Pretty simple question. Since we don't seem to be getting them from DLCs Should ZOS Sell NEW emotes in the Crown Store?

Please elaborate on your vote below!
  • If YES, which emotes should they sell and for how much should they sell them?
  • If NO, why not?

A game loses its fun when even basic mmo features like emotes can be bought for IRL cash. :p

Yes. I would much rather have emotes in the crown store than other game fixes or end game content.

I'm voting no as I feel like emotes should be a thing to collect, through quests or achievements as it adds a whole new layer to the game and will actually mean people will go out of their way to get certain emotes. I would [understand if they/like them to] add certain special emote to the crown store though and I would be totally for that but the majority should be available by playing the game.

    Yes!!!!!!!!!!!

I will pay good money for an emote that piles up gutted fish carcasses as I filet my stacks of dhufish.

Just imagine a flash mob filling Rawl Kha with rotting piles of fish. Poor Semiral wouldn't even be able to get to work.

I would still love to see new emotes though. What they could do is put some new emotes behind a quest chain, stuff that will unlock interesting emotes like what babylon said; Cadwell's lute tune. That would be cool but then again, other players would be hearing a different tune unfortunately...

Sure, why not! I am sure they will be over priced like many of their other items in the store so.... might as well do it!

But seriously, I don't see why they shouldn't add something like this into the store. Make them unique and only available in the store for the RPers.

Yes because sadly I just don't think we will get them any other way and I really, really want more emotes.

Having spent 6 years in an emote heavy LOTRO I find I am really missing quite a few of them

    My suggestions would be:

    Blowkiss
    Flip
    Boo
Breathefire (I already see npcs doing this in the next DLC)
    Swallowsword (as above)
Throwflowerpetals (that would be really great for the mass wedding this afternoon)
    catchbouquet (as above)
    sing

A few with each DLC would be preferred - maybe fit them to the DLC like get a few thiefy ones in there?

    countloot
    rubhands
    gesturetopockets

I think we will really need more emotes one way or the other to get the most of out festivals and events - and things like this afternoon's mass wedding.

Something so basic doesn't belong there that is korean mmo f2p bs it has no place in this game, zos should be adding costumes, mounts and pets they sell really well.

To be fair @NateAssassin , the question wasn't "Would YOU buy more emotes from the Crown Store?" it was "Should ZOS sell emotes in the Crown Store?"

To say something shouldn't be added simply because you yourself wouldn't use it is a bit narrow-sighted (new word!), don't you think?

IMO, buying simple emotes doesn't seem like a very good idea to earn money for ZOS, or make players happy, most people (That I know) don't even use emotes, and I am pretty sure they would not spent 15$ for an emote pack. If ZOS did release buyable emote packs, it will just show they are willing to sell even cheesier things than a reskinned mount, instead of creating new interesting cosmetic options such as new motif styles.

I dont know how much but why not sell emotes. They give you no advantage.

They are completely inconsequential to anything else in ESO. They are barely even cosmetic yet those who love them really do enjoy using them.

I don't understand reactions like yours @WalkingLegacy , why would this be THE thing that makes you quit ESO?

How did LOTRO add emotes to their game @wenxue2222b16_ESO ?

I agree with @mattymaats that, ideally, we should get them as unlocks in the game but ESO has been out for almost 2 years now and it hasn't happened yet... read into that what you will.

In my old MMO you could by the gangnam style dance emote. There was a glitch that allowed you to dance while moving at the same time. I'd probably pay for that

Pretty simple, emotes are a staple of MMOs. The regular ones we are all use to should already be in the game and fancier, updated ones added in DLC when appropriate. (Like a pickpocket emote with thieves guild)

When a company starts to nickel and dime for little things like this, I'm out. Cash shops are already very lucrative with mounts, pets, and costumes... Not to mention XP pots and such.

I've been asking for Cadwell's lute tune as an emote for years now and we've never seen it, and I know it would be very popular...so why don't they just make it?

Maybe selling emotes is the only thing that would encourage them to make it.

They added emotes at first in LOTRO whenever relevant new content came along. Like the boo emote came with a Halloween festival event and you could get it for completing festival tasks or something. You could also sometimes get them for completing quests I think.

They did eventually start selling them in the store though - even most of the ones that you could have got by other means at some time before.

Emotes in LOTRO were obtained/bought by character - never ever want to see that sort of thing here. If you wanted an emote on more than one character you had to buy it more than once.

Ah. Gotcha. I 100% agree that emotes would best be added with DLC... but we haven't seen this, have we? Did Wrothgar offer new emotes? Did Imperial City?

So, if we aren't going to get new emotes with DLC releases, would you rather just not have new emotes?

Most likely it would be emotes you could get in the game or buy via the store. Not exclusively available only from the store. Even if it was tho who cares. You dont need an emote to play the game.

Ah! OK. Holiday event unlocks. I actually like THAT idea a lot more than Crown Store items. Luckily, these would probably be in a collections tab and those are for the whole account, not just one character.
