I dont know how much but why not sell emotes. They give you no advantage.

That's not really the point. People should stop promoting stuff like this. Where every little thing is being charged for. If they were to add further emotes to the game, they should be included in a patch, or even a dlc.. maybe.

You bought the game, you either pay sub, or purchase each DLC that gets released...why should we have to pay for every little extra thing they decide to put into the game... it's not a F2P.

Stop promoting obnoxious sales tactics, is the point. We're players, not milking machines.

This is a for profit company. Emotes are not required to play the game. Hell I dont even know when youd use em. If they can make money off those I dont see why not. The game might not be f2p but it doesnt require a subscription. If you pay a sub per month you will have plenty of crowns to buy emotes if you dont want to earn them in the game.

Absolutely not, why would I want to waste crowns on something I already have? I agree with Asmodean, people need to stop promoting stuff thats going to make us lose/pay for what we already have in the first place.

Why not? There probably already are some emotes we don't have access too.
The game needs to be funded somehow, it cannot run for free.
So if you don't support it - don't buy it if they release it. Bye.

I think new emotes should be available from achievements and quest chains. While I'm not completely opposed to the idea of selling them in the store, I'd rather not have that.

I'd much, much rather there were new emotes in game - I just don't think they will do that sadly.

I want them and sadly I think the only way I will get them is if I show my crowns.

Same as I'd hope for lots of new costumes, mounts and pets that could be earned in game - don't think we will see that ever either.

I understand those saying no because I don't like the idea of buying them either - but if it is a choice between that and not having them at all then I know where my vote is going.

Are they available in such a say now @Kendaric ? We do have trophies from the core ESO:TU game. Did Imperial City or Wrothgar add any new emotes?

I dont know how much but why not sell emotes. They give you no advantage.

They are completely inconsequential to anything else in ESO. They are barely even cosmetic yet those who love them really do enjoy using them.

I don't understand reactions like yours @WalkingLegacy , why would this be THE thing that makes you quit ESO?

How did LOTRO add emotes to their game @wenxue2222b16_ESO ?

I agree with @mattymaats that, ideally, we should get them as unlocks in the game but ESO has been out for almost 2 years now and it hasn't happened yet... read into that what you will.

Pretty simple, emotes are a staple of MMOs. The regular ones we are all use to should already be in the game and fancier, updated ones added in DLC when appropriate. (Like a pickpocket emote with thieves guild)

When a company starts to nickel and dime for little things like this, I'm out. Cash shops are already very lucrative with mounts, pets, and costumes... Not to mention XP pots and such.

Most likely it would be emotes you could get in the game or buy via the store. Not exclusively available only from the store. Even if it was tho who cares. You dont need an emote to play the game.

Because I don't believe in the nickel and dime philosophy of business and will not support it. It's not the end of the world to leave a video game ;)

Why not :) As long as it's a fair price. We don't have many low crown items. Perhaps an emote pack of 20 for 100 or 50 crowns. I'd love emotes for werewolf form. Only /playdead is compatible.

No, let us pay for DLCs but not for emotes. Emotes should be quality of life updates. If you include too many basic things to buy you end up crippling the player base and frustrate them, leading to a lot of people leaving. People leaving = less money for ESO.

I'm actually for some emotes being sold in the crown store, but in that case they should make them easier to use instead of having to use slash commands. Also, I'd only pay for more advanced emotes, especially emotes that can be done with another player, like a dance emote that synchronizes or a hug emote. Such stuff.

I agree with you 100% @Asmodean , in spirit, but to honestly expect large budget games to run in such a way is an exercise in willful ignorance. The artists, the coders, the modelers, the designers... they are all probably in the industry because of the reasons you mentioned, the passion of it all. They do, however, have bosses. Those are the ones who fronted the 200 million bucks to make the game. They have to answer to those individuals if they want to keep their job where they make something they are passionate about.

Reality is a hell of a thing.

One side of the camp we have ZOS doing their best to not make items that would be considered unfair (but would be IMMENSELY profitable), and on the other side we have people clamoring that non-stat effecting items (costumes, pets, mounts, EMOTES) should be in the game and given away for free.

You guys really aren't giving ZOS much freedom as to what is "acceptable" to monetize. They can't just rely on DLC every 3 months, especially if that DLC price is going to stay in the $20-$30 range.

The base game has a lot of free emotes and covers the basics pretty well imo.
Some emotes should be free or come with the appropriate CS purchase. Getting your dog to do a trick, your cat to play with yarn, feeding your horse an apple. A couple per pet or mount.
I'd be happy to see other new emotes being added to the CS but they'd have to be pretty cheap for me to purchase them.
