veterans equate katanas (and similar weapons) with Akaviri equipment.
Not saying, here, the weapons don't look nice or shouldn't be easily obtainable. (Side note, it is nice for a broader base of players to obtain the motif right away.) I am saying katanas should be in the Akiviri set and not Soul Shriven ... as the prior poster said.

✭I've never been too keen on Soul Shriven styles in ESO to-date, primarily because (a matter of preference perhaps) I don't want my character wearing gear that looks like it was crafted from a pair of soiled boxers that I pulled from a dumpster somewhere. This gear looks, well, pretty much just like that.
The weapons that I've seen look pretty cool, and I'm inclined to give some of them a shot on Live, but I am all but convinced I will never wear Soul Shriven gear. I'm rather disappointed tbh, that dev money was used to create an entire racial style that looks like low-quality Breton mixed with low-quality Barbaric (and for the record I like both of those styles). It just looks so... raggedy and half-assed. Also quite disappointed at how poorly it dyes.Edited by Autolycus on February 19, 2016 3:01PM0 -

So I'm just going to sit off to the side here and cheer for proper katanas for my Dragonguard Dragon Knight.
