Probably habit and bouts of boredom at this point. I've done all the content I am halfway good at/can readily do (i.e. solo questing/delves/dolmens in Cyrodiil and base-game Alliance zones) several times already. Waiting for new DLC every 3 months that has roughly 20 game play hours of new content, content that I may or may not want to buy, isn't a big incentive.

    The anticipated upcoming changes/DLC/patches.

I got bored after creating yet another character to play a different style and realized "wait a minute, why am I doing this content again?". Admittedly, I am a bit of an altiholic and like to try new things.

In previous MMOs (yes, I'm going to bring up WoW. Deal with it) I had my main(s) and those were on-deck for things like progression and raid nights. These things don't really exist in ESO and I found my creation of alts out of boredom; I played my V16 the LEAST. There was no reason to play her. Not interested in grinding motifs. I can get this gear made by others. I'm not interested in grinding dungeons for no reason (yes, I enjoy groups, but there's not a lot of incentive--I am not playing the RNG game for a helm). I want raids. Commitment is fleeting from most players I encountered and I've never even done a Trial because getting that commitment was impossible on my end. In a guild of 150 people, it never came to pass.

Eventually, I stepped down as GM. I took a hiatus with plans to play occasionally. Then, I asked to just be removed from the guild (after communication with some members after not being on ESO since mid-December) because I knew that if I returned it wouldn't be for a good long time when (or if) endgame really arrived. At that point, I would take a look at active guilds and take my pick. It's why I keep up to date with changes and additions in ESO.

I agree with the assessment that ESO is much more of a casual-based romp. I hope it changes for those who like to raid with a big group, but we'll see.

There is enough content in the game to keep me going. Whether getting alts up the undaunted ranks or pvp, playing with different or oddball builds.
I've left one class alone, below vet ranks, just in case I do get bored I can try something new.

EDIT: I don't see much else on the horizon. I've anticipated CU for a long time, but the best thing about the videos etc that they are putting out...is that its not a finished product.

The crafting is tops. I feeling like a real blacksmith. Reminds me of sword art online except to sell my goods, I have to use guild store instead of own my own instanced shop. If I got my own store, I would never leave.

    The combat/PvP.
only content that is somewhat Hard and challenging.. PVP..

PvE is a complete bull...too easy...way too easy

Questing, setting, and lore is really fun also..i never had problem questing in this game as its soo cool that every single quest line has a good story and narrative...

just wished PvE was challenging so that i have reason to play it...

Because I love MMOs and out of all MMOs right now ESO is the least bad choice. Sadly, there doesn't appear to be any better ones coming out anytime soon, either. :(

There wasnt an all of the above option so i chose other xP

I love the pve and i love the pvp. The community is actually really amazing and i have been welcomed into many wonderful guilds. The lore is nice to have in an mmo since i enjoyed the other games so much. Im sure some people will lol but i moved to eso with my boyfriend from a badly managed and neglected f2p/pay to win mmo, so in my opinion the level of customer service, attention to detail, efforts into "eso live" and events, timely and detailed patch notes, attention to the forums, and prompt ticket resolution has been incredibly refreshing to me. Some may hate on how buggy the game is but in every circumstance lost items or issues have been resolved in 24 hours for me. Thats amazing and will keep me subbing.

I would say all of the above.

I would also say, comfort zone. I am comfortable with the game, after being here since beta its like... home. Even when the company that runs this game I love seems hell bent on destroying it, I stay because its what I know and honestly the game itself really is pretty amazing.

No other MMO has ever held my interest. Part of that has to do with ESOs beauty. I cant stand games that look like crap but play good, I just cant play them. There are still so many good things about this game, though every update they seem to take more than they give.

The best part of the game is the people whom I have met. Yes, the lore and the fact that it is a dynamic living world through the RP community is great but I have met great people in PVP too. It is the people whom I keep logging in. That and it is great fun.

I'm simply curious as to why people continue to play ESO.

My start in the ES series began with Morrowind and I fell in love at the start. Nothing I had ever experienced was like it. I played Daggerfall and a bit of Arena. I put countless hundreds of hours in every title released since Morrowind and the lore is incredible.

ESO kept me going for about 6 months. I took 6 different characters all through the EP story line (yes, 6 freaking times) and found I played my highest level character the least. Group content, I found, was lacking and it's what I look for in an MMO. I anxiously await the day when more "raid" (Trails or the like) type activities become available and maybe return.

My question to you, dear reader, is: what keeps you playing?

    - first of all screw the bugs and I mostly play PVE, so screw the lag in Cyro
    - wonderful natural sceneries
    - questing
    - roleplaying
    - pretty female characters
    - fights
    - magic
    - dungeons
    - every quarter new content
    - friends
    - socialising with different people
    - adventure
    - fun
    - I loved Skyrim and ESO is even better
    - exploring the lore
    - wandering in the wilderness
    - hunting
    - trading

    I love this game!!! :)

Like many others who chose "Other" I enjoy various aspects of the game and it the fact that ESO offers various types of things can help keep my interest.
Am a whimsical Generation Jones gamer. Online RPGs hooked me since '94 and no sign of stopping soon...
